Seraphina lightly pushed him, "You really have a sweet tongue."

"How do you know?" Ethan Sterling smirked, "Did you secretly taste it while I was asleep?"

Seraphina blushed, "I did not!"

Ethan brought his face close to hers, "You can taste it now if you want?"

"Ethan!" Seraphina glared at him angrily, "Can you be serious for a mont?"

With his fingers gently caressing her face, Ethan dropped his teasing and unserious expression.

"I’m just... it’s been so long since I’ve seen such a happy and cute expression on your face."

These days, if she wasn’t giving him the cold shoulder, she was worried about Caleb Thorne’s matters, which made him both angry and heartbroken.

Finally, seeing the long-missed smile on her face, as well as the cute and adorable look of her being annoyed, he couldn’t help wanting this happy expression to stay on her face a little longer, just a little longer...

Seraphina raised her hand, placing it on the back of his hand, and smiled.

"From now on, I’ll smile more often."

"Mm." Ethan nodded, "My wife’s smile is the most beautiful."

"What do you an, so I’m not beautiful when I’m not smiling?"

"Of course not, you’re beautiful even when you’re not smiling, even when you’re crying."

"You are such a tease."

Seraphina playfully punched him, pulled the blanket over her, and headed to the bathroom.

Ethan followed her to the bathroom door, "Do you want to help?"

"I don’t want you to." Seraphina replied with an annoyed tone.

If he helped, who knows how long the bath would take.

Ethan was just teasing her and didn’t press the matter.

"Rember to dry your hair, don’t catch a cold."

After helping Seraphina prepare her clothes, he turned around and went downstairs to make breakfast.

Seraphina finished her shower, dried her long hair, and ca out of the bathroom.

Reaching for her clothes, her eyes fell on the black jewelry box on top.

Curiously, she opened the box, only to find the sapphire anklet resting quietly on the black velvet.

Surprised, she picked up the anklet; Ethan had already repaired the part that was previously broken.

Now, the anklet lay quietly in her hand, just as perfect as before, without any signs of having been broken.

Seraphina looked at the anklet in her hand, opened the clasp, but instead of putting it back on her ankle, she wore it on her wrist.

Because the previously broken segnts were removed, its length fit perfectly on her wrist now.

Twisting her wrist, she put on her clothes and cheerfully went downstairs.

Seeing Ethan busy in the kitchen, Seraphina walked up behind him, wrapped her arms around his waist, and intentionally waved her hand wearing the anklet in front of him.

"I don’t want to wear it on my ankle, I want to wear it on my hand, so everyone can see!"

Previously, she hesitated, wavered.

Regarding their relationship, she always held back sowhat.

From now on, she would no longer do so.

Recognizing the implication in her words, Ethan smiled, turned his face, and lightly kissed her cheek.

"Go set the table."

Seraphina set the table, and Ethan brought over the wontons he had cooked.

The two sat by the table, ready to start breakfast, when the doorbell rang.

"You eat, I’ll get it."

Ethan got up, walked to the living room, and opened the door.

Seeing Nathan Foster standing outside the door, an ominous feeling rose in his heart.

"What happened?"

"Just received news, Adrian Chamberlain has submitted a psychological dical report to the court and will no longer attend to testify, and..." Nathan Foster frowned, "The witness you managed to find won’t be appearing in court either."

"He ran?" Ethan gritted his teeth, "Didn’t I tell you to keep a close watch on him?"

"I was careless." Nathan Foster said with remorse, "I didn’t expect him to leave suddenly."

"You!" Ethan was angry enough to explode, then rembered Seraphina was still in the dining room and lowered his voice, "Then why are you here, go to the train station, the airport... find him!"

"Too late." Nathan Foster handed over a letter, "This is what he left behind, he left last night."

Ethan snatched the letter from his hand and unfolded it.

The letter was written on hotel stationery, clearly written in a hurry.

"Mr. Sterling, Attorney Foster, I’m sorry, I really don’t want to betray your trust, but... for the sake of my family, for my wife, I had to make this choice."

Ethan crumpled the letter into a ball.

"Who’s behind this?"

From the ssage, it’s clear the witness was forced to leave.

The only explanation is that soone threatened him.

Seraphina, curious about Ethan’s prolonged absence, ca over.

"Nathan?" Seeing Nathan Foster outside the door, she smiled and greeted him, "Co in, is sothing urgent happening this early?"

Seeing Seraphina in the living room, Nathan Foster was a bit surprised.

"Seraphina, you... what are you doing here?"

"This is her ho, where else would she be?" Ethan put his right hand holding the letter into his pocket, giving Nathan Foster a knowing glance, "Since you have sothing to handle, I won’t keep you for breakfast."

Nathan Foster understood, "Yes, Seraphina, I’ll be off then."

"You guys don’t need to pretend." Seraphina pursed her lips, "Is it about my brother’s case?"

Ethan, worried she’d be upset, quickly covered up, "Honey, don’t let your imagination run wild, really it’s nothing."

"Ethan!" Seraphina stopped him, took a deep breath, softened her tone, "I know, you’re afraid I’ll worry, afraid I’ll be sad, but don’t you think this is too exhausting? We’re husband and wife, I’m not your pet, aren’t couples supposed to face situations together?"

Ethan was stunned.

He always thought putting her protection and happiness first was how to love her best.

He thought he was doing it right all along.

It’s the first ti he’s realized he might have been wrong.

The misunderstandings between them before, maybe because he was trying too hard to protect her, ended up backfiring.

He opened the door, nodding.

"Nathan, co in and explain."

Nathan gave a slight nod, stepped into the living room, and briefly explained the situation to Seraphina.

"At the mont, the case is sowhat stalled, but we’re not out of options. As long as we find more solid evidence, Caleb can definitely be cleared."

Ethan stood beside, anxiously watching Seraphina, fearful she’d be overwheld.

To his surprise, Seraphina didn’t break down.

Though saddened, she remained firm and nodded, "We’ll figure it out together."

Nathan sighed in relief, "Okay."

After a mont, Seraphina lifted her face, sharing her analysis.

"The witness leaving, I’m guessing Adrian Chamberlain has a hand in it too. Adrian is so scared to testify, which only proves my brother was wronged, there must be more evidence that can prove my brother’s innocence."

Seraphina thought for a mont and suddenly recalled sothing.

"Right, during the trial, didn’t that supplier ntion Adrian Chamberlain had done this on other projects too. If we find those proofs, can’t we then investigate him?"

"Exactly!" Nathan nodded, "We’ve thought of that too, Ethan and I are working on investigating the projects Adrian has handled before. Since everything’s clear now, I’ll check on any progress from the assistant."

Nathan bid farewell and left, Ethan and Seraphina escorted him out of the living room.

Watching Nathan’s car disappear into the distance, Ethan turned his gaze back to Seraphina, suddenly realizing he had underestimated her.

His Mrs. Sterling was far stronger than he imagined.
