Martha Kentwood’s face instantly purpled as though she was choking on an exceptionally large glob of bile. Her expression twisted and changed as she raised a wrinkly, shriveled hand and pointed it at Aiden.

"You... You... How dare you!" After struggling for so long, she barely managed to choke out those words. Her husband ca over to support her as she stumbled back, as though struck fatally in the chest.

"Oh boy..." Alia uttered under her breath, though her words were completely ignored by everyone present. Her relatives had their eyes solely glued to Aiden, and Aiden seed to be relishing in it.

He folded his arms across his chest and hmphed, the corner of his lips tilting up into a mocking smile. With his posture and the aura he exuded, Alia could see the similarities between Matteo and Aiden. If it weren’t for the cocky grin he wore, she could’ve even been mistaken.

"But I was speaking the truth," Aiden said with a shrug. "Sweet Mrs. Kentwood, how pitiful it is to live to the ripe age of your..."

His eyes scanned her up and down.

"... hundreds," he finally settled on the number as Alia’s eyes widened, "without having experienced a lover’s touch. This is purely speculation, and please do not correct if I am wrong for I am not interested in the bedti activities of old wrinkly won, your husband must’ve been planting his seed in you like he was a soldier on a mission― in, out, and gone."

Hundreds! That was a stretch, especially with how full of life these two old people seed to be.

Aiden Montgory was intent on giving Alia a ruptured spleen from keeping her laughter in. It was fatally painful trying to keep a straight face as Martha and Lewis Kentwood’s faces turned red and purple, oscillating between the two colors in a rush of embarrassnt and anger.

But, unfortunately for them, Aiden wasn’t anywhere near finished. His stamina for spewing nonsense had finally co into good use, and he ard his words like he would a machine gun in war.

"I totally understand and I am entirely sympathetic that you have yet to experience the joy of your lover’s physical affection. Cobwebs must have ford in your nether regions, but forgive if I’m not too inclined to check it out for myself," Aiden said, dabbing dramatically at the corners of his eye as though he were crying.

Of laughter, maybe. If he had tears, Alia bet they wouldn’t be of sadness and actual pity. Aiden had the wicked lips of the devil and acting skills to boot.

"It’s not too late, you know? There are plenty of people from my grandmother’s generation who have done the sa. They ditch their husbands — or their husbands die of mysterious circumstances, if you know what I an — and they in turn find richer, more handso n to fill the lonely spot in their hearts. Best of all, these n are usually younger!"

Then, Aiden’s face turned green and pale.

"But don’t get it wrong," he said, "I don’t an . In fact, please do not ever contact again, whether you leave your husband or not." Aiden even shivered for good asure. "I don’t need money, and even if I did, you don’t seem to be able to upkeep my expenses like an average sugar mommy would."

Dramatically, Aiden placed his hand over his lips and turned to Alia.

"Wait a minute. That’s it, isn’t it, Alia?" he said in exclamation, making sure the volu of his voice matched the Kentwoods― maybe even louder. "Money! They are after money, aren’t they? That’s why they’re here to see you after not checking in for so long!"

Instantly, the crowd of onlookers muttered among themselves. They had attracted quite the attention, and more and more people were streaming out of the elevators only to stop in the lobby to have a look at the show. So of them even caught the encounter on cara, and Alia had to subtly shake her head and tug at Aiden’s shirt to get him to stop.

"You young punk!" Lewis Kentwood yelled, spittle flying forth from his lips. "Don’t you know to respect your elders?!"

"Last I checked, I do not belong to the Kentwood family," Aiden quipped back. "And like you oh-so-delicately described just now, I am but a sewer rat who is, unfortunately, not getting my hands on any gourt cheese. Thus, I am by definition, fortunately, not related in the least bit to any of you."

Martha’s lips parted but before she could say anything, Aiden continued, "This is X’el International’s headquarters, not the farr’s market. Unless you’re here to discuss business with one of the managent teams, please leave. I―"

He paused, casting a look at Alia before pulling her over, his arm thrown over her shoulder.

"―We," he corrected himself, "are not obligated to attend to you." As soon as he said it, he raised his hand and snapped his fingers.

The security officer from before hurried over, and with him were two other mbers of the security team. The ti Aiden and Alia had spent arguing with the Kentwoods had provided the security team ample ti to call for backup. They stord over and quickly surrounded Joshua, Lewis, and Martha Kentwood, using their muscular bodies to block them from the crowd’s view.

"Alia!" Joshua hissed through gritted teeth. "You dare throw us out? We’re family!"

"Joshua, son..." Martha Kentwood said, coming over to pat her son’s hand like a loving mother. "I should’ve known! We should’ve listened to your warnings when you said that this granddaughter of ours is just like her father― unfilial and cold, caring only of material wealth."

She shook her head; though much of her act was obstructed by the security guards, she was still determined to maintain the performance.

"They’re all the sa. Why would they care for a small-town family mber like us if she is set to take the place of a city heiress? We’re only the ones who birthed and raised her father, but she cares only for the family her own mother tried running away from."

Alia’s eyelid twitched as sothing in her snapped. "Do not talk about my mother like that!"

She stepped forward in her anger, her impulses causing her body to move before her mind could warn her against it.

However, she hadn’t even touched them when Lewis Kentwood suddenly grasped his chest over where his heart was. He gasped a few tis, and to the horror of the watching crowd, he collapsed onto the floor.
