Chapter 245: Catholic church
"My na is Vienica Addison. I used to be Enim’s friend before she passed," Addison said, extending her hand for a handshake.
Abi shook her hand, her right eyebrow arching in curiosity. "You ntioned sothing about what happened with Enim, but honestly, I don’t rember who she is."
"Have you co across a photo of Enim?" Addison inquired.
Abi’s face showed a frown, as if she was trying to rember, but it appeared she couldn’t quite manage it.
"I can’t exactly say that I don’t recall," Abi remarked nonchalantly.
"However, the story," Abi pointed out. Vienica gave a nod in agreent.
"When Enim worked at the brothel, she had very little freedom. She often felt trapped and confused, even when idle. Once, Enim left the brothel without informing Madam Joyce. It was ant to be a simple outing, but she was unaware of the dangers lurking around." She spoke.
"On that day, she saw you encircled by n and thought she might assist you, as she had been with so of them before. Since they were near the brothel area, she assud they were driven by their insatiable desires" Addison added.
Addison stopped for a mont, took a deep breath, and then moved toward the pavent beside the room. She sat down, lowering her head, and brushed aside the strands of hair that covered her face.
She continued to speak with her head bowed, "They attempted to harm you, but fortunately, Enim stepped in. She confided in
that she had posed as a friend of yours. You had your phone with you, so she devised a plan to help you escape. Acting as a friend, she asked to take a photo with you and then handed the phone to the n, who were nearby. The n approached, sensing a threat, but unbeknownst to you, Enim had already contacted ."
"How did you manage to get a phone at the brothel?" Abi asked, curiosity evident in her voice. She had done so digging and discovered that the girls working there were prohibited from owning any devices. Addison lifted her head and chuckled softly in response.
"Abi, haven’t you co across the saying, where there is no law, there is no sin? So, let
ask you, wouldn’t there still be those who break the law? I couldn’t simply endure a life in tornt, paying for sothing I didn’t commit. Madam Joyce enslaved us because we were used as a ans to settle our family’s debt."
"You had a phone, so why weren’t you able to inform the police or any relevant authority?"
"It’s a brothel, ma’am. Even prominent figures visited that place. Do you really believe she wouldn’t leverage it for connections? Madam Joyce was known for taking before giving. She pretended to be kind-hearted but exploited people for her illegal operations. I needed to find sothing aningful in my life. I had to escape sohow. You know what, let’s stop talking about it—I don’t want to relive those mories," Addison said.
"Alright, so Enim grabbed my phone, and what happened next?"
"She forwarded the photos to
and warned the n that she would report them to the authorities, claiming she had connections there. She fabricated this story on your behalf, and luckily, those n didn’t identify Enim, so they believed her threat and backed off. That’s how I’m acquainted with you."
Abi took a deep breath and gazed at Addison, her arms crossed. After a mont, she moved toward Addison and joined her, sitting together on the pavent.
"Currently, I’m aware there’s sothing I’m attempting to grasp, yet I can’t quite put my finger on it. Honestly, I don’t recall ever eting Enim. My mory of the past is blank, but I’m committed to uncovering everything about her. She appears to be a kind woman, so I’ll do my utmost to learn more about her."
"Enim truly was a kind-hearted individual."
"When did Enim pass away? I attempted to inquire with Vixen about the circumstances, but he becos unpleasant whenever I bring it up, and he appears annoyed by that query."
"I genuinely have no idea because ever since she started living with Vixen, she appeared to be engrossed in living her own life. "
"I heard Enim hosted a baby shower. Were you there as well?" Abi asked.
"Yes, I received an invitation too."
"Did you feel anything off about the event, like sothing was amiss?"
"No, everything seed perfectly normal. It had the usual relaxed vibe."
"I’m uncertain, but then—" Abi began to speculate, pausing abruptly when she glanced down at her wristwatch to check the ti."I believe I should go. If I don’t leave, the person following
might suspect I’m involved in sothing," Abi explained, causing Addison to frown as she asked.
"Soone is following you?"
"Yeah, and now I’m just trying to find a way to discover whoever is following ."
"Oh my, I also had the feeling that I was being followed."
"That’s why I told you that you should be precautious for now. I feel like the story behind all this might just be complex. Soone is scared about what I can do, and I need to remind them of what I’m capable of."
"Alright then, you should probably head out," Addison whispered, accepting what needed to be done.
In the following mont, Abi rose to her feet, preparing to leave. She took a mont to straighten her appearance and then walked out of the room, maintaining a cautious deanor.
She looked calm, and gentle, her eyes looking around the surroundings as she clicked her heels on the polished ground.
Shortly thereafter, she entered the church from the rear, making her way down the aisle in search of the individual who had captivated her interest.
While the Pope’s service continued, the man observing her seized the chance to leave the church. However, as soon as he followed Abi, she was nowhere to be found in the hallway. Consequently, he returned to the church, waiting patiently for her return.
Abi approached the man’s seat, her heels clicking softly and dangerously in the room and then she settled down next to him.
The man was nearly startled when he noticed soone had just taken a seat next to him. Seeing her there, he was surprised, but Abi kept her eyes fixed on the Pope.
With a playful smirk, she spoke softly, still keeping her focus on the Pope, "Who sent you to be here?" she asked quietly.
The man remained silent, prompting Abi to glance over at him.
"I’ll be around for a while at this place, so I suggest you inform whoever instructed you to follow
that you will just have to leave this place and find another mission to get with."
The man furrowed his brows, puzzled by her statent, but then his eyes widened in realization.
A sharp prick pierced his back, revealing that Abi had deftly injected him with a syringe.
"See you later," Abi said as she watched him gradually succumb to drowsiness.
Once he was asleep, she swiftly reached into his pocket and retrieved his phone. Her glaze and gesture making her look calm and without any suspect.
She had a small curl at the corner of her lips just as the device was wrapped around her palm.
She gently unlocked his phone using the biotric security of his phone as she placed his phone right in his face, pretending to get him awake while in the church and then she imdiately signaled to one of the church ushers.
Abi had previously instructed the ushers to prepare the man for baptism before she sat next to him.
She notified the usher that there would be an individual likely to fall asleep during the sermon due to a condition causing temporary unconsciousness. Despite this, the kind gentleman still wished to participate in the baptism, which helped her gain the ushers’ trust.
So, the ushers escorted the unconscious man by his arms, leading him out of the church towards the river for water baptism.
Abi heaved a deep breath, she watched as the man was taken away and then in the next mont, she stood up her bench and then walked out the church premises.
Fortunately, she was able to spot the car as soon as it stopped at her house gate. She needed him to notice her every move, ensuring that when it was ti to hide, he wouldn’t catch sight of her imdiately after.
She browsed the phone for a bit as she strolled towards the church’s exterior view. After finishing with the man’s phone, she paused and slipped her hands into her trouser pockets, glancing around casually as if searching for sothing.
With the wind blowing, she brushed the hair away from her face and, with a deep breath, proceeded in a certain direction.
