"These are your favorite white roses, chosen especially for you." Even though Qi Cheng knew that his sister-in-law was not the type of woman who would scream with joy upon receiving flowers, it was rare for him to give her sothing, and he didn’t know what else to give.

He rarely spent her birthday with her, and without any good gift to present, he could only offer his sentints and create an atmosphere.

His sister-in-law took the flowers, "Thank you."

She glanced at Qi Cheng and then awkwardly lowered her head.

"Let’s eat." Qi Cheng gently put his arm around her and led her towards the dining area.

The dining area was romantically set up, designed especially for her.

Half an hour ago, she had been feeling disappointed that Qi Cheng couldn’t spend her birthday with her; she hadn’t expected to be treated like this at this mont.

She sat down, placed the flowers aside, and asked Qi Cheng, "I heard from Qi Cheng that you had sothing to do and went out. I thought you were on a work trip."

"Even though I’m busy, I thought having a al with you shouldn’t be too much to ask. Isn’t that why you ca here?" Qi Cheng looked at her, as if he could see through her thoughts.

His sister-in-law denied, "I said I only ca to keep Leilei company this ti..."

"So, should I thank our daughter for bringing you to my side so I don’t have to rush ho to find you?"

"..." She looked at him in surprise, "Were you planning to co back?"

She hadn’t expected that Qi Cheng would rember her birthday. She even thought he had already forgotten about it.

Yet, she was surprised to hear such unexpected words from Qi Cheng.

"Of course!" Qi Cheng smiled, "I’ve never forgotten your birthday."

"But we haven’t celebrated a birthday together for such a long ti."

"That’s why I regret it," Qi Cheng said. "In the past, I couldn’t let go of my pride, but now... I feel like we don’t have much ti to waste."

Actually, every year on her birthday, Qi Cheng never forgot it like she thought.

He even made ti for her, but...

He never found a reason to return to her.

Initially, it was because of anger, jealousy, and Fang Zihuan. After his grandfather passed away, although Fang Zihuan deliberately caused trouble, it actually gave them a better chance.

At least, it made Qi Cheng realize that her heart wasn’t on that side...

But they had been so distant for so long that even on her birthday, after much hesitation, he never showed up to celebrate with her.

This doesn’t an he forgot about it.

He just never found the courage...

The decision today was suddenly made because he discovered she had co to C City specifically to see him.

Even though she didn’t ntion it, he could sense that the visit was just an excuse; she had co specifically for him.

As husband and wife for many years, so things had beco a tacit understanding between them.

But that doesn’t an they couldn’t understand each other’s actions.

Now that she had made such an effort, it seed unreasonable for him to let her down again!

His sister-in-law listened to Qi Cheng’s words and looked away.

The music in the dining area was very romantic, indicating that Qi Cheng had put effort into this al.

Because even the music was her favorite piece.

After listening for a while, she said to Qi Cheng, "I thought you had forgotten all these things."

The flowers she liked, the music she enjoyed, and her birthday...

He rembered it all.

"I also thought I’d forgotten, but when I’m idle, I can’t help but rember." Saying this, Qi Cheng gazed at her, "After everything that’s happened, I want to go back to the past with you. I wonder if you’re still willing?"

"But I..." It’s not that she didn’t love this man, not that she hadn’t thought about starting over with him, but Fang Zihuan had always been a barrier between them.

Before she could refuse, Qi Cheng had already stopped her, "Let’s not talk about unhappy things."

"Can you really not care?" She didn’t want to admit it, but had to acknowledge that she and Fang Zihuan had already crossed the final line.

Even though it was because she had been drinking that night, those actions couldn’t be erased.

In fact, it was at that mont she realized that no one could replace Qi Cheng for her.

No matter how good soone else was, or how flawed Qi Cheng was, years of marriage had integrated him entirely into her world.

Even if she wanted to separate, it wouldn’t happen overnight.

But she really didn’t have the face to return to Qi Cheng.

"..." Qi Cheng remained silent.

No man can ignore such things, especially not a man as proud as he is.

She said, "Sorry, I shouldn’t have brought this up. Let’s eat."

On such a rare happy day, bringing up this topic was like asking for trouble.

Qi Cheng looked at her and joined her in having lunch.

For a long while after, they didn’t speak a word.

After the al, they went to see a movie together, which Qi Cheng had arranged.

It should be noted that he had never watched a movie with Ye Suya when they were together.

Firstly, because of being busy, and secondly, because his status made it unsuitable for him to appear in cinemas.

But today, he wanted to do sothing that would be surprising.

A few days ago, when Leilei called Qi Cheng, she ntioned that when a boy pursues a girl, it’s boring not to take her to see a movie.

That’s how Qi Cheng ca up with this idea.

His sister-in-law sat in the cinema. As a television station employee, she couldn’t really enjoy the fun of watching on the big screen, nor was she interested in the films playing there.

But because it was Qi Cheng’s invitation, she didn’t find anything wrong with it.

They sat quietly; the cinema was empty except for the two of them sitting in the middle of row after row of seats.

She sat beside him, watching the large screen, never missing a single move by the man next to her.

She could even sense his every breath’s rhythm.

Qi Cheng watched the movie but didn’t feel the romantic atmosphere Leilei described because the recomnded film seed too childish in his eyes, and he figured she wouldn’t like it either.

What was even more frustrating was that during the entire movie, he kept thinking about what she had said during lunch.

That issue had been a long-standing barrier between them for a long ti...

She had always been unwilling to return to Qi Cheng because of Fang Zihuan.

And Qi Cheng couldn’t let go of his male pride and the barrier in his heart, so they were stuck in a stalemate for one year, two years...

Should they continue this way?

She was watching the movie, and just when she found so interest in it, Qi Cheng suddenly sat up straight and said, "I can’t take it anymore."
