Ji Yunhuan’s mind was in turmoil; she admitted she was impulsive. If Qi Cheng hadn’t suddenly appeared, she might have done sothing irreversible.

The atmosphere inside the quiet car was tense. After a long while, Qi Cheng finally reached out, held her hand, and tried to ease the situation, "Yunhuan."

Ji Yunhuan felt her heart skip a beat. The entire drive there, her emotions had been particularly complicated, and precisely because of this, seeing Xia Duo made her want to do sothing so reckless.

Now, with Qi Cheng holding her hand like this, Ji Yunhuan felt her tense body relax, and the hatred in her heart wasn’t as intense.

"I’m sorry," she sighed, apologizing.

Qi Cheng looked at her. Actually, when he went to work, he didn’t expect Ji Yunhuan to do such a thing. After all, she had seed calm and restrained in front of him these past few days.

When he saw her trying to hit Xia Duo with the car, he felt that maybe he hadn’t been caring enough for Ji Yunhuan.

Seeing her with her head bowed, like a child who had done sothing wrong, Qi Cheng said, "I’m not blaming you, I’m just... scared."

"What are you afraid of?" Ji Yunhuan finally looked up at him.

"... ..."

"You’re afraid I’d hit you?" Thinking about how he suddenly rushed out, Ji Yunhuan couldn’t help but pinch him, "If you were scared, why did you co running out?"

Though she was sure that with Qi Cheng there, she wouldn’t actually hit Qi Cheng.

"I’m afraid I won’t be able to stop you," Qi Cheng sighed helplessly, "and even more afraid you’d do sothing foolish, sothing you’d regret for a lifeti."

"If that’s the case, why did you still co out? What if I couldn’t brake in ti? What if the brakes failed?" At this thought, Ji Yunhuan felt extrely wronged, tears falling from her eyes.

But even so, she understood that Qi Cheng had rushed out for her own good.

Qi Cheng held her hand and said, "But I was more afraid you’d hit soone and have to bear the responsibility. The point is... even if I desperately protect you, your conscience would still be troubled."

Were it not for the incident with Ji Min that kept haunting Ji Yunhuan, she wouldn’t have done sothing so out of control today.

Therefore, Qi Cheng didn’t want such bloody things to happen in front of Ji Yunhuan.

He feared she’d carry the shadow of it forever and would always think back to these events.

She was his wife, ant to stand behind him, with his protection.

And all she needed to do was smile.

Ji Yunhuan lowered her head, "I was just so angry! Ji Min’s actions are inextricably linked to Xia Duo. Sotis I really don’t understand, why, at this point, she’d still do such things? What is she trying to achieve?"

Qi Cheng sat silently beside her, his mood adversely affected by Ji Yunhuan’s.

Ji Yunhuan leaned on his shoulder, "Sotis living feels so exhausting, constantly facing so many people with ulterior motives; Zhou Yixiu and Lin Xiang I can understand, but Xia Duo too. Even though she’s married, does she still want to make a move on you?"

"I’ll go talk to her about it," Qi Cheng held Ji Yunhuan’s hand, sensing the agitation within her.

She wasn’t soone who usually complained; when she did, it was proof she’d reached her limit.

Ji Yunhuan said gloomily, "She’s just waiting for you to find her!"

After all, Xia Duo’s purpose was to get Qi Cheng’s attention.

"Let drive!" Qi Cheng decided to drop the subject and said to Ji Yunhuan.

Ji Yunhuan gave him a surprised look, "Oh."

After speaking, Qi Cheng got out of the car, and Ji Yunhuan moved to the passenger seat, while Qi Cheng re-entered the car.

He drove away from the hotel, leaving the entourage behind, and continued driving out of the city. Ji Yunhuan looked at him confusedly, "Where are you going?"

"Just wandering around."

Ji Yunhuan was in a bad mood, and a drive was just what she needed to clear her head.

Looking out the window, she realized that with how busy they’d been lately, it had been a long ti since she and Qi Cheng went out like this.

Qi Cheng drove all the way to the mountaintop. After parking the car, he looked at Ji Yunhuan and said, "Let’s get out!"

Ji Yunhuan unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car. From here, they could see the forest and lake not far in the distance.

It was autumn; the scenery was beautiful. The leaves were turning yellow, and a few evergreen trees stood out in the forest. The wind blowing up from the valley seed capable of sweeping away all worries as Ji Yunhuan stood with Qi Cheng by the window, gazing into the distance.

Qi Cheng looked at the scenery, "We’ve been too busy lately, haven’t even had the ti to take a walk with you, that’s my oversight."

"What oversight?"

He held Ji Yunhuan’s hand, pressing her slender fingers in his, "You almost did sothing so reckless, yet I’ve been leaving you unattended, imrsed in my work."

"It’s not your fault, it’s mine. I was too impulsive." Ji Yunhuan, calming down, felt more and more guilty, apologizing, "I know I was wrong, could you please stop ntioning it?"

It was as if he were intentionally punishing her by retreating like this.

Qi Cheng listened to Ji Yunhuan’s words and smiled slightly, "I’m concerned about you, not punishing you. Why do you have such a reluctant expression?"

"You’re clearly criticizing ." He just couldn’t bring himself to be harsh, so he deliberately let her feel guilty.

Qi Cheng chuckled, "At ho, you’re the boss; how dare I criticize you?"

Ji Yunhuan looked at their intertwined hands, "You don’t have to worry about . I’ve said I won’t do sothing like that again."

"Really?" Qi Cheng looked at her curiously, "But why do I feel like you’re not very convincing?"

"Do you really take for a three-year-old child?" Ji Yunhuan glared at him sharply.

Qi Cheng suddenly pulled her closer with force, wrapping his arms around her waist, "If you were a child, that would be great, at least you’d be obedient and not a bother. Not like now, where I have to cautiously guess what you’re thinking every day."

"Am I really that terrifying?" Being so close, Ji Yunhuan felt a bit breathless, her voice trembling slightly.

"I’m afraid of you being wronged or that I’d upset you, and I worry you’ll do sothing foolish," Qi Cheng whispered against her forehead, "You have two kids already; you’re not who you used to be, so think a bit more before you act."

"I’ve got no brains. Being with you too long has made stupid." Ji Yunhuan indeed regretted having such terrible thoughts.

Qi Cheng lowered his head and gently kissed her cheek, saying no more.

The two of them embraced like that for a while, with an ambiance so quiet it seed they could hear the passage of ti.

Leaning in his arms, Ji Yunhuan finally spoke after a lengthy silence, "Qi Cheng."

"Yes?"

"I want to stay together like this with you forever."

She truly felt that the world was too complex, and only by his side could she feel secure and safe, without having to sche against anything.

Qi Cheng laughed, "Don’t want the kids anymore?"
