Ji Yunhuan lowered her head and planted a warm kiss on his forehead, her lips carrying a gentle heat as she gazed at him affectionately, "Being by your side, I’m not tired at all. I’ll just make you so plain porridge, it’s no trouble. You’ve caught a cold, you probably don’t have much of an appetite, right?"
She placed her hand on his stomach, "Don’t let the cold co with a stomachache, that would be worriso."
Listening to Ji Yunhuan, Qi Cheng smiled and said, "Honey, you’re wonderful."
Ji Yunhuan knew he agreed. She understood Qi Cheng very well; he rarely eats properly, so he eats even worse when he’s sick.
She quickly got out of bed and went to the kitchen. She had brought the rice herself, having planned for this all along.
By the ti Ji Yunhuan had finished cooking the porridge, Qi Cheng had already fallen asleep, which showed the dication was strong.
She placed the bowl of porridge to the side, not rushing to wake him up, just silently watching the man quietly.
Though this trip was a bit tiring for her, Ji Yunhuan didn’t regret coming here.
After seeing him, her heart cald down, no longer worrying about him as she did at the company.
Once the porridge had cooled down a bit, she woke Qi Cheng up.
After sleeping for a while, Qi Cheng smiled upon seeing Ji Yunhuan; his mood always lifted whenever he saw her, and he slept more soundly with her by his side.
"The porridge’s ready, have so, it’s almost cold now." She sat on the edge of the bed and fed a spoonful to his lips. It was cooked so soft, it wasn’t greasy at all.
"Is it good?" Ji Yunhuan asked with concern.
Qi Cheng responded, "Delicious, it’s even better than what five-star hotel chefs make. My wife is amazing."
"Then have so more." Ji Yunhuan smiled along as he jokingly comnted.
After attending to Qi Cheng and chatting with him in bed for a while, he was soon asleep after taking his dicine, and Ji Yunhuan didn’t disturb him, keeping an eye on him throughout the night in case his fever got worse.
Fortunately, by midnight, the fever subsided.
The following morning, Qi Cheng had a eting. Knowing Ji Yunhuan had stayed by his side all night, he lowered his head and kissed this woman who traveled from a thousand miles away to take care of him.
He thought, marrying her was the wisest decision he ever made in his life.
Qi Cheng went to his eting, leaving Ji Yunhuan at the hotel to catch up on sleep.
Assistant Gao noticed Qi Cheng was much more spirited today and joked, "Did Madam bring a panacea? Just one night and sir’s illness is cured."
"I wasn’t that sick to begin with." Just tired sotis, lowering his defenses, causing discomfort.
Of course, grateful for Ji Yunhuan taking care of him all night.
If she took such care of him and he wasn’t well, Qi Cheng would feel embarrassed.
After the eting, Qi Cheng rushed back to the hotel and took Ji Yunhuan for a al nearby. Since Ji Yunhuan rarely visited B City, they went on a little tour, bought so local specialties before Qi Cheng saw her off at the airport.
Looking at Ji Yunhuan, Qi Cheng said, "Take care of yourself after you go back, don’t overexert, I’ll return Sunday night."
"I know." Ji Yunhuan gazed into his eyes, smiling, "It’s not like we won’t see each other anymore. Though strangely, I never want to be apart from you."
She expressed her feelings without reservation, and Qi Cheng felt happiness hearing her; he gripped her hand tighter, " too."
"Then I’m off." The boarding call urged, Ji Yunhuan needed to return to work, not wanting to miss her flight.
Qi Cheng stood outside, watching her enter the boarding gate.
-
The weekend arrived, Qi Cheng returned ho earlier than Ji Yunhuan expected. Initially, she thought he’d co back late, yet he was ho by the ti she finished work and even ca to the door to pick her up.
Since the weather in City A was relatively warm, he wore just a blue shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
Seeing Ji Yunhuan alight from the car, Qi Cheng smiled and asked, "Happy to see ?"
"I knew you were coming back earlier, so not that happy." Despite saying, she went over and held his hand; her every move contradicted her words, showing how she was a woman who said one thing yet ant another.
Because Qi Cheng got back earlier, the whole family went out for dinner, even inviting second brother and sister-in-law.
Unexpectedly, they encountered a nuisance.
Ji Yunhuan never anticipated Lin Xiang would co all the way to City A to trouble her and sister-in-law, and she wasn’t alone; Yun Qinghang accompanied her.
This man pampered Lin Xiang excessively, willing to follow her to this place and be shaless!
Sure enough, as soon as Lin Xiang saw Ji Yunhuan and sister-in-law, she approached, "What a coincidence, eting you here."
Every encounter with Lin Xiang left sister-in-law seething.
She wished she could get rid of this despicable woman.
Noticing sister-in-law’s tightly clenched hands, Lin Xiang wore a mocking smile and feigned friendliness, "Sister-in-law isn’t too well, why not stay ho? Getting out like this, if people see your current state, it would perhaps upset you!"
All the while, her gaze dropped to sister-in-law’s leg, though her words were polite, her eyes revealed contempt.
If second brother and Yun Qinghang weren’t here, she might have spewed insults at sister-in-law like last ti.
Ji Yunhuan looked at Lin Xiang, "We ca here to enjoy a al peacefully, yet you’re causing a fuss?"
After last ti’s incident with aunt, Ji Yunhuan had grown wary of this woman.
Usually after causing trouble, this nuisance would make false accusations.
Lin Xiang feigned innocence, "Just greeting acquaintances, showing care for sister-in-law, why rush Ji Yunhuan?"
"Care?" Ji Yunhuan chuckled, "You call this caring for sister-in-law?"
Lin Xiang was indifferent, "Everyone hears, how am I not caring for sister-in-law? If you don’t like , just say so!"
"You..."
Seeing Ji Yunhuan upset, Yun Qinghang stepped forward, intent on protecting Lin Xiang.
If a dispute with him arose, today’s al would be ruined, so Ji Yunhuan restrained herself.
She believed future opportunities to put Lin Xiang in her place would arise.
Sister-in-law remarked to Lin Xiang, "Thank you for your ’care.’ People here are civilized and won’t mock a woman in a wheelchair."
"You..."
Lin Xiang glared at sister-in-law, her words implied Lin Xiang lacked civility.
Considering Yun Qinghang was present, she held back to avoid showing her unappealing side. Her gaze shifted onto second brother...
