Though her actions were gentle, Ji Yunhuan felt uncomfortable seeing her touch her son.
She was about to reach out to stop Lin Zhenyu when she saw her withdraw her hand. Lin Zhenyu softly reminded her, "But children are the most likely to fall. You must be careful. If he falls and breaks an arm or a leg, that wouldn’t be good."
Ji Yunhuan widened her eyes, glaring at Lin Zhenyu. "Are you threatening ? Lin Zhenyu, you better not target my child, or I won’t let you get away with it."
Using Ruirui to threaten her was despicable!
Lin Zhenyu innocently said, "Ms. Ji, are you paranoid? I was just kindly reminding you to take good care of your child. How is that a threat?"
She glanced disdainfully at Ji Yunhuan, then turned and walked away.
Ji Yunhuan watched her retreating figure, clenching her fists.
Zhou Yixiu ca out and saw Ji Yunhuan still standing there. He asked, "Ms. Ji, are you feeling unwell?"

Ji Yunhuan gently held his hand with her left hand. "Do you miss Daddy?"

"Have you already forgotten Qi Cheng?" Ji Yunhuan asked. "The one who took care of you every day. Rember?"
"Oh..." His thoughtful reaction made Ji Yunhuan laugh. She bent down and kissed his cheek. "Good baby, ti to sleep."
Ji Yunhuan woke after just a few hours of sleep. Staring at the dark room, she couldn’t help but recall Lin Zhenyu’s words.
She felt there was deep aning in that woman’s words.
She looked at Ruirui beside her, listening to his shallow breathing, determined to protect him.
The next morning, Ji Yunhuan woke up a bit late. She didn’t want to get up too early. Breakfast was brought up by the maid. Before eating, she specifically checked the food, worried that Lin Zhenyu might have tampered with it.
It turned out to be just her overthinking.
There was nothing wrong.
Seeing her finally eat with peace of mind, the maid asked, "I prepared all this by myself. Does Ms. Ji not trust ?"
"It’s not that I don’t trust you. I don’t trust your madam. Her words last night made uneasy." Ji Yunhuan took so bread to feed Ruirui, afraid he might choke, so she only dared to give him small bites.
Ruirui ate happily.

The maid’s naive belief made Ji Yunhuan smile, but she didn’t explain. However, the maid’s perception would soon change.
Ji Yunhuan couldn’t hold Ruirui with her arm, so she let the maid do it. After breakfast, they left the room, only to find an unknown substance sared on the floor. The maid carrying Ruirui slipped and fell down the stairs. Ji Yunhuan’s heart nearly stopped. Luckily, the maid cared for Ruirui, holding him tightly without letting go, so Ruirui wasn’t hurt.
Ji Yunhuan tested the floor with her foot, unable to identify the substance.
But she knew Lin Zhenyu had sothing to do with it.
The maid’s cry as she fell attracted other maids. Ji Yunhuan carefully went downstairs and asked, "Zhen Ni, are you okay?"
She grimaced in pain, "Ms. Ji, I think I broke my leg."
"Call the doctor." Ji Yunhuan instructed.
A maid quickly went to get the doctor.
Ruirui was already being carried by another maid. Placed in front of Ji Yunhuan, she examined him. "Ruirui, are you hurt?"
Ruirui seed to understand that Zhen Ni had saved him and pointed at her. Ji Yunhuan was very grateful to Zhen Ni.
Though Zhen Ni was Zhou Yixiu’s person, she was genuinely kind to Ruirui.
Zhou Yixiu and Lin Zhenyu had already co down using another staircase. Seeing the scene, Lin Zhenyu asked with concern, "What’s going on here?"
The doctor had arrived, examining Zhen Ni. After finishing, he said, "Her leg is fractured. She needs plenty of rest in the coming days."
Watching Zhen Ni’s painful expression, Ji Yunhuan’s gaze fell on Lin Zhenyu, whose eyes were filled with glee. She ca over, feigning concern, but whispered to Ji Yunhuan, "You were lucky."
Ji Yunhuan had expected it was her doing and wasn’t surprised at all.
Zhen Ni was taken to a room to rest.
Ji Yunhuan didn’t trust anyone else with Ruirui. Holding him with one arm, she walked over to the sofa where Zhou Yixiu and Lin Zhenyu were seated. Ji Yunhuan put Ruirui on the sofa; he had grown, and she couldn’t hold him for long with one arm.
Besides, she had a score to settle with Lin Zhenyu.
