Ji Yunhuan looked at her son and couldn’t help but soften. Everything she endured now, she endured for her son. This was also the price she had to pay for bringing him back. Thinking of this made her heart not so heavy. She reached out her hand towards Yangyang. Yangyang ca over, staring at her. "Why didn’t you take with you when you went out?"

Ji Yunhuan was taken aback, then smiled. "What, did you miss ?"

Yangyang frowned and stared at Ji Yunhuan, very unhappy. "When I woke up, you were gone."

"Because I went out for a while."

"Did you go to Grandma’s house?"

"Yes." Ji Yunhuan said, "Next ti, I’ll take you with ."

"You said the sa thing yesterday." Yesterday, when Yangyang learned Ji Yunhuan had gone to the Qi Family without him, he threw a fit. Ji Yunhuan, to pacify him, had to promise to take him next ti. She didn’t expect Yangyang to rember this.

She apologized, "Today I left in a hurry. You weren’t up yet, so I didn’t call you."

"I want Mom." Clearly, Yangyang was referring to his second sister-in-law.

Upon hearing this, Ji Yunhuan’s face darkened. "In your eyes, she is the only mom, right? No matter what I do, you will never see as your mother."

"You were never my mom!"

"Yes, I was never your mom." Having endured so much today, Ji Yunhuan felt bitter, as if she had swallowed a bitter lon. She smiled at Yangyang, eyes filled with bitterness.

Bai Liyan saw her sadness and sensed her displeasure. He said to her, "Yunhuan, Yangyang is just a child."

Ji Yunhuan let go of Yangyang and stood up without speaking to him. Yangyang could sense Ji Yunhuan was angry, he looked at her back in confusion. Normally, Ji Yunhuan wouldn’t get mad at him. Regardless of what he said or did, she always indulged him.

But today, Ji Yunhuan was in an extrely bad mood. After being set up by her second sister-in-law and scolded by everyone in the family, Yangyang still only thought of his second sister-in-law.

Bai Liyan watched the scene and took Yangyang outside to play.

At dinner, Ji Yunhuan didn’t fuss over Yangyang like she usually did. Even as his mother, she needed to indulge him, but a person’s patience is limited.

She was already in a bad mood today. Because of this, she barely spoke to Qi Cheng in the afternoon.

She didn’t eat much dinner either. After putting down her bowl, she stood up and said, "I’m full. You all take your ti."

Bai Liyan looked at her. "You didn’t even have lunch today."

"I’m full." Ji Yunhuan stood up and went upstairs.

Bai Liyan sighed, glancing at Qi Cheng. "Is this how you care for her? If you can’t even manage your family, don’t force her to stay with you."

Qi Cheng looked at Bai Liyan sensitively, put down his bowl, and went upstairs too.

Bai Liyan’s gaze fell on Yangyang’s face. Clearly, Ji Yunhuan’s coldness made him sowhat at a loss.

Bai Liyan extended a hand, gently stroking his head. "Seeing Mom unhappy, doesn’t it make Yangyang feel sad?"

"She is not my mom."

"You know she is." Bai Liyan gently looked at him. "Yunhuan cares about you a lot. She’s in a bad mood today. Seeing you dislike her so much surely makes her very sad."

Yangyang went silent after hearing Bai Liyan’s words.

Ji Yunhuan stood alone on the rooftop, stargazing. She hadn’t done anything, but she felt exhausted. The door behind her opened, and soone ca in, but she didn’t react. Only when she felt a gentle tug on her clothes did she look down, surprisingly finding it was Yangyang.

"Are you angry?" Yangyang’s young voice held a hint of coolness.

Ji Yunhuan squatted down, looking at her son’s serious expression. To her surprise, it seed like he felt guilty.

She nodded sullenly, "A little."

Yangyang pursed his small lips and uttered three words, "I’m sorry."

At that mont, Ji Yunhuan felt...

A bit unbelievable. She couldn’t believe it. "Why are you apologizing to ?"

"He told to." Yangyang pointed behind him. Ji Yunhuan glanced, seeing no one at the door.

But Bai Liyan, who had been hiding by the door, heard Yangyang selling him out and had no choice but to co out. He looked at Yangyang, sighed helplessly, "Didn’t I tell you not to say it was ?"

He looked at Ji Yunhuan. "I just saw you were unhappy and told him to cheer you up."

"How did you persuade him?"

"I have my ways."

Yangyang’s apology greatly improved Ji Yunhuan’s mood, which had been depressed all day.

She reached out and hugged her son. Bai Liyan walked over, looking at her. "Feeling better now?"

Ji Yunhuan said, "Yes."

"I’ve never seen anyone fight with their own son."

For several days after, no one from the family contacted them. Only Qi Ling showed up once.

Even though they weren’t at the Qi Family house, that atmosphere still lood over here.

Fortunately, Yangyang knew Ji Yunhuan disliked hearing about his second sister-in-law, so he tried not to ntion her in front of Ji Yunhuan even if he missed her.

But Ji Yunhuan could still see Yangyang’s thoughts from his forlorn eyes. To make him happier, she decided to send him to school where there were teachers and classmates to play with, hoping he would think less about unhappy things.

After dropping Yangyang off at kindergarten, Ji Yunhuan didn’t rush to leave and wandered around the street. A car stopped beside her. To her surprise, Bai Liyan’s mother peered out of the window.

Ji Yunhuan looked at her in surprise. "Auntie, why are you here?"

"I ca to see Liyan." Auntie smiled at Ji Yunhuan, who got in the car. Auntie’s worried gaze fell on her face. "I heard about what happened at the Qi Family that day. I wanted to co see you, and it just happened that I ran into you on the street."

Ji Yunhuan said, "That incident was a while ago. I’m fine now."

"But you still seem unhappy." Auntie sharply detected Ji Yunhuan’s frustration.

Ji Yunhuan gave a helpless smile. "It’s sothing else."

"Can you tell about it?" Auntie always cared a lot for Ji Yunhuan. Even though Ji Yunhuan was now with Qi Cheng, Auntie still treated her like her own child.

Ji Yunhuan didn’t hide from Auntie and talked about Yangyang’s matter—no matter how long Yangyang stayed with her, he still thought of his second sister-in-law. anwhile, her relationship with the second sister-in-law was so strained that peaceful coexistence was impossible.

Auntie sighed helplessly. "For every mother, the most difficult thing is dealing with her child’s issues. Your own child can never be as obedient as soone else’s. But despite everything, you can’t abandon him. That’s the greatness of every mother."
