Ji Yunhuan’s face stiffened as she prepared to push him away. Just then, the voice of the female housekeeper ca from outside the door, "Sir, Dr. Bai is here."

Qi Cheng released her and walked out.

Qi Cheng lay on the bed. Bai Liyan stood by the side and asked professionally, "How does your body feel right now?"

"Dizzy. Want to vomit."

"You drank too much last night. You really went all out to protect your wife."

"Not really." Qi Cheng answered calmly, without modesty.

Bai Liyan glanced at the wound on his head, "But it looks like your relationship with your wife isn’t that good!"

His insinuating tone did not go unnoticed by Qi Cheng. He squinted at the man before him, "What, you’re ddling in my family affairs so early in the morning?"

"It seems you’re well aware of how you got hurt, aren’t you?"

Yet, he intentionally didn’t ntion it. Looking at the once dignified Mr. Qi now in such a sorry state, Bai Liyan couldn’t help but feel good, "I kept wondering why the na Ji Yunhuan sounded so familiar. It suddenly ca to last night. Qi Cheng, you’re really boring. Calculating against others like this—aren’t you afraid you’ll end up calculating yourself one day?"

Qi Cheng glanced at him coldly, "No such thing will happen."

Calculate himself?

Impossible!

Bai Liyan looked at him intently, seemingly not believing his words at all, "I’ve never seen a woman who suits you as well as she does, standing by your side. It’s normal for you to like her."

"You talk as if you’re interested in her," Qi Cheng retorted sarcastically.

"You know that in my eyes, n and won are the sa. My interest lies only in dical research." Bai Liyan’s gaze beca profound, his voice steady, "I hope my two brothers won’t both fall for the sa woman one day."

"You stay away from her." Qi Cheng sharply sensed Bai Liyan’s displeasure.

Bai Liyan stood aside, holding a pen, jotting down Qi Cheng’s condition on the paper, "Why are you so anxious? Even though she’s your wife now, I’ll respect her as I would a sister-in-law. Even when she wasn’t with you, I had no interest in her. Unlike you, I don’t have an interest in helping friends that much, nor would I sacrifice my own marriage."

Qi Cheng lay on the bed, tiredly closing his eyes. Ji Yunhuan had already changed her clothes and walked out of the dressing room.

He had drunk a lot last night and got injured. It seed he had fallen asleep again. She couldn’t help but tread lightly, walking to his side, trying to cover him with a quilt. But as soon as she grabbed the edge, his eyes opened.

They locked gazes. Ji Yunhuan quickly stepped back, explaining, "I just wanted to cover you with the quilt."

Wouldn’t he think she was trying to harm him based on the female housekeeper’s words?

"If you were being considerate, why are you feeling guilty?" Qi Cheng looked at her amusedly.

"Guilty? I’m not. It’s just that the housekeeper kept saying I hard you. I’m afraid you might think the sa," she explained.

Qi Cheng looked at her sympathetically, "That really wronged you. I’ll retrieve the surveillance footage from the room later to clear your na. No need to feel so pressured."

"..." Ji Yunhuan looked at him in disbelief, "This room has surveillance caras?"

"Of course," Qi Cheng said matter-of-factly, "But since it’s my room, it’s private. No one else has the access to view it except ."

"Oh, I see..." She pretended to understand.

But inside, she was in a panic.

What to do?

She looked around and indeed found a cara in the room.

Qi Cheng watched her maintaining a calm outward deanor while internally panicking and did not expose her. He just said, "I’ve agreed to clear your na. Why don’t you look happy at all?"

Happy, my foot!

Ji Yunhuan walked back to the sofa and sat down, "Actually, this little thing isn’t much. The housekeeper is just worried about you. I don’t care at all about being wronged. Mr. Qi should just take good care of yourself. Your health is what everyone cares about."

"You are my wife. Wronging you is wronging . I’m clear about right and wrong and won’t let such a thing happen. The injury on my head is minor. Don’t worry about it." He was determined to clear her na.

Ji Yunhuan didn’t expect him to give up the idea. If this continued, it would only arouse his suspicion. She was struggling between admitting her wrong and tampering with the footage when soone knocked on the door.

The female housekeeper ca in with a hangover soup for Qi Cheng, followed by Xie Xingwei.

Xie Xingwei was the only woman Qi Cheng had been in contact with over the past three months. Although he was flirtatious, he never dated two won at the sa ti. Recently, his contact with Xie Xingwei had been minimal. Their relationship was nearing its end, which was why Xie Xingwei took the initiative to find Qi Cheng.

Upon hearing that Qi Cheng was injured, she rushed over.

The female housekeeper placed the soup on the table beside Qi Cheng and said, "Sir, this is the hangover soup I made. After drinking it, you should feel better."

He had been drunk the whole night. Surely, he felt unwell.

He seldom drank like that. It was said it was all because of Ji Yunhuan. Not only did Ji Yunhuan not feel sorry for him, but she also did that kind of thing to Qi Cheng. Thinking of this made the housekeeper extrely upset.

"Just leave it."

Qi Cheng’s gaze fell on Xie Xingwei, "Why are you here?"

"I heard you were injured, so I ca to see you." The concern in her eyes was undeniable.

Qi Cheng’s face showed only impatience, "Ms. Xie, you’re overstepping. Do you need to remind you of the first clause of our contract?"

Unless he invited her, she couldn’t co to see him on her own. Yet, this was the second ti she had violated that rule.

Especially since he and Ji Yunhuan were already married. Out of respect for Ji Yunhuan, he naturally didn’t want her to see him with other won.

Ji Yunhuan was also looking at Xie Xingwei at this mont, but her thoughts were completely different from Qi Cheng’s.

Never had she felt that Xie Xingwei’s presence was such a salvation.

She stood up and followed up on Qi Cheng’s words, "What’s the matter? As Mr. Qi’s woman, it’s right for her to visit when you’re ill. Does Mr. Qi wish for his woman to be heartless and unfeeling?"

"..." Was she deliberately trying to make him look bad?

Qi Cheng stared at Ji Yunhuan intensely.

Ji Yunhuan also looked at Qi Cheng unflinchingly, and deliberately said, "Seeing Ms. Xie caring about you, Mr. Qi is actually very happy inside, just that it’s inconvenient to show it, so he’s acting cold. Ms. Xie, you don’t need to mind."

"Really?" A glimr of hope appeared in Xie Xingwei’s eyes.
