Ji Yunhuan’s heart skipped a beat. She had a vague sense of unease and quickly returned to the main house to check the surveillance footage. As it turned out, they had left fifty minutes earlier with the family driver responsible for taking Su Zi out.
Ji Yunhuan instructed a servant to call the driver. The driver returned quickly, but when asked about Su Zi and Chenchen, he couldn’t provide clear answers.
At this ti, Ji Yunhuan didn’t need to think much. She was already certain that Su Zi had run away with Chenchen and had taken no one with them.
The maids responsible for looking after Chenchen stood to the side, not daring to breathe loudly. Whenever it ca to matters concerning Chenchen, Ji Yunhuan’s temper would beco much worse. They had long felt the sting of her anger.
Seeing them standing there, Ji Yunhuan felt irritated. "What are you all standing here for? Go and find them!"
Qi Cheng ca out of the room and saw Ji Yunhuan standing anxiously at the door. He walked over. "What’s wrong?"
She knew Chenchen was missing but didn’t go to him and instead arranged for people to search for Chenchen on her own.
Ji Yunhuan didn’t want to bother him. She wasn’t the type to think of him imdiately when sothing happened.
She felt uneasy and slowly explained the situation to Qi Cheng. "Su Zi and Chenchen are missing. They ran away."
Qi Cheng’s eyes darkened as well. "Just the two of them?"
"Yeah, the driver who took them out just ca back, and he doesn’t know where they went." As she spoke, Ji Yunhuan felt her face stiffening.
To avoid being found, Su Zi had even left her phone at ho.
Qi Cheng made a phone call, arranging for more personnel to search for the two of them. He knew that with Chenchen’s health condition, they couldn’t go out alone. Even when Chenchen went out, Bai Liyan always accompanied him.
After making the call, Qi Cheng comforted Ji Yunhuan. "Don’t worry too much. With so many people looking, we’ll find them."
Ji Yunhuan stood to the side, her fingers digging into her palm, the pain unnoticed. Her eyes were as dark as ink. "I should have noticed earlier. Su Zi seed strange when she ca back today."
"Maybe it’s because her parents oppose them being together that she made such a decision. She’s just a kid. She doesn’t always think things through." Qi Cheng was also very anxious. He looked at Ji Yunhuan. "You stay inside. I’ll go find Chenchen."
"No need." Ji Yunhuan took the car keys and went to the garage herself. Waiting was worse than killing her.
Watching her stubborn back, Qi Cheng frowned but didn’t follow.
He just sent two people to follow her.
Leaving the Qi Family house, Ji Yunhuan searched along the route they had left. She knew that with Su Zi’s cleverness, it wouldn’t be easy to find them.
When Su Zi’s parents heard about her disappearance, they were equally surprised.
"She has always been obedient. It’s impossible for her to do such a thing."
Qi Cheng said, "There’s no such thing as impossible. She’s already eighteen, no longer a little girl. She has her own thoughts."
"Qi Cheng," Su’s mother sensed Qi Cheng’s displeasure. "I know she’s been very close to that Chenchen recently. But as parents, do you think we can allow her to be with that boy? Not to ntion that he’s a Ji Family mber. Just look at his condition. Can he give Su Zi a future?"
"Maybe kids’ thoughts are immature and irrational, but they prefer to follow their hearts." Qi Cheng knew he couldn’t convince Su’s parents. People never think from a different perspective.
In their eyes, Chenchen had no future. Naturally, they didn’t want Su Zi to fall for him.
Su Zi and Chenchen didn’t stay at a hotel. She had borrowed a friend’s house. Chenchen followed her, looking at her. "Su Zi."
Su Zi stopped and looked back at the handso boy under the light. Illness had made his face pale, but it couldn’t hide that he was a beautiful boy who could make people obsessed with him. She was surprised. She had just asked him if he wanted to co with her, and he had co out without asking anything.
She stopped, took his hand, her voice soft and a bit helpless. "Chenchen."
"What happened?" Normally, she wouldn’t make such a request.
Su Zi said, "My parents are taking away. They don’t want to be with you. If I go, I won’t see you again."
Chenchen wasn’t surprised to hear her say this. He had anticipated this outco early on. It wasn’t suitable between him and her, and he couldn’t give her a future.
However, he hadn’t expected Su Zi to make such a decision for him.
He held her hand instead. "If you do this, they’ll worry."
Su Zi nodded. "I know, but... I don’t want to leave you."
She knew bringing him out was a rash move.
She took the keys, opened the door in front of them, and went in, holding his hand. "They must be searching for us everywhere. When we go back, my parents will be angry and take away. They don’t want to be with you."
So, she didn’t want to go back.
"Maybe they’re right too." His beautiful eyes showed a hint of sadness.
She really shouldn’t be with him.
Su Zi looked back, her beautiful eyes staring at him. "Don’t say that. You know it took a lot of courage for to bring you out."
He was taken aback and knew that everything she did was for him. So, he nodded. "Okay."
Su Zi opened the door and went in. This house wasn’t very big, but it had everything inside. Su Zi looked around. "Believe , I’ll take care of you. I’ll make sure you live well."
She just wanted to prove that even with him, things wouldn’t be a problem.
Chenchen looked at her determination and said nothing.
He walked to her, held her in his arms. "I should be the one taking care of you."
Though he knew he didn’t have that ability.
Though he knew he was just a useless person who couldn’t even take care of himself.
Yet...
If he couldn’t even give her such a simple promise, how could he deserve her giving up everything for him?
This sudden hug made Su Zi freeze for a mont. He was taller than her, and she looked delicate in his arms.
Even though she would always hug him boldly when she was happy, this was the first ti he had hugged her on his own. It made her heart race.
She took his hand, stepped out from his embrace, and looked into his eyes. "You don’t bla for bringing you out like this? Your sister will definitely scold you."
