At exactly six, just as Tristan had promised, Aria received a ssage from him, telling her that a car was already waiting outside her dorm.
Aria glanced at her already packed bag and carried it downstairs. She was actually expecting Cole to have been the one sent to take her to Tristan Villa, but instead she saw a beautiful blonde girl, standing beside the car, Tristan had described for her.
"You are Aria, right?" The girl asked when she saw Aria’s luggage.
Aria nodded and said, "I was actually expecting Cole."
"Cole is a busy man. If not for the Alpha, he would never have associated with a drama queen like you." Sasha replied and placed Aria’s luggage at the back of the car.
Aria frowned at Sasha’s comnt and asked, "And what makes a drama queen?" If it had been any other day, she would have taken those words silently, but today was already going shitty for her, and she wasn’t in the mood for soone to make her day worse.
Sasha scoffed and said, "Looks like we have a feisty Luna; I guess pretending to faint isn’t your only talent."
"What?"
Sasha ignored her confused look and opened the back seat door for her. "Shall we go? The Alpha is already waiting for you."
Aria got into the car, but suddenly her eyes went blurry and she passed out.
....
Aria groaned softly as she woke up, her head spinning. Sitting upright, she quickly scanned her surroundings. She was in a large, unfamiliar room with sleek white couches and black curtains. A wave of panic washed over her. Where was she? How did she get here?
Before she could spiral further into fear, the door opened, and Tristan walked in, a smile on his face. "Welco to my villa," he said casually.
Aria looked at him and asked, "Why did you have to make unconscious before bringing here?"
"Believe , it is for your own benefit and protection." Tristan replied, walking closer.
"Is the location of your villa a secret?"
Tristan sat beside her on the bed, his expression calm. "Apart from my beta, Cole, and a few mbers of my pack, no one else knows where I stay, and it is for the best."
Aria’s heart sank as she rembered the bottle of pills that Alpha Milton had given her. She had kept it at the back of her pocket, and now, she couldn’t feel its weight there. Did Tristan find it?
"Are you alright?" Tristan asked when he noticed the uneasy look on her face.
"Did... did you take my dicine?"
Tristan opened the drawer beside her and brought out a bottle of pills but didn’t give it to her. "What is this for?" He asked.
"It... it’s for my grandmother." Aria said as she snatched the pills from his hand.
Tristan looked at her with an unreadable expression on his face.
"Do you have sothing to tell ?" He asked.
Aria looked at Tristan and wondered if she should tell him the truth. But first, she needed to know sothing. "Can I ask you a question?"
"Depends on the type of question you are about to ask."
"What happened to your first mate? Did you really kill her?"
"Do you think I killed her?" Tristan asked, looking at her intensely.
"I....." Aria’s chest tightened. Despite what everyone had told her about Tristan, despite how evil he had been portrayed to her, Aria found herself saying, "I don’t think you killed her."
Tristan raised an eyebrow in surprise and suddenly let out a chuckle. She was the first person to have believed in him without him having to explain himself first.
It reminded him of old tis. Even when he was at fault, Aitana would always defend him with her life. She would always believe what he said and not what others told her about him, and it was because of that she had died.
"If I say I didn’t, would you believe ?" He said, leaning closer to her.
Aria sat rooted to the bed even as his face ca close to her and replied without any hesitation, "I will believe."
Tristan’s hand gently caressed her cheek, and before she could think, his lips t hers. Her heart raced as she instinctively tried to kiss him back, but he pulled away, a teasing smile playing on his lips.
Tristan brushed his lips against hers as he whispered, "You said I was your first kiss, right?"
Aria nodded; she felt the warmth of her cheek, and she wondered what she was doing. Why does she always forget how to think whenever he cos close to her?
"Should I teach you?"
"Yes." Aria replied in a breathless whisper, and before their lips could join again, Tristan’s phone rang.
Tristan cursed out loudly and brought out his phone to see who was calling him.
He looked at Aria and said, "Give a minute."
Aria watched as he left the room to answer his call before facepalming herself. What is wrong with her? Why can’t she resist him?
Aria glanced at the pill that had fallen from her hand to the bed and wondered if Tristan knew what it was.
No, Alpha Milton had told her that even though a werewolf were to see the pills, they wouldn’t be able to know what it was because it has no scent, and if Tristan had known what it was, then he never would have kissed her like that.
In the living room, where Tristan had gone to answer his call, his eyes darkened as Cole kept talking about Aria’s grandmother.
"So she was poisoned?"
"Yes, but..."
"But?"
"Sothing is off. The doctor had said that she wasn’t supposed to have lasted for more than 48 hours. He said Aria had returned to the hospital with so antidote, and since then, the poison had stopped destroying the old woman’s organs. Where did you think she could have gotten an antidote to such a poison?" Cole curiously asked his Alpha.
"What about the other information I asked you to get?"
"I have asked Garry to investigate that... hold on, he just sent his findings." Cole said and suddenly went silent.
"You are wasting my ti. Speak."
"Aria’s friend, Hailey, cos from the Shadow Moon pack. Does this an that Aria coming into your life could be a plan of Alpha Milton?
Tristan’s mind returned back to the bottle of pills he had found and how Aria had told him that it was her grandmother’s pills, and a silent storm was brewing within him.
