Jas’s face darkened with malice.

He didn’t hesitate to shift all the bla onto Selina. "Mr. Reid, I sincerely apologize. This daughter of mine ca uninvited and even bullied her sister. I was just reprimanding her! She’s so thoughtless!"

Logan’s lips curved into a faint smile. "Is that so?"

Natalia gazed at him, her eyes filled with admiration and awe. A shy blush quickly spread across her cheeks.

It was her first ti encountering a man like this—aloof, commanding, and exuding an effortless aura of authority with every move.

She imagined how glorious and fulfilling it would be to be adored by such a man. This man should belong to her!

Eager to showcase her kindness, Natalia spoke up, feigning concern. "Mr. Reid, my sister only wanted to take a look around. Please don’t hold it against her."

Logan cast a sidelong glance at Natalia.

Noticing his attention, her heart raced, and her face flushed deeper as she pretended to plead on Selina’s behalf.

"I understand that won like her often resort to scheming just to step into Sapphire Valley Villa. But after all, she’s my sister. Could you spare her this ti, for my sake?"

The room fell into an uneasy silence.

Natalia smirked inwardly. Her words painted her as both elegant and compassionate—surely Logan would be moved.

However, Jack and the others exchanged increasingly baffled looks.

Selina blinked and broke the silence. "Mr. Reid, since my dear sister is so insistent, I’ll just leave."

Natalia froze, sensing sothing was off.

Logan’s calm voice cut through the tension. "Miss Clark, let clarify sothing. The eldest daughter of the Clark family is my guest. Natalia, Sapphire Valley Villa is not yours to control."

...

Natalia’s mind went blank as if an explosion had gone off.

W-what?!

Selina is Logan’s guest?!

Jas stood there, stunned, and instinctively blurted out, "That’s impossible—"

Selina replied nonchalantly, "Why not? Dad, you seem to have little confidence in . If even my illegitimate sister can be a guest of Mr. Reid, why can’t I?"

Natalia stumbled back, trembling with disbelief, as jealousy consud her.

No! She was supposed to be Mr. Reid’s honored guest. What was Selina compared to her? Everything she prided herself on felt like it had crumbled to dust in an instant.

Why was it Selina? Why her?!

Logan chuckled coldly, his tone indifferent. "It seems the two of you have strong opinions about my guest?"

Jas’s heart skipped a beat, and he hastily denied it. "No, no, not at all! I was just surprised, that’s all! Selina, your father only scolded you earlier because I was worried you’d offend Mr. Reid. It was all out of concern!"

Selina’s expression turned icy. "Concern? Dad, you and Natalia have been telling to leave since I got here. I can’t feel your concern at all."

Jas wiped the sweat from his brow nervously. "That’s... Selina, how can you say that? Natalia has always been worried about you!"

Selina let out a derisive laugh.

Natalia began to cry, tears streaming down her face as she covered her mouth in faux remorse. "I’m sorry, sister. I misunderstood you, and it’s all my fault. Please, don’t be mad. I’ll kneel and apologize if you want. Just forgive ..."

Selina nodded. "Go ahead and kneel."

Natalia’s face turned crimson, sha threatening to overwhelm her.

Selina couldn’t seriously expect her to kneel... could she?

"Selina!" Jas quickly intervened. "Enough! We’re here to discuss a business collaboration with Mr. Reid. Put your bad attitude aside and stop embarrassing us in front of him!"

Selina raised an eyebrow. "Dad, if you don’t want Natalia to kneel, you could just admit it. Why bla it on my so-called bad attitude?"

"You..." Jas was on the verge of a stroke. He took a deep breath and said, "Mr. Reid, let’s get down to business. About the Riverside Park project..."

Logan replied nonchalantly, "I’ve reviewed the proposal from the eldest daughter of the Clark Family. It’s indeed well done."

Jas, elated, forgot his earlier panic. "Then, Mr. Reid, does this an you’re willing to..."

"I’m willing to invest," Logan said casually. "Leave soone behind to discuss the terms of cooperation."

Jas was so thrilled he nearly passed out. "Natalia, did you hear that? Co over here, quickly!"

Natalia finally felt vindicated. With an air of triumph, she swayed her hips as she approached—only to be interrupted by Logan, who frowned slightly and said indifferently, "Mr. Clark, if we’re to discuss cooperation, it will either be with you or Selina. What’s the aning of sending Natalia?"

The room fell deathly silent.

Jas was stunned. "But... but didn’t you invite Natalia..."

"When did I ever say I wanted to work with Natalia? I just needed soone to serve tea and water," Logan said with a sneer. "Or are you telling , Mr. Clark, that you’d rather pass over Selina to support this second-rate substitute?"

Jas’s face flushed red with humiliation, burning like fire. Natalia’s expression stiffened awkwardly, her eyes welling up with tears.

How could this happen? Mr. Reid had no gentlemanly manners! She was so beautiful—couldn’t he show even a shred of rcy? What did he an by calling her over just to serve tea? Was she really inferior to Selina?

Jas stamred, "I... I didn’t an it like that. It’s just, just..."

Finally, gritting his teeth, he said, "Mr. Reid, I fully acknowledge Selina’s abilities, but her character is abominable! As her father, if I wasn’t so disappointed in her, why would I ever give up on her?"

Logan raised an eyebrow lazily. "Do tell."

Jas let out a dramatic sigh. "My eldest daughter frequently stays out overnight with different n. Mr. Reid, I’m thinking of your reputation here..."

"She’s from the countryside, with a chaotic private life. Not long ago, she even tried to seduce her sister’s fiancé. If she were involved in this collaboration, what if she deliberately seduced you? Natalia wouldn’t do such things. She’s a pure and upright young lady!"

Logan’s sneer deepened.

So, this was Mrs. Reid’s father.

Defaming and trampling on his own daughter in front of her, all to elevate an illegitimate child.

Selina subtly signaled to Miller Butler.

Miller Butler imdiately stepped forward. "Sir, I’m aware of this situation. Natalia ntioned it to earlier. If the Clark Family’s eldest daughter would stoop to targeting her brother-in-law, it’s clear she can’t remain around you."

Natalia smirked inwardly, relieved she had spoken to Miller Butler earlier.

With tears brimming in her eyes, she said softly, "Dad, please, stop. Don’t say anymore..."

Jas, however, appeared righteously indignant. "How can I not speak up? Natalia, you’ve already suffered too much because of Selina. I won’t stay silent any longer!"

"Mr. Reid, as you can see, Selina tried to beco a howrecker and destroy her sister’s marriage. With such morals, how can I entrust her with the collaboration?"

Selina almost wanted to applaud.

Jas’s ability to twist the truth was remarkable. It was almost a pity he wasn’t in theater. If she weren’t the one being slandered, she might have believed him herself.

"Well then, Mr. Clark, you must be a very devoted father," Logan said, raising an eyebrow casually.

"But, how curious—why have I heard that the one engaged to Ryan is none other than the Clark Family’s eldest daughter?"
