Selina was equally straightforward. "Miss Paula, you know very well whether or not there’s really a marriage contract between you and Logan."

Paula’s heart skipped, her face tightening. "So what? There’s nothing I want that I can’t have."

Selina arched a brow. "So Miss Paula knowingly forged a marriage contract to interfere in my marriage, even though Logan is already married?"

Paula sneered. "The truth is, you just don’t asure up to —your status is beneath mine, and your skills are inferior. Interfering? Please. Don’t you know what happens to a man favored by a princess? Even if he’s married, that wife will only end up dead. The fact I haven’t made you disappear already is showing rcy."

"Selina, you’d better learn your place, or I’ll make sure you die without a trace!"

"In that case, there’s nothing more to discuss. Show her out."

Selina nodded.

At first, she had wanted to know if Paula had been deceived by Alia, or if there was so other reason. Paula was detestable, but if she had truly been tricked into believing the "marriage contract" was real and only wanted Logan because of that, Selina might have given her a way out.

But now, it was clear Paula knew everything—and still wanted her dead. Selina couldn’t be blad for showing no rcy.

...

A few days later.

Though Reid Family Group had declared bankruptcy, it was still the center of attention.

That morning, Alia suddenly sought out the dia, tearfully accusing Logan—trying to weaponize "family ties." She claid he ignored blood relations, broke off his marriage arrangent, and crushed Reid Family Group until it could no longer resist.

She demanded to know why Logan, fully aware of the engagent with Miss Paula, still married Selina. Now Logan had abandoned them, leaving a wreck behind for the Reid Family.

Reid Family Group had already collapsed and was in no position to withstand Duke William’s pressure. And all of it, she said, was Logan’s fault.

The mont those words were spoken, with others fanning the flas, public opinion quickly shifted.

[Owen made mistakes and deserved punishnt. But Chairman Reid and Madam Reid are Mr. Reid’s biological parents. They raised him—how can he be so irresponsible?]

[He knew about the engagent yet ignored it. Did Logan ever stop to think who Duke William is? Betraying his daughter—what will happen to the Reid Family now?]

[The Reid Family is truly pitiful. They raised Logan, and not only does he show no gratitude, he dragged them into ruin.]

[Even if Reid Family Group’s bankruptcy was their own fault, it’s clear Duke William’s pressure ca because of Logan. Shouldn’t Logan take responsibility?]

[If Logan had just broken off the engagent early, no one would’ve complained. But instead, he strung Miss Paula along, reaped the benefits of being Duke William’s son-in-law, and married soone else. That’s despicable!]

Such voices grew louder and louder, as if unless Logan took responsibility, he would be condemned as a criminal beyond redemption.

Jack knocked on the office door, then entered. "Sir, as you instructed, we didn’t control public opinion. Now the situation’s gotten bigger."

Logan gave a slight nod, not even lifting his eyelids. "No matter. Let it spread."

His tone allowed no argunt. Jack asked nothing more. "Yes, sir. Then about my brother..."

Selina blinked. "Your brother?"

Jack suddenly realized Madam was present. He bowed his head. "Yes."

And Selina understood.

Why Owen had been so easily baited.

Why he’d lost everything when investing with Ronald.

Why Owen so naively believed Logan was at a dead end.

It was because Logan had an "inside man" planted near Owen.

That man was Jaxon.

Jack and Jaxon, two brothers, were Logan’s right and left hands—one working in the open, the other hidden in the shadows.

Jaxon was the one in the shadows.

Owen believed he had secretly turned Jaxon to his side, so he always took Jaxon’s information at face value. But in reality...

Selina stated flatly, "You deliberately lured Owen into the trap."

Logan neither confird nor denied it. "I told you—he’s just too stupid. Has nothing to do with ."

Then he gave Jack a slight nod. "Tell Jaxon to continue. Everything proceeds as planned."

Jack bowed respectfully. "Understood."

Just then, news broke online: Alia was holding a press conference. On cara, she wept bitterly, begging Logan to admit his mistakes and co ho to marry Miss Paula.

As the press conference began, Selina asked, "Do you want to co with you?"

"Mrs. Reid can arrive later."

Logan calmly slipped on his gold-rimd glasses. "The show is starting."

...

anwhile, in an underground parking garage.

Owen moved in with a shifty air. When he saw Jaxon, his tone was sharp and impatient. "What’s so important you had to drag here? Do you know how valuable my ti is? I haven’t even settled accounts with you over Ronald..."

"It’s sothing major, of course." Jaxon asked, "No one saw you co here, right?"

"No. I avoided everyone. Nobody knows I’m eting you." Owen snapped. "Get on with it."

"No need to rush, Young Master Owen." Jaxon gave a faint smile. "You’ll get exactly what you’ve been wishing for, very soon."

Owen scoffed. "Fine, whatever—"

But before he could finish, pain shot through the back of his neck. His eyes flew wide. "You—!"

"Why is it, I wonder, that Young Master Owen trusted so completely? Why would you avoid everyone and every cara just to et alone?"

Jaxon’s tone carried mock puzzlent. "Still, it does make things much easier that you obeyed so well."

Owen glared furiously, but not a word left his lips before he collapsed heavily to the ground.

Jaxon raised a hand, and several figures erged from the shadows, shoving Owen into a car.

Only then did Jaxon dial a number. "The task is complete."

...

At the press conference, Alia and Daniel sobbed before a sea of reporters, Alia’s eyes swollen from crying.

Between sobs she said, "Duke William, please rest assured, our Reid Family will absolutely give you an explanation for this matter!"

Duke William sighed. "It’s not that I want to make Madam Reid’s life difficult, but if this isn’t clarified, what does that make my daughter? Soone Logan can pick up and throw away at will?"

Daniel frowned. "Even though Reid Family Group has already declared bankruptcy, Logan is still my son. No matter what, I’ll make sure he takes responsibility!"

When Logan finally arrived, every cara swiveled toward him.

Alia’s voice rose with excitent. "Logan, you ca!"

Suddenly, a figure darted out. Paula, her face flushed with both shyness and greed, rushed forward to cling to Logan’s arm.

But with a subtle sidestep, Logan let her lunge into empty air.

The room went silent for a few seconds.
