Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle' Chapter 514: Don’t Need You
Hannah bit her lip. Was Selina actually serious about making her kneel and apologize?!
She had only agreed because she thought Selina wouldn’t embarrass her like this in front of so many people.
If she really knelt, it wouldn’t just be her losing face—Selina would be branded as "the stepdaughter who forced her stepmother to kneel," and she herself would be condemned by everyone!
So how could Selina dare?
Selina simply looked at Hannah with a faint smile, neither signing the docunt nor speaking a word.
Half a minute ticked by, and the Morris Group representatives began to grow anxious.
"Ms. Hill, you just agreed to this a mont ago..."
"That’s right. Even if Grandma Morris and Chairman Morris made mistakes, if it weren’t for your greed, the Morris Family wouldn’t have ended up like this..."
"You’re just a second wife—how dare you take credit for the first wife’s work? Co on, listen to Selina!"
Hannah clenched her jaw tighter and tighter.
She knew that whether for the sake of her future plans or to salvage her already fragile reputation today, she had to kneel.
Even if she didn’t want to, the Morris Family would force her to.
But to kneel to Victoria’s daughter? She couldn’t stomach it!
Standing before her, Victoria’s daughter seed like soone from a world entirely different from hers.
Under the crowd’s contemptuous urging, Hannah reminded herself that this humiliation ant nothing compared to her long-term plans. She gritted her teeth and slowly lowered herself.
With a dull thud, her knees hit the ground.
Why was it that Victoria and Selina, after doing so many despicable things, still had people defending them, while she—just for taking over Victoria’s life—deserved to be treated like this?
Fine. She would rember this.
Selina, satisfied, withdrew her gaze and signed her na with crisp efficiency. "Let’s go to the conference room to talk."
As she passed Hannah, sothing seed to occur to her. She bent down slightly and, in a voice only the two of them could hear, said,
"Ms. Hill, you look awfully wronged."
Hannah’s eyes flashed with hatred.
"Kneeling to makes you feel this wronged? But Ms. Hill... the truth is, you didn’t kneel to today."
Hannah froze for half a second before her face drained of color—
She really hadn’t knelt to Selina... She had knelt to Victoria!
Now the whole world knew the design belonged to Victoria. And she, the plagiarist, had indeed knelt to Victoria!
Ahhh! Hannah’s emotions, which she had been holding back until now, suddenly collapsed.
Selina, however, didn’t spare her a glance. She went straight into the conference room with the Turner Group team.
...
Seeing that things had been settled, Logan ended the livestream.
Two people walked in from outside, chatting to themselves. "Logan, long ti no see!"
Jack narrowed his eyes at them. It had been years since he’d t people so rude and presumptuous. He was about to throw them out when the man among them plopped himself down on the sofa as if he owned the place.
"Logan, having coffee here? Riley just told she saw you, and I thought she must’ve been mistaken!"
Logan’s eyes remained calm as he took a sip of coffee.
Riley quickly stepped forward. "Logan, my cousin and I were passing by and happened to see you, so we thought we’d drop in and say hi."
"Were you watching a livestream just now?" the man asked. His na was Finn, Riley’s uncle’s son—her cousin—who had grown up in the Nelson Family estate. Because of Hunter, he naturally knew Logan as well.
Jack disliked this Finn. If it weren’t for Mr. Hunter, the Nelson Family wouldn’t receive any special treatnt at all. Yet Finn seed completely oblivious to this, always acting as if he ca before Hunter in everything.
Logan’s fingertips tapped lightly on the table.
Finn didn’t seem to notice the tense atmosphere. He glanced at the livestream, then suddenly widened his eyes, his face changing.
"Logan... did Selina just force soone to kneel in public?"
Logan’s gaze shifted. "And?"
Finn looked as if he had just witnessed so great injustice. His reaction was that of a sheltered young master untouched by worldly matters.
"Selina—no, I an, as your wife, she represents your reputation. If she forces soone to kneel in public and this blows up..."
"So what if it does?" Logan set down his coffee cup with casual indifference, though there was a cold edge in his tone. "Do you have a problem with my wife?"
Finn did, in fact, have a problem. For so reason, Selina always reminded him of Hunter, that walking disaster. The two shared certain unpleasant similarities.
On top of that, Riley had feelings for Logan but was beaten to it by Selina. Naturally, Finn had no fondness for her.
But he didn’t dare anger Logan, so he stamred, "That’s not what I ant..."
"Selina is in the right. The one she made kneel plagiarized her mother’s work and then had the nerve to play the victim."
Logan’s eyes turned icy as he looked at Finn. "So... do you understand now?"
For so reason, even though they were both seated and their gazes t on the sa level, Finn felt as though Logan were looking down at him. Not in a mocking, condescending way—no, it was worse.
It was as if Logan didn’t even see him at all. As if he wasn’t worth acknowledging.
A chill ran through Finn’s body.
"Cousin." Riley jumped in with a pleasant smile, smoothing over the tension. "Logan, my cousin speaks without thinking. That’s not what he ant. By the way, last ti when the Reid Family and Alia gave you such a hard ti, I happened to be out of town and couldn’t help. Is everything fine now?"
As she spoke, Riley sat down without hesitation, treating herself as part of Logan’s circle. Her tone carried a hint of complaint, but she was really sending a ssage—that she would always be on Logan’s side.
"Although the Reid Family publicly announced that Owen is their legitimate heir, that’s obviously impossible. They’ll say anything to back up their adopted son. I can’t believe they treated you that way!"
"Logan, I know you don’t care about the Reid Family’s fortune, but they won’t see it that way. They’ll definitely keep looking for ways to deal with you. What’s your plan?"
Riley bit her lip, then added as if in passing, "And on Selina’s side... things with the Morris Family aren’t great. They could’ve been an ally for you, but now..."
Finn, true to his "blunt" nature, chid in, "Well, the Nelson Family could’ve helped, but now even if they wanted to, they have no reason. Such a pity for Riley, she’s always—"
"Cousin," Riley interrupted.
Jack’s brow furrowed so tightly it could crush a fly.
...Wasn’t this too obvious? No way the boss hadn’t picked up on it!
The situation was plain as day: The wife had bad relations with the Morris Family, so they couldn’t help as in-laws. But if the boss married Riley, the Nelson Family would beco his backing. The intent was as obvious as the midday sun. Wasn’t this hint just a bit too blatant?
Logan replied lazily, "Help?"
Finn froze mid-sentence.
Logan’s aning was even clearer—I need your help with such a small matter? What do you think I am? A piece of trash?
