Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle' Chapter 44: Logan Was Drugged
Ethan imdiately wanted to call soone to bring Selina over.
Earlier today, Logan had co here to investigate sothing, but to his surprise, the Reid Family scumbags had tampered with things, and he accidentally fell victim to their drug.
The bar was swarming with mbers of the Reid Family, and Logan couldn’t afford to let them sense anything was wrong.
He had to eliminate them as quickly as possible before leaving.
Until then, as the drug’s effects kicked in, he had no choice but to endure.
But now, it was different—Selina was here. She could help Logan relieve the symptoms!
Sweat soaked the strands of hair at Logan’s temple, and his vision was hazy. Hearing her familiar na, his Adam’s apple bobbed as he said hoarsely, "No."
Ethan clicked his tongue. "Why not? She’s your wife. Isn’t it her duty to help you?"
Logan’s breathing grew heavier. "Sit down."
"Oh... fine. But then you’ll just have to endure it."
Ethan reluctantly agreed, but the next mont, his expression turned serious.
"Logan, you might not even have a choice."
Ethan cursed, "Guess who I just saw? Jas and Natalia are here, and they’re forcing Miss Clark to drink with them!"
Logan’s breath hitched, and he abruptly stood up.
Ethan hurriedly followed. "What are you doing?"
Forcing himself to suppress the drug’s effects, Logan rasped, "Of course—protecting my wife."
anwhile, Natalia held a wine glass, forcing a smile, though irritation boiled inside her.
Ever since they offended Noah, they’d lost their last remaining resources, and her father had to bring her out to curry favor with these businessn.
Looking at the ugly, old benefactor before her, Natalia felt like vomiting.
Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she spotted soone familiar.
Natalia quickly lowered her head. "Dad, I think I just saw my sister."
Following her gaze, Jas’s eyes imdiately lit up.
Natalia complained, "Dad, Ryan just asked where I am, and I didn’t even dare tell him I’m at a bar."
Jas made a snap decision. "Let Selina take your place. You go find Ryan."
Then, with a sycophantic grin, he turned to the businessn. "Mr. Wilson, my eldest daughter is here too. I’ll have her co over to serve you."
Mr. Wilson, already eyeing the beauty sitting in the corner, nearly drooled. "Perfect, Mr. Clark, we’ll wait for her."
Selina had been sitting in her seat for a while, waiting for the bar owner, when an unpleasant voice interrupted her.
Natalia approached delicately, her deanor frail and pitiful. "Sister."
Selina narrowed her eyes, her gaze cold and indifferent as though she hadn’t heard.
Jas, furious at her attitude, felt his blood boil. This daughter of his was just like her mother—always acting high and mighty!
Putting on a paternal front, he habitually began to scold her. "What are you doing at a bar? Can’t you learn sothing proper for once?"
Selina sneered. "What are you and Natalia doing here? Father and daughter out soliciting together?"
"Watch your mouth! Who gave you permission to speak like that?" Jas barked before cutting straight to the point. Impatiently, he ordered, "Co here and drink with Mr. Wilson and his friends."
Selina responded nonchalantly, "Isn’t Natalia right here?"
Jas exploded with anger. "Natalia is a pure, innocent young lady. How could she be the sa as you?! Get over here!"
Natalia bit her lip and chid in softly, "Sister, you can’t be so selfish. Think of the family."
Ignoring them, Selina turned and walked away.
Before she could get far, however, the businessn approached. Mr. Wilson blocked her path, his lustful gaze sweeping over her as he gulped. "Mr. Clark, is this your eldest daughter? Why didn’t you tell us your family had such a stunning beauty?"
Selina felt nauseous under his lecherous stare, goosebumps rising on her skin.
Jas ingratiated himself further. "Yes, yes! She’s excellent at serving people, not like Natalia—still inexperienced. Selina’s much more skilled. She’ll take good care of you."
The businessn burst into laughter, their tone suggestive. "But there are so many of us—can your eldest daughter handle it? Why not leave your younger daughter here too?"
Jas imdiately shielded Natalia behind him, blurting out without hesitation, "Natalia won’t do. She doesn’t know anything. But Selina? She can definitely handle it. She’s been with so many n already. Isn’t that right, Selina?"
Selina clenched her fists. Although she had long known the Clark Family didn’t like her, hearing her own father suggest throwing her into a den of wolves chilled her heart completely.
Was she even Jas’s biological daughter?
Mr. Wilson rubbed his hands together lewdly. "Well then, Miss Clark, co have a drink with us."
Selina’s icy gaze swept over the crowd. Suddenly, she smiled and asked slowly, "You want to drink?"
The group burst into bawdy laughter. "Mr. Clark, your eldest daughter is quite sothing. She really knows how to play along."
"Truly a master at serving others. Don’t worry, Mr. Clark, if she satisfies us tonight, that project will definitely go to the Clark Group."
Jas bead with joy. Selling out Selina would bring such enormous benefits—he was both pleased and excited.
Mr. Wilson gulped eagerly. "Miss Clark, please don’t keep us waiting too long."
Selina reached out and took the glass of wine. It was obvious the drink had been spiked. She suddenly looked up, her eyes glinting playfully. "This glass is too small. Why not bring a bigger one?"
Mr. Wilson, now even more impatient, shouted, "Didn’t you hear Miss Clark? Bring a bigger glass!"
"Miss Clark, if you make us happy tonight, we’ll ensure your family gets all the resources it needs."
"Exactly. Mr. Clark, you’ve raised an amazing daughter."
Soon, a glass three tis the original size was brought to Selina. She smiled suddenly, lifting it in her hand.
"We should film this mont to truly appreciate it later. It’d be a sha to miss—"
The voice abruptly stopped.
Splash!
The entire glass of wine was poured over Mr. Wilson’s head. His greasy hair clung to his face, and he stood drenched, dripping from head to toe.
Everyone froze, stunned into silence, watching the scene unfold in the corner.
Mr. Wilson snapped out of it, his fury erupting. "What the hell are you doing?! Mr. Clark, is your daughter rebelling?"
Jas, panicked, fearing the loss of their promised resources, yelled, "Selina, you—ah!"
Selina hurled the glass, hitting Jas squarely in the head. As he clutched his head in pain, she smirked coldly. "Didn’t you want to drink with them? There, I did."
Mr. Wilson’s rage hit its peak. He had toyed with many won, both willing and unwilling, but this was the first ti a woman had dared to humiliate him like this.
Glaring at Selina’s retreating figure, he lunged forward, grabbing her wrist. "You little bitch! Your father already handed you over to , and you’re pretending to be so chaste virgin? I’ll kill you today!"
Selina’s eyes turned icy as she reversed his grip, ready to throw him to the ground.
But before she could act, there was a sudden bang! Soone else had beaten her to it, sending Mr. Wilson flying with a powerful kick.
In the next instant, she was pulled into a scorching yet familiar embrace.
Logan’s body was burning hot, but his eyes were as cold as ice. He scanned the crowd and, with a chilling tone, demanded, "Which hand touched her? Cut it off."
Everyone held their breath.
In his arms, Selina felt his unnaturally high body temperature and froze for a mont.
It seed like... he’d been drugged, and the effects were kicking in.
