Angelica fell awkwardly to the ground, eyes reddening. "Logan, you actually hit for Selina? I love you so much! Why are you even worried about her? Everything I did was for us! I love you—you should love !"

Selina turned and t Logan’s reddened eyes. She froze.

Logan had always been composed and cold. Even when suffering from unbearable poison attacks, his gaze remained controlled and distant.

In this man’s dictionary, the word "cry" simply didn’t exist.

But now, his eyes were red, silently watching Selina with an expression she couldn’t decipher.

Selina looked away and questioned Angelica.

"You’re ridiculous. Just because you like Logan, he must love you back? Plenty of people like him. Should he love every single one?"

Angelica’s face twisted with rage. "Logan, how could you compare to those sluts? I’m the Morris Family’s eldest daughter—I was born superior! Do you think I didn’t know the risks of pretending to be your savior? Yet I did it anyway, for you! And now you team up with this slut to expose ..."

Logan felt disgusted just looking at her.

Everyone else held their breath, afraid to make a sound.

Angelica’s face turned pale. "Even if I killed soone... it’s because I love you too much! Selina wants to destroy now—shouldn’t you take responsibility for ? Logan, Logan!"

Selina sneered, "Typical ’Miss Morris,’ you and Chairman Morris share the sa twisted logic. By your reasoning, Angelica, am I entitled to kill you too?"

"Ah!" Angelica trembled in terror. "Logan, did you hear that? Selina wants to kill ! She’s evil—I always knew she was rotten from birth. She wants to kill !"

Angelica genuinely believed she had done nothing wrong. She’d taken everything from Selina—leaving Selina nothing. Shouldn’t Selina just accept her fate and die?

Yet, Selina dared to resist! Wasn’t prey supposed to lie still and wait for death? Who allowed her to fight back? Anyone who resisted deserved to die!

Angelica’s biggest mistake was not killing Selina four years ago!

Had she done that, she’d already be Mrs. Reid, and this secret would never have surfaced.

She should have killed Selina! Ah, she deeply regretted it!

"You’re hopeless," Logan said, eyes devoid of warmth. "Jack, bring the police in."

Now began the ruin of Angelica’s life.

"No, no... Daddy, save !"

At that mont, Angelica broke free and knelt at Joe’s feet.

"Daddy, please save ! I don’t want to go to jail! Selina has pushed to the brink—please!"

Selina laughed coldly.

Everyone else grew silent.

Those who’d speculated earlier that the Morris family would shield Angelica now shook their heads.

The incident was dramatic, but aside from public humiliation, Angelica probably wouldn’t face real punishnt. The Morris Family’s power ran too deep. Logan might cause trouble, but Grandpa Reid wouldn’t let him risk severe fallout with the Morris Family over a woman.

Joe opened his mouth several tis but couldn’t speak.

He knew Angelica was horribly wrong, and even he couldn’t smooth things over with Selina now.

But... Angelica had a point: she was born into the Morris Family. So people were simply destined to be stepping stones for her.

Selina’s sin was daring to resist. Joe couldn’t understand why she wouldn’t accept her fate. Why fight against an unfair destiny? Wasn’t sacrificing for Angelica exactly what Selina was supposed to do?

Selina scoffed. Joe’s logic boiled down to this: everyone above him was equal, and everyone beneath him belonged in a hierarchy.

If soone’s status was above the Morris Family, Joe would say, "Co on, it’s a modern era—who talks about status anymore? Even if your family is more powerful than ours, we’re all equal."

But if soone’s status was beneath the Morris Family, Joe would think, "Selina is just an ant. If she dies, so be it. If she becos a stepping stone, so be it. Inferior people like her should naturally hand all their good fortune to the Morris Family. Who told them to be born lowly?"

Selina genuinely couldn’t fathom how she ended up being... the daughter of soone like this.

Joe knew today’s issue wouldn’t be easy to smooth over. He took a deep breath.

"Logan, Angelica pretended to be your savior—she was wrong. But she’s still the eldest daughter of the Morris Family. How about leaving so room for leniency?"

Logan replied calmly, "I don’t think so."

Joe’s face darkened at being rebuffed again. "You can deal with others however you want, but Angelica is my daughter with Victoria—"

"Chairman Morris, haven’t you learned your lesson yet?" Logan leisurely smiled. "I recall reminding you many tis to carefully verify Angelica’s identity before jumping to conclusions."

"But Chairman Morris seems utterly incapable of learning. Honestly, your stupidity is almost comforting—it ans the Morris Family’s bankruptcy isn’t far off."

Selina was desperately holding back laughter.

Joe caught Logan’s mockery clearly and flushed with anger.

"Angelica is my daughter. I’m not so senile that I can’t recognize my own child!"

"Logan, stop dodging the issue! I’m asking you directly!"

Logan’s smile grew sharper. "Chairman Morris, who gave you the audacity to plead for the criminal while acting so superior? Did you really think I’m afraid of the Morris Family?"

The onlookers finally grasped why things felt strange. It was indeed odd—Joe’s daughter had attempted murder, and Joe was begging forgiveness from the victim. Yet sohow, he still acted entitled, as if the victim not only owed forgiveness but should kneel gratefully to him. Where did such absurd confidence co from?

Joe clenched his teeth. "You—!"

Selina glanced at Logan. She knew exactly what Logan was doing.

She had said she didn’t want to return to the disgusting Morris Family, but she also refused to let her mother remain known as Angelica’s "mother."

Thus, revealing her true identity was essential.

But why now, and why was Logan deliberately provoking Joe?

Because only by clearly showing how outrageous the Morris Family was could Selina justifiably cut ties.

Their eyes t briefly, and Logan smiled subtly before turning back to Joe.

"So, Chairman Morris, how do you think this matter should be resolved?"

Joe hesitated.

How to resolve it? Naturally, he preferred Selina to find an excuse, claiming everything today was just a joke, which would protect Angelica from any repercussions, but...
