"Kyle, let be crystal clear—for the last ti: if at your sister’s wedding you’re still acting like this, don’t bla for washing my hands of you as my son."

Kyle’s words trailed off—Joe had zero patience left to hear him out. The bridal designer was already there, and he was too busy helping his beloved daughter pick out her gown to deal with Kyle’s drama.

Joe and Angelica left together, Angelica pretended to excuse Kyle: "Dad, Kyle’s a good person—he’s just hurting too much over Selina. Please don’t be mad at him; after all, soone did lose their life..."

"Angelica, you’re too kind," Joe replied, half-smiling. "You worry too much. Go pick out your dress—you have to be the most beautiful bride in the world."

Kyle watched their retreating figures, sinking into a swirl of doubt. Kind? Seriously? Whether or not Angelica is a Morris heiress, she’s responsible for soone’s death—how the heck did that turn into "kind" in Dad’s eyes?

...

The engagent day finally arrived—and yes, it was exactly the seventh day after Selina’s death. The grounds of the Sapphire Valley Villa were filled with things to celebrate—not a hint of mourning. This was clearly a festive occasion.

Since Selina was presud dead, she stayed back on the third floor. Amid the buzz of bridal preparations below, she sat biting into an apple and kept her eyes peeled for Angelica.

Soon, the Morris Family’s cars rolled in theatrically. Selina smiled to herself, tossed the apple core aside, and dialed Luke: "Are you ready?"

In a small, determined whisper, he replied: "Everything’s set—I’ve got this."

...

Angelica descended the car steps as the star of the event. Her dress was elegant yet subtly luxurious, and dozens of guests gathered to greet her like royalty.

"Congratulations, Ms. Angelica! When do you and Mr. Reid plan to register?"

Angelica smiled shyly. "I’m waiting for Logan. With Selina having just passed, there’s no rush."

"I heard Grandpa Reid invited reporters—tonight’s engagent is being livestread. Congratulations on finally getting what you wanted!"

Angelica responded with modest poise, "Actually, this was also Selina’s wish..."

She radiated the aura of a gracious hostess, projecting the ssage: "Logan loves , and I’m now the lady of the Reid Group."

Glancing around, the crowd exchanged discreet looks. Though today was the seventh day since Selina died, no one uttered her na. It was as if that "forr Mrs. Reid" had died and never existed—her presence erased entirely.

"Please take a seat, everyone," Angelica announced. "I have to go upstairs and change."

With the grace of a lady of the house, she swept into Sapphire Valley Villa’s grand foyer. Spotting Miller Butler, her tone shifted to imperious command: "Are my rooms ready?"

Miller clenched his jaw. "Miss Angelica, yes, it’s ready."

"Watch your mouth!" Angelica snapped. "Don’t call Miss Angelica! Call Mrs. Reid! I’m the mistress of Sapphire Valley Villa now—you’d better show so damn respect!"

"Yes, ma’am." Miller forced himself to stay calm—he couldn’t ss up the madam’s plans. It took everything in him to choke out the words: "Mrs. Reid."

Angelica nodded approvingly. "Good—lead the way."

Without hesitation, she strode toward the master suite. Joe, photographers, hair and makeup artists, and a small entourage followed in a flurry behind her, carting away anything she didn’t like.

Miller Butler could barely make out a few words:

"Anything Selina used is bad luck now."

"Angelica’s the Morris Family heiress—she can’t use soone else’s things. Burn it all."

"And destroy everything in Selina’s wardrobe. Now Angelica is the lady of Sapphire Valley Villa!"

Butler silently scoffed—go ahead and act arrogant, see how long that lasts.

...

In a dim corner, Luke clenched his lips, clearly unhappy. He knew Selina wasn’t dead and that today was Angelica’s end—but why should everyone else believe she’d died? On the seventh day after her "death," no funeral was allowed, her real cause of death was erased, and a huge engagent party was staged for Angelica—the real killer!

Why? It wasn’t fair.

He vowed to put on the performance of his life.

...

Soon the engagent party began. It was stread live across the country. High-profile figures from City A were all in attendance. Grandpa Reid and Old Mrs. Reid sat on the dais. Logan stood on the circular floral platform. Joe, arm-in-arm with Angelica in her wedding gown, slowly approached.

Chatrooms erupted with congratulatory ssages. Angelica’s fans were practically shouting, "She’s marrying into a wealthy family!"

The event dominated the trending list. Entertainers shared their congratulations for the publicity—except for the film emperor Damien, who stayed silent.

"Wow, what a production... after today, no one can say they don’t know about this wedding."

"It makes sense—Reid Group’s heir and Morris Family’s jewel uniting their families is a big deal. And Angelica even saved Mr. Reid’s life. Sounds like a fairy tale."

"Selina was Mrs. Reid for so long and never got a wedding. Angelica’s not even married yet and already has a grand engagent. That’s fate."

"Shh, can’t bring up Selina now—she’s dead! ntioning her at Angelica’s wedding would be bad luck!"

...

Amid admiration from the crowd, Angelica lifted her chin high and strode toward Logan.

She finally had everything she’d wanted—heiress status, the title of Mrs. Reid, Logan’s devotion.

She’d stripped Selina of every shred of honor after years of scheming.

Grandpa Reid took the mic. "Today we celebrate my grandson Logan’s engagent to the Morris Family’s own Angelica. Welco, everyone! Logan, go et your bride."

Logan looked at Angelica with a cool gaze.

Angelica’s heart pounded—one beat, two, faster and faster. She was so close. Any mont now, she’d officially beco Mrs. Reid.

As she reached Logan, Joe bead. "Logan, congratulations—after everything, you two are finally together."

He gently placed Angelica’s hand in Logan’s. Traditionally, the groom would now take the bride’s hand from her father.

But Logan didn’t move. He acted as if he hadn’t heard Joe at all.

The scene suddenly ca to a stalemate.

Joe couldn’t hold back his expression, "Logan!"

What’s going on? What is Logan doing? The wedding process was all arranged in advance, why is he daydreaming?
