Angelica’s face went pale in an instant.

She had no idea Wilson had done sothing like that! It’s just that Selina had always acted so arrogant—assuming Selina was the problem seed perfectly reasonable!

But with so many people watching, Angelica had no choice but to swallow her pride and apologize. "Selina, I was misled by Manager Wilson. If I had known he was involved in the explosion, I never would’ve spoken on his behalf."

Selina gave a cool, amused smile. "That’s strange. You were at the hospital when Jaxon had surgery. Even your nurse knew Wilson was behind the explosion—but you didn’t? That’s... surprising."

"You—" Angelica’s face froze. "It’s because I’m pregnant... I only cared about my baby. I wasn’t in the mood to listen to gossip."

"If you’re so focused on the baby," Selina asked slowly, "then what are you doing here, looking for ?"

Good question. Angelica claid she cared only for the baby, so why co looking for Selina, the wife? To provoke her? Wasn’t she afraid sothing might happen to her child?

Her excuse made no sense—it was clearly made up.

"I... I..." Angelica broke into a cold sweat, and then tears welled in her eyes. "Selina, I ca to apologize. Please don’t always assu the worst of . It’s fine. If you don’t want to see , I’ll go..."

She clutched her belly and began walking out, every step slow and strained like a delicate flower struggling against the wind—pure, helpless resilience.

Selina let out a snort.

Just then—

"Miss Morris," Logan’s voice broke the silence.

Everyone looked up in shock. Wait—was Mr. Reid trying to stop Angelica?

Angelica’s heart leapt. She knew it. Logan wouldn’t be that cold. She was his so-called "savior," carrying his child. After everything Selina just said, he must be feeling sorry for her!

Angelica turned back, her tone soft and fragile. "Logan, don’t worry about it. Don’t argue because of . Selina doesn’t like—"

"Weren’t you here to apologize?" Logan interrupted blandly, his voice carrying through the room. "Where’s the apology?"

Silence.

Angelica’s expression froze, the color draining from her face. She choked on her own words. "I... I..."

Apologize? What was he saying?! She wasn’t actually here to apologize!

"Is Angelica unwilling?" Selina smiled suddenly, then lowered her head, voice laced with disappointnt.

"Forget it. Let’s not force her."

"Even though Angelica clung to Logan at the hospital, tried to stop Jaxon’s surgery; even though she pushed to the ground and tead up with Wilson to target , I’m sure she didn’t an any harm. She’s the kindest person I know. Logan, I don’t want her apology anymore—otherwise her fans will just accuse of bullying her."

Angelica’s face contorted in fury. Selina, that fake! Who did she think she was fooling with that innocent act? It was clearly sarcasm!

But sohow, after Selina’s words, the people around them all seed to suddenly "get it."

"She’s right. Angelica has the Morris and Reid families behind her, plus all those fans. Even if it’s her fault, people will just say Mrs. Reid is being unreasonable."

"Isn’t that what they always say? ’Angelica already apologized—what more do you want?’ Her fans are like a broken record."

"She hasn’t even apologized yet and already she’s acting like the victim. Imagine what’ll happen if she actually does apologize—would the Morris family go after Mrs. Reid next?"

"If she didn’t want to apologize, why bother with this whole show?"

"You blind? There are reporters outside. She’s clearly trying to build her image."

Angelica’s face grew darker, her whole body trembling as tears stread down her face like a tragic heroine in a soap opera.

"Selina! It’s not like that, I really wanted to apologize—I’m sorry, truly sorry! Please don’t think that way, it hurts so much..."

Selina turned to Logan, her voice calm and deliberate.

"Logan, why are you just standing there? Call Chairman Morris and have him pick her up. A pregnant woman with ’health issues’ shouldn’t be running around like this. What if Angelica faints? Whose fault would that be?"

She added quietly, "I’d like everyone here to rember—I never laid a hand on Angelica."

"Don’t worry, Mrs. Reid, we’re all witnesses!"

"Even if Chairman Morris shows up, he can’t force you to take the bla!"

"I studied dicine. Angelica’s complexion is great—she looks perfectly healthy. If she faints, she’s faking it for sure."

Angelica clenched her teeth. If she fainted, it would look fake; if she didn’t, it made her look pathetic. This trick used to work every ti with Selina—what changed?

Selina raised a brow.

"Good. Now I feel better. Logan, let’s go."

Logan didn’t spare Angelica a single glance. He simply took Selina’s hand and walked away, the elevator doors closing behind them.

When Joe arrived, he found Angelica sitting in the lobby, pale and pitiful.

"Angelica..."

"Daddy!" Angelica burst into tears the mont she saw him.

Joe felt a pang in his chest.

"Angelica, what happened? Did you call all those reporters?"

Angelica shook her head as she cried.

"My fans were attacking Selina online, saying she had no sha. So I ca to apologize, hoping reporters could capture a mont of reconciliation. That way, they’d stop bullying her."

"But Selina misunderstood and had ... kicked out..."

She collapsed into Joe’s arms.

"Daddy, why does Selina hate so much? Back then, I was only Clark Family’s adopted daughter—maybe I deserved to be looked down on. But now, I’m the Morris heiress. And she still calls a howrecker, soone disgraceful."

"I just... I just love Logan too much. Daddy, you understand , don’t you? Why does Selina get to treat this way? Just because she’s his legal wife, does that an I’m naturally beneath her?"

"I can handle the insults, but what about my baby? I don’t want him to be hated just for being born out of love. He didn’t do anything wrong!"

If Luke had been present, he’d probably have rolled his eyes into the next dinsion.

A mistress playing the victim—how shaless could one get? She was clearly her mother’s daughter.

Joe was overwheld, his thoughts tangled. From his perspective, he didn’t respect mistresses either. But... Angelica loved Logan. Truly.

Just like he had truly loved Victoria.

So he could understand her.

"Don’t worry, Angelica," Joe promised.

"I’ll make sure the Reid Family acknowledges your child. He won’t be a bastard. He’ll be the rightful heir to the Reid legacy."

Angelica lowered her eyes and smiled faintly to herself.

Back at the office, Selina followed Logan inside, puzzled.

"Weren’t you in a eting? Why are you here?"

Logan paused mid-step, then turned to her with a aningful glance.

"I heard soone was giving Mrs. Reid a hard ti. Of course I ca."
