Five minutes ago.

When Selina heard Logan’s response, she turned around and stord off.

He couldn’t even see, and he still refused to tell her?

Weren’t they married? How could he hide sothing like this?

Was he trying to keep her from worrying?

Because if Logan didn’t say anything, she’d only worry more.

Fine.

He told her to leave—so she would.

It’s not like he needed her concern anyway.

But as she reached the door, she realized...

She hadn’t heard a single footstep behind her.

Which ant Logan was still standing in the sa place.

Right—he was blind right now.

Sudden vision loss, unable to find direction—there’s no way he’d risk moving around.

Miller Butler was out back. Jack was nowhere to be found.

The entire villa... only had Logan.

So he was just standing there. Alone. Unable to move.

But Logan had just lied to her—why should she care?

Yeah, no. Let him figure it out himself.

But what if he fell? What then...

Selina had been heading for the garage, but now she couldn’t even rember why.

Her whole mind was filled with thoughts of Logan.

Then—

She heard sothing. A faint crash, like glass shattering.

Selina whipped around.

What happened to Logan?!

Her last shred of resolve snapped.

Without a second thought, she ran back into the living room.

By the ti she ca to her senses, She was already standing right in front of him.

She let out a breath of relief.

"What was that sound just now? Are you—hey, what are you—"

Before she could finish, Logan had already pulled her tightly into his arms, locking her there.

"You ca back."

Selina blinked, stunned.

The next thing she knew, she was being pulled down onto the soft couch.

She tried to get up, but he held her wrists in place.

Frustrated, she mumbled, "I ca back because I was worried about you. And this is how you treat ?"

Logan exhaled softly, clearly conflicted.

"Sorry. I couldn’t help it."

Selina decided not to argue with a blind man.

She looked into his dull, lifeless eyes.

"Tell what’s really going on."

"I’m blind. But don’t worry—it’ll pass in a few days."

After saying that, Logan could feel her mood shifting—he could almost sense the pressure in the air.

He sighed helplessly and gently tapped her forehead with his fingers.

"Mrs. Reid, it’s not that I wanted to keep this from you. And it’s not because I thought you couldn’t handle it emotionally. It’s just that... for , this sort of thing is normal. Nothing to make a fuss about."

Normal?

Nothing to make a fuss about?

Selina frowned.

That ant this had happened many tis before.

Logan couldn’t see her expression.

"Why did you co back?"

Was that really a question?

Selina answered honestly.

"Because I was worried about you."

Logan paused—then suddenly cut in:

"Mrs. Reid... you like , don’t you?"

Selina blinked, her cheeks instantly flushing red.

Wait—what kind of pivot was that?!

Before she could respond, Logan asked again:

"What exactly do you like about ?"

He sounded genuinely confused.

Years of restraint had made him bury all traces of his true self.

He had no real personality.

Back then, he had beco whatever the Carter family needed their "adopted son" to be.

Later, he shaped himself into whatever the Reid family needed in an heir.

Even with people constantly chasing after Mr. Reid...

Logan knew what they wanted was the na, the title, the image.

So what was it... that Selina liked?

She thought for a mont.

"You’re gentlemanly, kind... and you treat well."

Logan’s throat tightened.

His eyes darkened again.

Is that so?

But the real him wasn’t gentle.

He wasn’t a gentleman.

He watched people die without blinking, listened to screams like background noise, and felt nothing.

Everything Selina saw...

Everything she liked—was a mask.

So in the end, Mrs. Reid liked the version of him he pretended to be... not the real him.

"But Mr. Reid, liking soone... that’s not sothing you can always explain."

Selina’s tone was calm, almost teasing.

"I like you because you’re gentle and well-mannered. But if one day you stop pretending—then I’ll like that version of you too."

Logan’s fingers froze.

His breathing suddenly grew heavier.

Without warning, he leaned down—

Even though he couldn’t see, he found her lips with pinpoint accuracy and kissed her.

Selina’s eyes flew wide open.

"?!"

Is this man part bloodhound?!

Logan didn’t hold back.

His teeth parted her lips. Before she could react, his warm breath whispered—

"Open your mouth."

Selina instinctively grabbed his sleeve.

The mont she heard his voice, she opened her mouth without thinking—

And was imdiately overwheld by his deeper, fiercer kiss.

"Logan, mmm—"

She tried to speak, but the rest of her protest was swallowed whole.

She felt like seaweed tossed around by waves—completely at his rcy.

His rough breath tickled her ear.

"Good. Then I won’t pretend anymore."

His voice, low and husky, laced with unmistakable desire, sent a shiver through her chest.

"I’m not... that’s not what I ant—"

But Logan only let out a soft chuckle.

When the kiss finally ended, it wasn’t the blind man being helped upstairs—It was Selina.

Over the next two days, Selina finally understood what Logan ant by

"I won’t pretend anymore."

The man who used to ask for permission before a kiss...

Now seed to have unlocked so entirely new side of himself.

The gentle smile at the corners of his mouth carried a casual mischief.

He kissed her until her eyes turned glassy—

Then looked down at her like he’d just done sothing very satisfying.

Selina: "..."

She should’ve known from the start—Logan was never so harmless gentleman!

For the past few days, Selina had been pouring over the notes Uncle Gordon gave her.

After two full days of study, she finally made progress.

After lunch, she walked into the bedroom.

"Logan, take off your shirt."

His fingers paused mid-movent, one brow arching in curiosity.

Outside the door, Jack nearly tripped—

He glanced at the ti in horror.

1 PM?!

It’s still the middle of the day, and you’re already at the ’take it off’ stage?!

Inside, Logan wore a sleek black silk robe, lounging comfortably.

He smirked, unfastening the first button.

"What does Mrs. Reid want to do to ?"

"Acupuncture," Selina said matter-of-factly.

But as soon as she said it, her eyes landed—unintentionally—on his lips.

And all those mories ca rushing back.

Even blind, he could still...

No no no. Don’t go there.

She’d studied dicine under Uncle Gordon. She was a doctor.

Doctors don’t think like that about their patients!

"Mrs. Reid, where exactly are you looking?"

Logan noticed the shift in her gaze.

He narrowed his eyes slightly and leaned in, voice slow and playful.

"It’s still daylight. Don’t get ahead of yourself."

Selina’s eyes flicked to his partially exposed, sculpted chest—

And she imdiately got what he ant.

"..."

Wait a second...

Did Logan just assu she was thirsting for his body?!
