The entire comnt section was going crazy.

[Wait, what?! Is it true that only family mbers were allowed on this ski trip?!]

[Yeah, the ski resort belongs to Luke, and he made the rules. All the other guests brought their spouses, kids, or parents. But Mr. Reid brought Angelica—doesn’t that basically confirm she’s his wife?]

[That’s solid proof! But then how did Selina get there?]

[She must’ve tagged along with Angelica. If Angelica is Mrs. Reid, then Selina’s just the sister-in-law. If your sister-in-law wants to co, you can’t say no, right?]

[Selina has no sha...]

[Not only did Selina crash the trip, she almost got Angelica killed. Mr. Reid is definitely going to get revenge for her. Selina’s done for!]

...

After scrolling through several trending topics, Selina saw more of the sa. Her lips pressed into a thin line.

Why did Angelica and Amanda dare to push these headlines?

Logan had specifically said the matter wasn’t to be made public and that he’d personally find the person behind it. So how could Angelica go over his head and make it explode online?

Damien’s voice ca through after a long silence. "Selina, do you want to handle this for you?"

Selina snapped out of it. Wait—what was she thinking? Logan had said he believed her. If she doubted him now, wasn’t she falling right into Angelica’s trap?

"No need. I’ll handle it. But... there are a few things I’d like you to help look into."

Damien raised an eyebrow. "You don’t usually ask for favors. Shoot."

"Help find out who’s backing Angelica in the entertainnt industry. How does she have so much power? Also, I want every detail of her schedule from four years ago re-checked."

She paused. "And one more thing—the ski instructor..."

"That won’t be hard," Damien replied. "I can trace everything, but restoring the video will take ti. Your birthday’s coming up—by then, you’ll have the full truth."

Selina blinked. Her birthday was coming? She’d nearly forgotten...

After hanging up, she waited a bit for Logan to return. When he didn’t, she reached for her phone to call him—only to hear a ringtone coming from her luggage.

Selina froze. Logan’s phone had been in her bag the entire ti.

Which ant... she had no way of reaching him.

As she was about to put the phone back, it buzzed twice with incoming texts.

[Logan, thank you. I’m feeling better now. Thank you for helping smooth things over with the production team and sponsors.]

Selina’s eyes widened. That number—Angelica?!

Before she could process, a second ssage ca in:

[Let’s not pursue what happened with , okay? Selina’s young. If she really ended up in jail, I know you’d worry. She is your wife, after all.]

[By the way, I asked Uncle Clark about the divorce. If you want to go through with it, the Clark Family supports you anyti.]

Selina stared at the word divorce, her eyes darkening.

She wasn’t stupid.

These three ssages, read together, clearly implied:

Logan agreed to let Angelica’s PR team control the narrative.

He helped her keep her endorsents and acting gigs.

And—he asked about divorcing Selina.

Divorce?

Logic told her not to believe anything until she spoke to Logan directly. Why would he want a divorce out of the blue?

But those three texts, combined with the comnts online pairing Angelica and Logan like a destined couple, filled her chest with a dull ache—like sothing inside had cracked open and let the cold seep in.

Selina suddenly felt lost. She had been waiting for Logan at the hotel—

but where was he?

Angelica had already regained consciousness, yet he still hadn’t returned. Why? Didn’t he know she was waiting?

Everything she had been holding on to for support suddenly felt like it had crumbled. Selina couldn’t stay there any longer.

She grabbed her suitcase, turned around, and went straight to the airport.

She booked the earliest flight and flew back to City A in the middle of the night.

She needed to go sowhere familiar, sowhere that made her feel safe—sowhere she could be alone and think.

After landing, she unknowingly ended up back at Sapphire Valley Villa.

It was past 3 a.m. The villa was pitch dark.

Dazed, Selina stood at the entrance for a long ti before finally stepping inside.

She walked up to the second floor, about to head to her room, when she noticed the light in the study was on.

Miller Butler’s voice ca from inside:

"Madam Perry, each generation has their own fortune. You really don’t need to worry so much."

Madam Perry? Selina blinked in surprise. Grandma Perry was here?

Sure enough, the old woman’s sigh followed: "How can I not worry? You’ve watched Logan grow up—you know his nature. Whether he loves or hates, he keeps it buried deep inside. When I forced him to marry Selina, he agreed... but he never made their marriage public."

"Now that Angelica’s back, I honestly don’t know if he truly loves Selina.

Out of duty, maybe he takes care of her and treats her well... but this can’t go on forever."

"I’m afraid he’s just trying not to upset —or maybe he pities Selina for being young and afraid she’d be left all alone if they divorced. That’s the only reason he hasn’t brought it up."

"But who would’ve thought that soone as emotionally reserved as him... actually wrote so many love letters to a woman he only t once four years ago?Did I make a mistake by forcing him to marry?"

Selina stumbled back a step, her entire body suddenly freezing, as if dropped into an icy lake.

Logan wrote love letters to the woman from four years ago—

Angelica.

Back when he hadn’t even found her, he was already pouring out his heart in letters.

Now that Angelica had returned, he had no reason to hide anything anymore.

He didn’t divorce her, not because he loved her, but because he didn’t want to upset his grandmother.

If he loved Angelica so deeply...

Then all the kindness he’d shown Selina—was it just an act?

Selina’s heart ached sharply, but what followed was a void—an overwhelming emptiness.

She felt hollow inside.

She would rather be completely alone...than stay in a marriage that was nothing but charity.

If Logan’s heart still belonged to soone else, then everything he gave her was fake.

Quietly, she turned and crept upstairs.

Then just as quietly, she ca back down.

She gathered all her belongings, walked out the door, and left.

She didn’t disturb a single soul.

...

The next morning, back at the hotel—

Luke went to look for Selina to have breakfast, only to find a single note:I went back to City A.

He imdiately called Miller Butler, who replied with confusion,

"No one ca ho last night."

Luke’s heart sank. He suddenly realized sothing was very wrong.

He stord into the hospital, looked everywhere, and didn’t see Logan.

"Jack, where is he?!"

Jack replied respectfully, "Sir had sothing urgent to take care of. Is sothing the matter?"

Luke: "..."

What’s the matter? You’re seriously asking that?!

YOUR WIFE RAN AWAY!

Luke peeked into the patient room.

Angelica was lying there in bed, looking like a fragile little white flower.

He gave her a deadly glare.

Angelica bit her lip. "Young Master Luke... do you have sothing against ? I just—"

"Angelica," Luke suddenly interrupted, his voice sharp. "Do you even know who I am?"
