"Did I plagiarize or not? Mrs. Bryant should know best, shouldn’t she?"

A heavy silence fell over the phone.

Katie’s expression stiffened. "Selina, you child... why won’t you just admit it? Tomorrow’s banquet—"

"I’ll be there, don’t worry," Selina interrupted. She paused for a mont before continuing, "Tomorrow, the plagiarist will definitely apologize."

With that, she hung up the phone.

At the Clark Family estate, Katie’s hands trembled so much that she nearly dropped her phone. Selina’s words echoed in her mind—Tomorrow, the plagiarist will definitely apologize.

Why did she suddenly have a bad feeling? But no, that was impossible. The evidence was solid. How could Selina possibly turn things around?

No, no, I must be overthinking this.

"Selina’s words... what did she an? What does she an that you know whether she plagiarized or not?" Jas frowned, suspicion creeping into his tone.

Katie’s heart nearly leaped into her throat. "Jas, Selina is just making excuses! How would I know why she plagiarized? Do you not trust ? Or worse, are you doubting Angelica?"

Jas’ frown deepened. The plagiarism scandal had caused imnse damage to Clark Group. Thinking about it carefully... even if Selina had wanted to plagiarize, she wouldn’t have done it so blatantly...

"Jas, are you seriously suspecting Angelica?"

Katie’s eyes welled up with tears. "My poor Angelica... Even though she isn’t your biological daughter, she’s done nothing but devote herself to Clark Group. She even reached out to Damien for help! How can you doubt her?"

Hearing Damien’s na, Jas imdiately felt reassured.

"Nonsense! How could I ever doubt Angelica? After this plagiarism scandal is dealt with, I’ll send Selina abroad. Out of sight, out of mind."

At Sapphire Valley Villa, Selina calmly put away her phone.

"Gavin, you asked how I planned to handle this, right?"

Gavin looked at her intently.

Selina’s lips curved into a faint smirk. "Of course... I’ll solve it in the way the Clark Family cares about most."

Plagiarism? An A-list actor?

Then she would make sure Jas saw the real plagiarist for who they were.

And let him witness firsthand who Damien Brown was truly willing to support.

8 PM the next evening.

At Clark Group’s gala, Angelica was dressed in an exquisite gown, radiating elegance like the perfect socialite.

Whispers filled the room:

"So Mr. Clark has really decided to let Angelica inherit Clark Group? But she’s just a stepdaughter..."

"Well, his own daughter committed plagiarism. And Angelica, despite being a stepdaughter, secured a partnership with Damien Brown. Her jewelry designs are a massive hit. If I were Mr. Clark, I’d choose Angelica too."

"Wait, Angelica actually got Damien to co? No wonder she’s a goddess! Not only does she have Mr. Reid supporting her, but now even an A-list actor is backing her..."

Not far away, Jas was beaming with pride as he approached Angelica. "Angelica, the board has agreed to hand Clark Group over to you. I’ll make the announcent shortly."

Angelica smiled gracefully. "That’s all thanks to your guidance, Uncle Clark."

People continuously ca forward to flatter her:

"So this is Miss Angelica? Mr. Clark, you’re truly lucky to have such a capable successor."

"Miss Angelica, I have a film script—would you be interested?"

"Miss Angelica, I’d love to offer you an endorsent deal..."

"Mr. Clark, I genuinely want to collaborate with Clark Group, and not for any other reason—just because of Miss Angelica’s outstanding talent in design. Please give a chance!"

Jas was basking in the praise, feeling lighter than air. "Angelica, you really are extraordinary!"

Angelica maintained her gentle and humble deanor. "This is simply my duty. Uncle Clark, rest assured, I will lead Clark Group through this crisis. However, regarding the plagiarism scandal..."

Jas’ expression darkened as he suddenly rembered sothing.

"Right... Where is Selina?!"

Tonight, she was supposed to publicly admit her wrongdoing and apologize.

She wouldn’t dare back out, would she?

Angelica’s eyes flickered with thought before she sighed, "Uncle Clark, I can understand Selina. If she doesn’t want to, then let it go. If the collaboration with Mr. Brown doesn’t work out this ti, there’s always another chance..."

Jas’ expression changed instantly. "No! That won’t do!"

Damien wasn’t just an award-winning actor—he was also the head of the Brown Family. Collaborating with the Browns was an opportunity Jas had never even dared to dream of.

Who could guarantee there would be a next ti?

If Selina didn’t admit to plagiarism, Damien wouldn’t proceed with the partnership. That ant...

"I’ll send soone to bring her here. She’ll co whether she wants to or not!"

A satisfied smile finally appeared on Angelica’s face. "Uncle Clark, once Mr. Brown arrives, I’ll introduce you to him personally."

"Good, good!" Jas couldn’t help but sigh in admiration. "Angelica, you truly are the Clark Family’s lucky star—to have secured the support of the Brown Family’s leader."

A glimr of uncertainty flashed across Angelica’s eyes. Truthfully, she had no idea why Damien had suddenly agreed to attend Clark Group’s gala.

But no one else here had the influence to invite Damien.

That could only an he was coming for her!

...

Outside the Banquet Hall.

Logan asked in a low voice, "Do you want to go in with you?"

Selina blinked and smiled. "No need."

After all, she was about to expose Angelica—the woman Logan once considered his benefactor. It was better to keep things low-key.

"Mr. Reid, don’t worry. I’m just going in to say a few words. I’ll be out in no ti!"

Logan leaned down slightly. "You won’t get bullied?"

Selina raised a hand in mock solemnity. "I won’t get bullied!"

If anything, she was the one doing the bullying.

After she walked in, Jack quickly stepped forward, visibly concerned. "Sir, there are rumors everywhere that Miss Angelica invited Damien. If he testifies against Madam, then—"

Jack was panicking.

Even if Madam didn’t want Mr. Reid to step in, he couldn’t just stand by and do nothing!

You’ll lose your wife at this rate!

But Logan rely smirked when he heard Damien’s na.

"Damien..."

It seed there was truly nothing for him to worry about.

...

"Mr. Reid, will you be joining inside?"

A soft, expectant voice rang out as Angelica hurried over, lifting the hem of her dress delicately. Her face carried a hint of shyness. "I had no idea you were coming..."

People around them gasped in surprise.

"Mr. Reid is here? Angelica must have a lot of influence."

"More than that—based on what Angelica just said, Mr. Reid wasn’t originally planning to attend, but changed his mind last minute. Could it be because of her?"

Hearing this, Angelica’s smile deepened, her gaze soft as she looked at Logan.

She had rushed over the mont she heard he was outside.

If she walked in with Logan by her side, who would dare challenge her position?

As long as...

"I’m sorry, Miss Clark, but our Mr. Reid will not be attending the banquet."

Jack stepped forward, blocking Angelica with a polite but distant smile. "Please, return inside."

Angelica’s face froze.

Logan rely gave a slight nod before turning away and heading back to his car, completely ignoring her trembling posture.

The surrounding guests exchanged puzzled looks.

Mr. Reid rejected Angelica... He didn’t co here for her?

Then why was he here at all?

Clark Group had booked the entire banquet hall. If Logan had co just to leave, there was only one possibility—he had personally dropped soone off.

Who had the honor of being personally escorted by Mr. Reid?

Realization dawned on Angelica, and her expression turned dark.

It must be Selina.

Logan must have done it simply because of their marriage.

But why? Why is that wretched woman so lucky? Why did she get to beco Mrs. Reid?

No matter—tonight, she would utterly ruin Selina!

Damien despised plagiarism. She could use him to completely destroy Selina’s reputation...

...

Elsewhere.

As Selina approached the banquet hall, her phone buzzed with a new ssage.

Damien: [I heard you’ve been bullied. Want to handle it for you?]
