Selina’s heart pounded violently.

Logan’s deep-set eyes were reflected in her gaze. She opened her mouth slightly. "I..."

Thud—

A loud noise interrupted Selina mid-sentence.

Hiding nearby, Luke stood frozen in shock, as if struck by lightning.

W-what... What did he just hear? Was this really Logan? Had he misheard?!

Luke’s face burned with embarrassnt. He wanted to sneak away quietly, but as he turned, his head smacked directly into the wall. With a loud bang, he tumbled onto the floor.

Luke: "..." His toes curled with awkwardness, and all he wanted was to flee the planet imdiately.

Selina instinctively turned around. Logan’s expression darkened. "Co out."

Luke shivered and hesitantly stepped out from behind the wall, looking utterly terrified.

"Log—Logan, please don’t hit ! I didn’t hear anything!"

Logan’s expression remained unreadable. Luke stiffened, deciding that if he was going to die, he might as well say his piece. Mustering all his courage, he shouted:

"But I still have to say it! I do NOT approve of this marriage! No matter what, I don’t agree!"

What had he just heard?! Was that really sothing Logan would say? Selina really did have tricks up her sleeve—she’d even managed to turn Logan into a different person!

Logan didn’t even spare him a glance. He simply turned to Selina and said, "Let’s go."

Selina blinked. For a mont, she couldn’t quite tell what kind of relationship these two brothers actually had.

Luke was getting more and more anxious. Ugh, why won’t Logan listen? He had spent years searching for the woman from four years ago, and now she was almost within reach—but he was already married! What if Logan regretted it in a few days?!

Before he could sort out his thoughts, Logan and Selina had already disappeared from sight.

At Sapphire Valley Villa, Selina carried her violin upstairs to rest, while Jack approached Logan from the side.

"Sir, the investigation results are in."

Logan’s expression darkened. "And?"

Jack lowered his head further. "Madam... is indeed not the person from four years ago."

Logan’s gaze turned cold. "Are you certain?"

He had long suspected that Selina was the woman he had been searching for. But too many details didn’t match, so he had sent Jack to reinvestigate.

Until now, there hadn’t been any solid leads. So why was Jack suddenly so certain?

Jack dared not hide the truth. "Sir, because... that woman has already appeared."

Logan abruptly turned around.

"Young Master Luke probably knows as well. Do you wish to proceed with the divorce? I can arrange the paperwork—"

"Did I say I wanted a divorce?" Logan interrupted indifferently. "Transfer that villa over to her for ."

Jack was taken aback.

He knew Logan wasn’t soone who acted on impulse. The only reason he had agreed to the marriage in the first place was because he believed Selina was that woman.

Now that the truth had co out and the real woman had been found... Logan still wasn’t divorcing?

Not only that—he was asking Jack to hand over a villa. He wasn’t even planning to et her in person.

Logan tapped his fingers lightly on the table. "Don’t let Selina find out about this."

Jack didn’t dare press further. "Understood. About tomorrow’s banquet—should I send an invitation to Madam?"

Logan’s tone was indifferent as he let out a faint scoff. "What for? So she can watch the Carter family make a fool of themselves?"

Jack hesitated but had to agree. The Carter family had invited Logan, but he obviously wasn’t going to attend. If they wanted to put on a one-man show, so be it.

Honestly, the Carter family hosting this banquet was quite shaless. It was probably best if Selina didn’t go.

Then again... he had heard that Luke was planning to join in the fun.

...

Upstairs, Selina was searching for sheet music in the master bedroom. She couldn’t find it, but instead, she accidentally knocked a book off the shelf.

The pages flipped open, and an old, yellowed note slipped out. It was clear that the note had been preserved carefully despite its age. The handwriting on it was crisp and legible.

Selina froze.

Why would there be a note inside a book in Logan’s master bedroom?

And more importantly, the handwriting was clearly a woman’s.

She scanned the words on the paper—

[I’ll think about it. If I agree, I’ll put a rose in the vase by the window on the tenth floor.]

The ssage was vague and out of context, making it hard to decipher. But the words "agree" and "rose" made Selina overthink instinctively.

A strange, indescribable emotion welled up inside her. Pressing her lips together, she decided not to dwell on it and simply put the note back.

But at that mont—

A sudden rush of mories crashed into her mind.

—A glass vase sat by a window. The seasons changed, the weather shifted, but the vase remained in place. And yet, the rose never arrived.

A voice echoed in her head:

"Alright, I’ll think about it. If I agree, I’ll put the rose in the vase."

"Okay, I’ll wait for your answer."

Selina clutched her temple. What is happening? Why was she rembering this?

Could these be her mories?

But if she had t Logan before, there was no reason he wouldn’t rember her.

And the handwriting on the note—it clearly wasn’t hers.

Am I just overthinking things and making false connections?

The next evening, after class, Selina received a call from Kevin.

"The restaurant on Fifth Avenue has been reclaid. It’s now under your na. Want to check it out?"

Seeing that it was still early, Selina didn’t refuse and asked the driver to turn around.

When she arrived, she noticed a bustling crowd outside the restaurant—it seed like an event was taking place.

"The Carter Family is really going all out this ti, booking the entire AS Grand Hotel. Ryan must feel like a king tonight."

"Yeah, but isn’t Jacob supposed to be the Carter Family heir? Why is Old Mr. Carter throwing such a huge banquet for Ryan?"

"No idea. I heard it’s to officially introduce Ryan’s fiancée, Natalia."

Whispers and gossip filled the air as people speculated about the event.

"The Carter Family really doesn’t care that Natalia was the mistress? I rember Selina once saved Ryan’s life—she even got a scar from it. And now they’re treating her like this? Cold-blooded."

"Oh, you’re mistaken. It wasn’t Selina who saved Ryan back then."

A smug voice cut through the murmurs.

Katie, linking arms with Natalia, smirked.

"Our dear Natalia has always been selfless. She never took credit for saving Ryan, and it was Selina who falsely claid the honor. Now that Ryan knows the truth, of course, he wants to be with the real woman who saved him. How could anyone call that heartless?"

The people gossiping exchanged uneasy glances, hesitant to speak up.

Katie’s smirk deepened.

"A prestigious family like the Carters would never accept an illegitimate child. But the old master personally agreed to let Natalia marry in. And why is that? Because she’s Ryan’s true savior, obviously!"

Jas chid in, "My daughter has nothing to hide. I’d advise you all to be careful with your words."

Selina watched this self-righteous charade unfold before her, unable to suppress a laugh.

Natalia is Ryan’s so-called ’savior’?

What a joke.

Without hesitation, she stepped forward.
