Bella stamred, her face deathly pale. "I just... I just forgot for a mont... Luke, I didn’t do it on purpose."

Selina clicked her tongue twice. "Miss Hayes says she forgot, so let’s just assu she did. Logan, let’s head to the auction hall."

Logan cast Bella a cold glance. "Suit yourself."

Bella staggered, nearly losing her balance.

As the two of them walked away, she clenched her fists tightly, unwilling to accept defeat. Tears welled up and finally fell as she choked out, "Luke, I didn’t expect Selina to hate this much. Logan and I are just ordinary friends... Maybe I shouldn’t have co back to the country..."

But instead of the comfort she expected, Luke simply asked, "Bella, did you really forget to tell they were married?"

Bella’s entire body stiffened before she quickly turned even more pitiful. "Luke, are you doubting too?"

Luke hesitated, feeling a pang of guilt. "Bella, no matter what, you and Logan broke up. He has a family now—it’s ti to let go."

Bella nearly lost her mind. This is NOT what I wanted to hear!

"But Luke, Logan and Selina’s marriage is just a contract! They don’t even love each other! Selina has had so many boyfriends I can’t even count them—I’m only worried that Logan won’t be happy..."

By the end of her sentence, Bella was sobbing uncontrollably.

Luke wanted to console her, but reason held him back.

At first, he had mocked Selina because Bella had told him that she and Logan were supposed to get married—until a vixen nad Selina ca in and ruined everything.

Naturally, Luke had assud Selina was in the wrong.

But after seeing her today and learning the truth, he no longer thought that was the case.

"Bella, whether she’s had boyfriends or not—that’s for Logan to worry about. If he doesn’t mind, why do you?"

Bella continued crying. "Luke, you don’t understand. Only I can make Logan happy. If their marriage is a mistake, then it should be—"

"How do you know it’s a mistake?"

For the first ti, Luke found her unfamiliar, his voice hoarse. "Bella, when Logan wasn’t married, I supported you. But now he is. You’re not planning to be the other woman, are you?"

Bella froze, barely holding her expression together. "Of course... Of course not! Luke, how could you think that? Logan and I are just like siblings!"

She quickly added, "If they’re happy, I’ll give them my blessing from afar. Luke, don’t worry, I’m the eldest daughter of the Hayes Family—I would never stoop so low as to interfere in soone else’s marriage."

Luke finally looked satisfied. "Good. Bella, whatever you do, just don’t be a howrecker. Logan hates people like that."

The ntion of howreckers made Luke’s expression darken slightly.

In the Reid Family, the story of Alia and Anna was no secret. As Alia’s favorite biological son, Luke knew exactly how his mother had climbed to the top—by taking another woman’s place.

Whether or not Selina was a vixen, Logan had married her. That made them husband and wife.

No matter how unsuitable they were, it wasn’t up to outsiders to judge.

Bella let out a soft sigh. "Luke, I understand. As long as Logan is happy, that’s all that matters. By the way, you should go apologize to Selina later. Calling her a vixen was a bit too much."

At that, all of Luke’s previous doubts vanished into thin air.

Bella had just been humiliated, yet she was still concerned about whether Selina would be upset?

Yeah, no way she would do anything shaless.

Bella smiled gently, watching as Luke walked away.

The mont he disappeared, her expression twisted into sothing dark and vicious.

Selina, I will make sure you fall into complete ruin!

Auction hall.

The charity auction did not have private rooms; everyone’s seats were arranged in the main hall, and even Logan was no exception.

The mont they sat down, a chilling voice sounded from the side.

"Big Brother is here too? Could it be that there’s sothing that even you have your eyes on today?"

Selina frowned and turned her head, spotting Owen.

She looked at Logan and casually asked, "Did you hear that? Sounds like a dog barking."

"You—" Owen almost lost his composure. He gritted his teeth before sneering, "You must be here for the final auction item—the South City land, right?"

South City land?

Selina blinked.

She had heard Alia and Owen talk about that land countless tis. So they still haven’t managed to get it?

Logan didn’t even lift his eyelids. "Scram."

"Logan, what the hell are you acting all high and mighty for?!"

Nothing infuriated Owen more than Logan’s indifference.

When Logan first returned to the Reid Family, he had been nothing more than a beggar—hungry, dressed in rags. anwhile, Owen was the proud and noble eldest young master of the Reid Family!

Yet Logan had always looked at him with those sa cold, indifferent eyes, making Owen feel an overwhelming sense of sha and rage.

He gritted his teeth. "Logan, aren’t you desperate to find out what happened to her four years ago? I have information. Give up on the South City land, and I’ll tell you everything!"

Selina’s gaze snapped up.

That person from four years ago...

For so reason, just hearing that phrase made her feel an inexplicable pressure in her chest.

Four years ago, Logan had soone he deeply cared about—soone he had been searching for all this ti.

If he found her... then what about ?

What did that woman an to Logan?

Seeing Logan remain silent, Owen thought he had him cornered. He smirked smugly. "As long as you give up on the land, I’ll—"

Logan suddenly let out a chuckle, his cold eyes finally lifting.

"I told you to scram."

Owen’s face twisted in rage. He could feel the surrounding guests casting mocking glances at him.

Furious, he spat, "Fine! Just you wait, Logan! You’ll never find her! Mark my words!"

He stord off in a fit of rage.

Selina rested her chin on her hand, unwilling to ask about that person from four years ago. Instead, she changed the subject.

"So, the final auction item is that piece of land? I rember you’ve been using it to ss with Owen for a while now."

Logan smiled lazily. "Tonight is just another part of the plan."

Just then, Jack leaned in and whispered, "Sir, I found so information. That person once worked here at this auction house."

Logan imdiately stood up, his tone still warm. "Selina, I need to step out for a mont."

Selina pressed her lips together.

She had heard it.

Jack had just said that person from four years ago had worked at this auction house.

So Logan was going to look into it.

A wave of frustration hit her.

Four years ago, four years ago... Why wasn’t I in City H back then? Why wasn’t I the one who t Logan?

That irritation lingered even as the auction began.

Bored, Selina flipped through the auction catalog. She went through the listings twice, yet Logan still hadn’t returned.

Pressing her lips together, she decided to get up and look for him.

But before she could take a step, a mocking voice sneered from nearby.

"What’s the point of looking at all those items? Not like you can afford any of them. Hilarious."

Selina rubbed her ears and followed the grating voice.

Rose stood there, her expression filled with arrogance.

"Every single item here has a starting price of over a million. Selina, do you even have money? You better not embarrass yourself by sitting here and spending nothing."

Selina, already in a bad mood, had just been looking for an outlet to vent. And Rose had walked right into it.

"Miss Hayes—"

Before Selina could speak, a cold, emotionless male voice cut through the air.

"Miss Hayes, you’re just a distant branch of the Hayes Family, yet you still managed to secure a seat here. So tell —why wouldn’t my wife be able to?"

Selina turned her head, her irritation instantly vanishing, replaced by delight.

Logan was back!
