Selina abruptly stopped in her tracks, narrowing her eyes.

Natalia sneered venomously, "Don’t even dream about it. That scar of yours will never heal!"

Selina turned back, stepping up to her, grasping Natalia’s chin with a smirk.

"Never heal? I wasn’t sure before, wondering why so many doctors failed to treat it. But now I understand—the blade was coated with poison."

She leaned in close to Natalia’s ear, her tone laced with danger and dominance. "Let guess, that kidnapping incident... It was actually orchestrated by you and Katie, wasn’t it? The goal was to ruin my face. But sothing went wrong, and instead of my face, it left this scar on my neck."

Natalia’s face turned pale with shock, her mouth opening and closing, unable to form a single word. "You..."

"You want to know how I figured it out?"

Selina chuckled coldly. "You and your mother are both petty and vicious. You’ll do anything to steal a man. You were jealous of my looks, envious of my engagent, so you sched to take everything away from . It wasn’t exactly difficult to figure out."

Natalia clenched her teeth tightly.

She was right. That kidnapping was entirely Katie’s doing.

They had originally kidnapped Ryan, intending for Natalia to play the role of the heroine and save him. But by so twist of fate, Selina had been the one to go instead.

Katie, insecure about Selina’s beauty, had taken the opportunity to change the plan—ordering the kidnappers to ruin Selina’s face. But at the critical mont, Selina had managed to evade them, and in the end, only her neck had been scarred—permanently.

Natalia never expected Selina to piece it together. "So what if you know? You still have that scar. Even if you’re married to Mr. Reid, he’ll eventually grow tired of you!"

Selina arched an eyebrow. "Do you think every man is as shallow as Ryan? Why don’t you guess if Ethan, the genius doctor, is really just a fraud?"

Natalia’s expression flickered with uncertainty. What did she an? Ethan truly was a dical prodigy, but could it be... that the scar had already been treated?!

Her face twisted in alarm. Without thinking, she reached forward and ripped off Selina’s bandage—

The scar remained, an ugly mark across Selina’s otherwise flawless skin.

Natalia exhaled in relief before bursting into mocking laughter. "Ha! Selina, is this your ’treatnt’?"

She was elated, her expression twisted in triumph. "It looks even worse! That scar is never going away! Accept your fate—you’re dood to be ugly forever, unwanted and despised—"

Smack!

Selina’s hand struck Natalia’s face with a sharp slap. "You’re asking for it."

Natalia reeled in shock before screaming in rage, "You bitch! You dare hit ?! You should just die like your mother! Anyone who gets in my way deserves to be cut to pieces!"

Selina’s lips curled into a smirk, her gaze cold and sharp. "Still haven’t learned your lesson? Fine."

Smack! Another slap landed.

But this ti, Natalia didn’t retaliate.

Instead, her eyes filled with tears as she suddenly turned pitiful, glancing behind Selina.

"Big sister, I was only trying to help you... Please don’t do this to , sob sob..."

Selina barely had ti to react before she was suddenly shoved aside.

Ryan rushed forward, protectively pulling Natalia into his arms, his face twisted with fury. "Selina! What did Natalia ever do to deserve this?! You have no manners!"

Natalia clung to his chest, her voice soft and remorseful. "Ryan, please don’t be mad. Sister has every right to teach a lesson..."

Ryan’s heart ached for her, his anger overflowing. "Apologize to her!"

Selina casually ran her fingers through her hair, her tone lazy and indifferent. "Mr. Carter, don’t you even want to know why I hit Natalia?"

"It doesn’t matter! Hitting soone is wrong no matter what! Natalia is kind and innocent. You’re just jealous—"

"Natalia mocked my scar, saying it was too ugly to ever heal. She even cursed that I’d be stuck with it for life."

Selina cut him off, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Mr. Carter, surely you don’t think I was born with this scar, do you?"

Ryan’s face darkened. "T-That still doesn’t an it’s Natalia’s fault! You were already ugly to begin with. After all these years of treatnt, your scar is still there. Natalia was just helping you accept reality!"

Natalia’s eyes glead with schadenfreude. "Ryan, that’s exactly what I told my sister, but she just wouldn’t listen. Instead, she went to so quack doctor for treatnt. I was only worried that her wound would get worse."

"I never expected my sister to misunderstand my intentions. Selina, I truly hope you get better. That way, Ryan won’t have to be bound by his sense of obligation to you anymore."

Ryan’s expression instantly turned to one of disgust.

So what if Selina saved his life? Was that supposed to be held over his head for all these years? If it weren’t for that so-called ’lifesaving debt,’ he and Natalia would have been together long ago!

It was all Selina’s fault!

Blood rushed to Ryan’s head, and before he could think, he blurted out, "Why don’t you just die?! If you were going to save , why not go all the way and just die at the hands of the kidnappers?!"

Selina’s gaze turned ice-cold.

Ryan suddenly realized what he had just said, his face turning ghostly pale. If anyone else heard those words, he was finished!

But then, he reconsidered. He had only spoken the truth—he loved Natalia and wanted to be with his true love. Selina was the one blocking his path. So what was wrong with wanting her gone?

Ryan swallowed hard and pulled Natalia into his arms, looking down at Selina with arrogance. "Apologize to Natalia!"

Selina let out a slow laugh.

She clapped her hands together in mock admiration. "That was quite the performance. A touching love story—should I pay for a ticket?"

"Selina, you—"

"I think Miss Clark is right. After witnessing such a spectacular show, we really should pay for a ticket."

Ryan, furious, was about to lash out when a deep male voice cut through the air.

Jacob stepped in front of Selina, his gaze sweeping over the pair before him with a smirk. "What’s wrong? Cat got your tongue? Weren’t you quite talkative when you were mocking Miss Clark just now?"

Ryan was stunned.

W-What...? Why was his uncle here?! And why was he... protecting Selina?!

Did they know each other?

That wretched woman! Just how many n had she seduced?!

But Jacob was the one person Ryan could never afford to offend. His face turned red, then white with humiliation before he finally forced out a few words.

"You... You’ve misunderstood. Natalia and I weren’t mocking Selina..."

"Oh?" Jacob paused for a mont. "So you’re saying... I heard wrong?"

Ryan’s face drained of color, his knees nearly giving out. "N-No! I was wrong! Selina, I’m sorry! I’ll make sure Natalia behaves herself from now on!"

Jacob sneered. "Apologize."

Ryan clenched his jaw. "Natalia, apologize to Selina."

Natalia was completely dumbfounded. What the hell was going on?! Who was this man?! Was he Selina’s lover?

The more she thought about it, the more furious and indignant she beca. She let out a sharp, hysterical scream.

"I won’t apologize! Ryan, I won’t apologize! He’s just Selina’s sugar daddy—what’s there to be afraid of?! Ryan, are you really going to make lower myself for her?! Waaaahhh!"

Jacob’s smile was faint, yet terrifyingly dangerous. "Natalia, what did you just call ?"

"Selina’s... sugar daddy? Hah."

He slowly turned his gaze toward Ryan, his voice growing cold and sharp. "Tell her who I am."

Ryan’s vision nearly blacked out, his entire body trembling as he stamred, "You... You are—"

Selina, curious, turned to look at Jacob.

She knew he was from the Carter family, but why was Ryan so terrified of him?

Just who exactly was this man?
