Selina blinked in surprise, montarily stunned.

When did Logan get here?

That ant...

He had seen everything she just said?

Rose, her rant abruptly cut off, scowled impatiently.

"And who the hell do you think you are, daring to insult ? Do you even know who I am?!"

Logan lazily lifted his gaze, his eyes ice-cold.

Rose flinched instinctively but quickly straightened her back, unwilling to lose face in front of Selina.

She scoffed, crossing her arms.

"Selina, don’t tell this is another one of your lovers? You’re absolutely—"

"Rose!"

Bella cut in sharply, her voice laced with warning.

Then, she quickly composed herself and forced a soft, gentle smile.

"Logan, I didn’t realize you were here too."

Logan’s presence was overwhelming—the mont she t his gaze, her smile faltered.

He didn’t even glance at her.

Bella’s face paled slightly.

Rose, however, had only just processed his na.

Her eyes widened in horror.

"M-Mr. Reid?!"

She felt like the ground had been ripped from under her.

Oh no.

She had just insulted Logan Reid to his face.

Her mind reeled. This wasn’t how things were supposed to go.

Wasn’t Selina completely unwanted by Mr. Reid?

Wasn’t this marriage a hollow agreent destined for failure?

Why was he stepping in for her?!

Gordon, watching all this unfold, looked left and right in confusion.

He had simply taken Selina shopping, and sohow, this had spiraled into a full-blown scandal—with Logan walking in at the worst possible mont.

Gordon hesitated.

He wasn’t sure what kind of temper Logan had, but for the sake of Selina’s marriage, it was probably best if he took the bla and cleared up any misunderstandings.

But just as he was about to step forward—

Logan casually took a step closer to Selina and spoke, his usual cold tone laced with sothing... surprisingly gentle.

"Sorry, I was late. Did they make things difficult for you?"

Gordon: "...?"

Who was being wronged here?

Selina, clearly enjoying the attention, dabbed at nonexistent tears with a pitiful little sniffle.

Then, in her usual sickly-sweet tone, she complained, "Logan, how could I possibly feel wronged? Miss Hayes keeps insisting she’s your childhood friend, which ans she has the right to lecture ."

"It’s fine, really. If I can endure it, I should. After all, if I complain, won’t they accuse of stirring up trouble between you two?"

Bella’s smile froze.

This scheming bitch!

Logan’s expression darkened.

"Miss Hayes and I are nothing more than acquaintances. There was never any ’childhood sweetheart’ nonsense. I’ve explained this many tis before—do you have a mory problem, Miss Hayes?"

Selina let out an exaggerated "Ohhh~" and then tilted her head mockingly.

"So all this ’childhood sweetheart’ talk was just a delusion on Miss Hayes’ part? My, my. So people really have no self-awareness."

The words landed like a sharp slap across Bella’s face.

Her entire body trembled.

Tears welled up in her eyes and spilled over.

Logan... how could he be this cruel?

Just for Selina, he was willing to embarrass her so thoroughly?

They had grown up together.

And yet, because of this ridiculous ’Mrs. Reid’ title, was he really willing to cut her off completely?

Bella couldn’t understand how she had lost.

She was better educated, more refined, and from a more prestigious background.

Did Logan... really just prefer won who acted all soft and pitiful?

She forced a smile, humiliated but unwilling to give up.

"Logan... I’m sorry. I should’ve been more considerate. But I really was just looking out for Miss Clark..."

Rose, however, was furious.

She couldn’t stand seeing Selina act so arrogant!

Clenching her fists, she snapped, "Mr. Reid, my cousin is right! Selina is being kept as a mistress by this man! She’s cheating on you!"

"A mistress?"

Logan’s brows lifted slightly, as if he had just heard the most ridiculous joke.

Then, suddenly—

He laughed.

A low, cold chuckle.

Rose’s body went rigid with fear.

She swallowed hard, but still forced out her argunt.

"Y-Yes! This man just spent a million on her! If that’s not being kept as a mistress, then what is—"

Logan cut her off.

"It seems the Hayes Family is rotten from top to bottom."

Rose, completely missing the point, frantically clarified, "Mr. Reid, I was talking about Selina—"

"Exactly," Logan interrupted coolly.

"The elders of the Hayes Family are infamous for keeping mistresses, so when Miss Hayes saw Selina with her uncle, the first thing that ca to mind wasn’t family—it was being ’kept.’"

His tone was casual, almost indifferent, but his words were razor-sharp.

"This only proves one thing: the Hayes Family, from top to bottom, is utterly disgraceful. And since Miss Hayes has been exposed to such behavior all her life, she assus everyone else operates the sa way."

The implication was crystal clear.

Why had Bella and Rose imdiately jumped to the conclusion that Selina was so kept woman?

Because they had witnessed too many of their own family mbers doing the sa thing.

Selina’s eyes twinkled mischievously before she suddenly threw herself into Logan’s arms.

"Logan, let’s not be mad at Miss Hayes anymore. I was upset earlier, but after hearing her reasoning, I just feel sorry for her."

She delivered her lines with perfect ’soft-hearted heroine’ energy.

"After all, it’s not her fault she grew up without proper guidance. With such a family, it’s no wonder her morals are a little... skewed. She’s already suffered enough—let’s not hold it against her."

Gordon: "..."

He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Luna, darling, this act is way too obvious.

No one is going to buy it.

And yet—

Logan solemnly nodded, completely unfazed.

"Alright. Whatever you say."

Gordon nearly choked on air.

Bella’s hands trembled violently, her vision swimming with dizziness.

Selina had just mocked her entire family lineage in front of everyone, and Logan agreed with her.

This wretched woman—!

This lowly, conniving woman!

Bella forced herself to calm down, inhaling sharply to avoid fainting from sheer anger.

With a forced smile, she lowered her gaze and softened her voice.

"Logan... I sincerely apologize. I was reckless today. But I didn’t an to target Selina—I was just afraid you’d misunderstand her. That’s why I asked..."

Selina nodded enthusiastically, her face full of innocent understanding.

"Oh, I know. Miss Hayes isn’t at fault—it’s her family that’s the problem. I believe you an well, but don’t worry! No matter what you say, Logan will never doubt . Right, Logan?"

Logan curved his lips slightly.

This bratty, self-assured Mrs. Reid...

She was adorable.

He gently traced her brow with his fingertips, his voice low and firm.

"Right."

Selina spun around triumphantly.

"Did you hear that, Miss Hayes?"

Bella nearly choked on her own breath.

"..."

She was so lightheaded with frustration that for a mont, she thought she might pass out.

But gritting her teeth, she forced a tight, painful smile.

"G-Good. Then I’ll take my leave, Logan... I’ll see you at Mr. Gordon’s art exhibition in two days."

Selina’s eyes flickered with amusent.

Oh?

So Bella still didn’t know who her "Uncle Gordon" was?

Interesting.

She wondered what kind of face Miss Hayes would make at the exhibition.

Gordon, who had watched the entire debacle in silence, finally spoke, looking sowhat bewildered.

"...Selina, this is your husband?"

Selina nodded casually.

"Yep! You know each other, don’t you?"

Logan and Gordon had spoken on the phone.

Gordon’s expression grew even more perplexed.

"Yes, we’ve spoken... but I wasn’t expecting Mr. Reid to be so... unique."

He struggled for a polite way to phrase it.

Because watching Logan blindly trust Selina’s over-the-top performance—despite how unconvincing it was—was truly sothing else.

This legendary Mr. Reid...

He really did seem like a foolish king, hopelessly doting on his queen.
