Four years ago?

Selina swallowed. "I was in City A the whole ti. Didn’t go anywhere else."

That was true. She had only traveled between City A and Country B.

Logan’s gaze darkened. "You never went to City H?"

Selina thought for a mont before shaking her head firmly. "No, never."

Unless absolutely necessary, she would never travel far alone. So City H? She had really never been there.

Logan narrowed his eyes. Was he overthinking it?

It made sense. If the person from back then had really been her, why wouldn’t she have recognized him?

A wave of disappointnt washed over Logan as he pressed his fingers to his temple. "Ti’s up. Let’s head to the banquet."

Selina nodded, but her mind was racing.

Why was Logan asking this? Was it related to the person he had been searching for four years ago? But that person couldn’t possibly be her, so why was he asking?

The evening banquet had officially begun, and the guests were arriving one after another.

The lunch gathering had been just a family affair, but tonight was the grand and prestigious 70th birthday celebration for Grandma Perry.

Selina glanced around. Alia still hadn’t arrived. Grandpa Perry sat at the head seat, and whether the Perry Family was putting on a show or being genuine, every single one of them wore a pleasant smile.

Following Logan, Selina took her seat, but suddenly, she overheard a hushed conversation nearby.

"I heard Miss Hayes is coming tonight too."

"Which Miss Hayes?"

"Who else? Bella! I heard she was originally supposed to marry Mr. Reid. No idea how Selina ended up as Mrs. Reid instead."

"Hiss... So doesn’t that an Miss Hayes got replaced by a howrecker? Can the Hayes Family tolerate that?"

"Who knows? But Miss Hayes even brought a renowned pianist to perform for the old lady’s birthday. I bet Selina doesn’t even know how to play the piano."

At the ntion of the piano, the crowd fell silent.

After all, the old lady’s own daughter—Perry Family’s late eldest miss, Anna—had been a pianist.

It was clear Bella had invited the pianist to please the old lady.

The way people looked at Selina carried a mix of scrutiny and disdain.

"Miss Hayes went through so much effort for the old lady. What has Selina done?"

"How does she even have the audacity to sit there..."

Selina’s eyes narrowed. So Bella, after failing to gain favor with Logan, decided to stir up public opinion instead? Clever.

Logan’s gaze turned cold. He casually set down his wine glass and swept an icy glance over the crowd.

The ones gossiping just monts ago suddenly felt their throats tighten, their faces paling.

"Everyone, that’s enough."

A gentle female voice suddenly cut in.

Bella, looking elegant and poised, smiled softly. "Selina isn’t the kind of person you’re making her out to be. Today is the old lady’s birthday—I wouldn’t want to upset her."

The guests instinctively compared Bella and Selina. But with Logan present, no one dared to speak too harshly.

"Miss Hayes is so considerate, even standing up for Selina."

"Yeah, the old lady is sure to like her more."

Bella gave a helpless smile. "As younger generations, our only goal is to make the elders happy. It doesn’t matter who they favor more, right, Logan?"

Selina raised an eyebrow. Well, well... If she didn’t already know what kind of person Bella was, she might have actually believed her.

Bella was banking on Logan not saying anything harsh out of respect for the Hayes Family and the old lady. That’s why she dared to ask.

But Logan, completely unfazed, replied smoothly, "That’s true. But between you and Selina, Grandma definitely likes Selina more. No doubt about it."

Selina: "..."

Oh, right. Logan was a straight-shooting expert when it ca to putting fake sweethearts in their place!

Bella’s expression stiffened for a split second. "That makes sense. After all, it’s only natural for the old lady to favor her granddaughter-in-law more."

Her words made so of the guests feel sorry for her.

After all...

If Selina hadn’t appeared, Bella would have been Mrs. Reid.

Logan gave a slight nod. "Since you already know, why ask?"

"..." Bella’s smile faltered. "Logan, I’ll go check on Grandma first."

Selina suppressed a laugh.

Ever since that so-called "couple’s watch" incident, Logan had been noticeably colder toward Bella.

Was it just her imagination?

Under everyone’s gaze, Bella walked over to Grandma Perry, putting on a fresh smile.

"Grandma, I heard that Vivian was being disrespectful and upset you. Please don’t let such trivial matters affect your mood."

Grandma Perry glanced at her.

Bella spoke softly, "To celebrate your birthday, I’ve been practicing Distant Hocoming and would love to perform it for you."

Distant Hocoming...

A shift appeared in Grandma Perry’s expression, and those around her also reacted subtly.

Miss Hayes was truly... unbothered by Alia’s feelings.

Everyone knew that *Distant Hocoming* was Anna’s composition. And the relationship between Anna and Alia? That was sothing people avoided discussing.

Alia was now the Perry Family’s future heir and the esteed Mrs. Reid, while the real eldest daughter, Anna, had already passed away.

Bella playing this piece was a blatant slap to Alia’s face!

Clearly, Grandma Perry had realized the sa thing. Her expression improved significantly.

"You’ve put in quite the effort."

Bella smiled. "As long as it makes you happy. Oh, I also invited a pianist to perform with . He should be arriving soon, so I’ll go et him—"

"No need, I’m already here."

Before she could finish, a deep male voice rang out.

Everyone instinctively turned around—only to freeze in shock.

Wait a second... this man looked incredibly familiar...

Oh my god, wasn’t this Brody Taylor?!

Though they knew Bella had invited a renowned pianist, they never expected *him*!

Brody Taylor was an internationally acclaid pianist, a student of the legendary prodigy Gavin. He had a notoriously difficult temperant, never accepted comrcial performances, and rarely played for individuals.

Yet Bella had managed to bring him here?

A wave of murmurs spread through the crowd.

Mr. Reid had given up a woman like this... and married Selina instead?

Such a pity for Miss Hayes—she was even so attentive toward Grandma Perry.

Brody strode into the banquet hall with an air of arrogance, his gaze filled with superiority.

"Grandma Perry, I am Brody, an international pianist and a mber of the International Piano Association."

Grandma Perry frowned slightly. She wasn’t fond of his condescending attitude.

But since he was willing to perform *Distant Hocoming*...

She nodded. "Take a seat."

Noticing the excitent on everyone’s faces, Selina blinked.

Wait a minute... who was Brody?

The only pianists she knew were on Gavin’s level.

She had never heard of Brody.

Had he suddenly erged as a rising star in the music world while she wasn’t paying attention? But looking at his age... that didn’t seem likely.

Unable to resist, Selina quietly asked Logan, "Who is he? Is he really that famous?"

"You don’t know who Brody Taylor is, Miss Clark?"

Bella suddenly chuckled, shaking her head in amusent.

"Miss Clark, do you never pay attention to the music world? Brody Taylor is a world-renowned pianist, and you’ve never even heard of him?"

Logan narrowed his eyes, his expression darkening.
