Fiona’s POV
I shouldn’t have been shocked by what I witnessed, really. I’d seen this exact scenario the first ti Allen forced himself on .
Back then, I convinced myself it was just Allen and his warriors—their twisted way of doing things. God, how stupid I was. This wasn’t just them.
This was the Valerium way.
They shared everything. Everyone.
No sacred bonds existed here between mates. The powerful took whoever they craved, leaving ogas like us completely defenseless. We had zero power, zero choice in whether we participated or not.
This kingdom was blacker than the deepest pit of hell.
My pulse hamred when the woman’s desperate eyes found mine. Silent tears streaked her face as she wordlessly begged for help. What could I possibly do? I couldn’t even save myself, let alone rescue soone else.
My feet moved on their own, carrying away from the horrific scene. This was their nature—pure savagery.
"What are you doing, my sweet Fiona?"
I shrieked as fingers dug into my elbow, spinning around brutally. I hadn’t heard him approach—my mind was racing, desperately plotting an escape from this nightmare. But there was no way out. This was a trap.
"Let go of !" I ripped my arm free from Allen’s grasp, putting every ounce of fury I had into the motion. His companion just laughed at my disgust.
"I warned you about wandering at night, didn’t I?" Allen stood there shirtless, his wrinkled, sagging skin making my stomach lurch.
The mory hit —I’d let this revolting man touch , impregnate for drugs. What the hell had I been thinking? "I’m going back to my room."
I spun around, but Allen blocked my path. Behind him, the door gaped open, giving a clear view of his sick entertainnt.
Two ogas were bound to bedposts while three warriors lood over them like vultures.
"This might shock you, but join us and I’ll show you how my people really have fun."
I squinted, trying to see the ogas’ faces, but the warriors’ bodies blocked my view. Still, I could imagine their expressions mirrored the terror I’d seen monts before.
"How? By forcing yourself on them? Don’t you have any sha?" The words exploded from . "Go back to your sick gas. I’m leaving."
Allen chuckled, but didn’t move an inch.
"Why should I? This is who we are," he said with that disgusting laugh.
"Things work differently here, my sweet Fiona. Adapt or you’ll only torture yourself."
"I don’t need to adapt to anything," I shot back. "I’m getting out of here the second I get rid of this baby."
Allen’s eyebrows shot up. My harsh tone didn’t seem to faze him at all.
"You’re carrying this child—where exactly do you plan to go? Do you even have anywhere to run?"
His mocking tone made my skin crawl. He tilted his head with fake sympathy. "Be a good girl, Fiona, and you’ll have a decent life here."
"Decent?" I glanced at the won being used for the warriors’ pleasure. "That’s your idea of decent? No. I’d rather die than live like this."
Allen just shrugged. "You’re so uptight. I don’t an it that way," he cackled at his own crude joke, making rage boil in my veins.
Every fiber of my being despised this man.
"Try it once. Loosen up and discover what real pleasure feels like."
I wanted to claw that sick grin right off his face. "Keep dreaming. You can only take what you want by force—that’s all you know how to do. You have no clue what a true mate bond ans, how sacred it is. You’re lower than a slave!"
I thought I’d finally gotten under his skin, but Allen’s reaction made my fury burn even hotter.
He laughed. Actually laughed at .
"You really think your mate bond with Reginald is sothing special? Don’t make laugh. You trust him that much? Want to know sothing?" Allen stepped closer, forcing backward instinctively.
"Stay the hell away from !" I hissed like a cornered animal.
"You might be surprised by this little secret." Allen lowered his voice dramatically, like he was delivering so earth-shattering revelation. "Reginald agreed to let have you. Didn’t even hesitate for a second. I saw it in his eyes—no doubt whatsoever."
I scoffed. "You think I’d believe that garbage? You’re insane if you think your pathetic lies will turn against Reginald."
"Lies?" Allen’s grin widened. "Reginald’s the one who’s been lying to you. I never would’ve touched you without his permission. Our agreent was too crucial—I wouldn’t have made such an outrageous demand if Reginald had refused. We were equals then. He had the power to say no."
I ground my teeth together. I refused to buy into this. "You can rot in hell with your lies. I’ll never believe a word that cos out of your mouth."
This ti Allen was the one scoffing. "Fine. Believe whatever helps you sleep at night. But if this mate bond is so precious, why do you think he can stomach the thought of pleasuring you? And why am I still breathing when he’s had plenty of chances to kill ? Answer that, sweet Fiona."
