Perry’s POV
The chaos I’d unleashed wasn’t small by any asure.
I’d flipped everything upside down, obliterated anything within reach, like a tornado had ripped through this place.
Only one couch survived my rampage, and I claid it entirely, leaving Kevin no choice but to stand before . He clearly despised the arrangent.
"What’s on your mind?" I leaned forward, my electric blue eyes boring into the alpha as I folded my arms with growing impatience.
"Word is you’re planning to claim one of this pack’s ogas," Kevin ventured, attempting to et my stare but failing miserably. His gaze dropped to my chin instead. My intensity sent shivers down his spine—I could sense it.
"She happens to be my mate," I stated flatly. The whole pack witnessed marking her, though I now cursed my rash decision. "Got a problem with that?"
Happens to be. Kevin latched onto my choice of words, and his resolve solidified. "My king, I’m uncertain if you’re aware, but she’s hardly suitable for soone of your stature."
"Not suitable for ?" Malice flickered in my eyes, though Kevin missed it entirely since he couldn’t look at directly. "Explain."
"She’s... inappropriate." Kevin appeared troubled. "It shas to confess this, but she’s been throwing herself at . She was originally my mate, but given her slutty behavior before I even knew our connection, I rejected her.
She’s not right for you. You deserve far better."
"So you can screw her, but I can’t?"
Kevin’s head snapped up at my crude language. He stared at , catching the smile that never touched my eyes. "That’s not what I—she’s not queen material for the werewolf kingdom."
"Are we buddies, alpha?" I cocked my head, studying this newly appointed leader before , fantasizing about wrapping my hands around his throat. I could almost see his blood pooling from the gaping wound.
"Excuse , my king?"
"Have we been friends for long?"
"Um, no." Kevin had no clue where this was heading.
"Then piss off. Your opinion ans nothing to . I could crown a damn slave if I wanted." I didn’t need to raise my voice—my icy tone delivered the ssage perfectly.
I couldn’t care less what anyone thought of my choices.
"What’s the real issue? Can’t bear to surrender your little toy to your king?" I leaned closer, and despite sitting, I radiated enough nace to make Kevin’s knees shake.
Every fiber of Kevin’s being scread at him to retreat.
His survival instincts kicked in hard whenever danger approached, and my entire presence reeked of it.
"Do you want your plaything so badly you can’t let her go?" I arched an eyebrow, then let out a dark chuckle that rumbled from deep in my chest. "She belongs to now. Find yourself another woman to fuck."
My vulgar words clearly disturbed Kevin.
Too crude, even for his tastes.
"Alpha, if you fancy soone in this pack, I could arrange for another woman—soone more respectable," Kevin persisted, still desperate to keep Phoebe close.
His facade cracked, and I caught the scent of his desperation, his frantic need to hold onto that woman.
This amused slightly, considering the intel I’d gathered suggested she’d been the one chasing him.
"Stop right there, alpha. You’re pissing off. If I hear one more word of your bullshit persuasion, I’ll crush your skull like that." I gestured toward the shattered vase scattered across the floor.
Kevin’s mouth snapped shut. He wanted to speak but restrained himself, knowing better than to challenge —especially the mad king.
Sothing told Kevin I’d follow through on my threat without hesitation.
"Get out, alpha." This ti, barely contained rage laced my voice. "My royal beta advised against killing you, and I’d hate to disappoint him by ignoring his counsel."
Kevin bowed his head in submission and left without another word. Only after disappearing from my sight could he breathe normally again. My presence alone had been suffocating him.
He hurried away from the room as quickly as possible, fearing I might lose my mind again and make good on my promise.
anwhile, I destroyed the couch—the last surviving piece in that room. My irritation knew no bounds.
When Flynn entered again, he could only shake his head. "What now? Planning to tear down the entire building?"
"I absolutely could."
"No, you can’t." Flynn imdiately gripped my shoulder, steering out of the completely demolished room. "We’re ready to leave."
"That woman?" I growled. I refused to abandon her, especially after witnessing Kevin’s eagerness to keep her close. The thought alone made want to kill him on the spot.
"She’s in the car. We’re leaving now."
Flynn wouldn’t risk provoking further when my mood had turned this foul.
Initially, he’d wanted to leave that woman behind—why bring her anyway?
We walked toward the car together, and her scent hit imdiately.
