Although he had thought of a lot of speculations about why he didn’t use mana, never had the thought crossed his mind that it was due to him being rejected by this world.
’Rejected this world... how funny.’ He thought, his brows furrowing into a slight frown.
Despite Leon having explained everything to him, it still felt so surreal... like he was in a kind of dream.
But he knew within him, this wasn’t a dream... it was reality, his reality.
"Then the system... that white streak, why did it choose ?" Harry asked, turning back to Leon with a puzzled expression.
"If I was never supposed to be here, then how co that white streak ca to ?" He continued with another question, his head tilting to the side as he pondered his situation all over again. "And the system... I still don’t get how it fits in of this."
Leon signed, casting his gaze on the white ground beneath them.
"The streak was pulled towards you. You, , that white line... we all have a major thing in common, and that is the fact that we shouldn’t exist in this world." He said, staring off into the distance.
He then went on to explain everything, making sure it was as easy as possible for Harry to understand.
"Even after my main body was torn apart by my overflowing energy, my consciousness was still alive... existing within the energy streak, travelling back two hundred years into the past."
Harry’s brows shot up at his words, his eyes widening slightly in realisation.
"So... that’s why." He muttered, slowly piecing everything back once again.
When he thought back to the ti he ’arrived’ in the year 2015, he realized Leon didn’t even have a body, as that had already been disintegrated during the process of ti rewind.
So how co he was still able to see what happened in 2015, even though Leon wasn’t even present?
That was because his consciousness was still in Leon’s mind, watching everything through his perspective.
Suddenly, his face twisted into a frown, and his gaze snapped back to Leon.
"Does that an... you’ve been in that ’white line’ for... two hundred years?" Harry asked.
"Yeah," Leon answered, making a slight nod. "For the past two hundred years, my energy has just been roaming around the world... watching as humans struggle against the mana beasts, and also as they evolved."
"Since the ’white streak’ was sothing from a different tiline... its existence wasn’t recognised by the world, which was how no one was able to notice ... well until I t you."
"Due to your lack of mana, the white streak was pulled towards you... and just like that, it beca one with you."
"Because of that... you were able to awaken as a manaless mage... receiving the system also." Leon continued, his eyes flickering with a strange glint.
"And?" Harry asked, raising his brows in confusion. "What about the system... how does it exist? Did you create it...?"
Throughout all the ti he spent in Leon’s mind, he never saw anything related to the "Manaless mage system", nor did he hear it from anyone else.
So he couldn’t help but wonder... how exactly did the system co into being, and why did he have it?
Leon didn’t have a system, unlike him, he only grew stronger by learning how to harness his energy to the full capacity.
His case, however, was very different. While he indeed channelled his energy, he relied mostly on the system to grow stronger, a stark contrast to Leon.
"The manaless mage system..." Leon muttered, his face twisting into a slight frown.
"I didn’t exactly ’create’ the system. If anything, it was ford by my energy when it rged with you." He said, his gaze locking with Harry’s.
"Ford by your energy... when it rged with ?" Harry muttered, a confused frown appearing on his face. "I don’t understand... what’s that supposed to an?"
"Over the past two hundred years, I ca to a painful realisation... that I’ll never be able to be a part of this tiline... this world."
"I thought of many things, many ways in which I could fix everything, but none of them worked."
"All I could do was hope to find the manaless mage in this tiline, and help him grow stronger as quickly as possible... so he could be ready for what was to co."
Harry’s eyes narrowed, and his lips parted slightly, however, no words ca out.
He only listened to all Leon was saying, etching each word deep within his mind, so they would never be forgotten.
Leon paused for a few seconds, before continuing: "Those thoughts... were what kept going all through the years."
"However, our energy isn’t ordinary. It adapts no matter the situation, and that is what makes it truly terrifying."
As Leon spoke, the frown on Harry’s face deepened even further, still confused about the system.
Nonetheless, he remained calm, focusing on even the tiniest details in Leon’s words.
"Just before rging with you, my energy took into consideration all those thoughts... as well as the best way to rge without damaging your soul."
"Sothing that could help you grow, slowly adapting to the energy, while also preventing your body and soul from breaking apart... that is the manaless mage system." He said, causing Harry’s eyes to widen in shock.
"Sothing to make adapt to the energy..." He muttered, a thin line creasing along his brows.
"Yeah... the system is extrely similar to those VR gas I used to play as a kid... my energy probably used that as the ’base’ for the system," Leon said, sighing under his breath.
"Whenever you complete a quest or level up, it takes so of the energy in this space, giving it to you as energy points, stats... helping you grow stronger step by step."
At first, everything he was saying sounded outright outrageous to Harry, however, the more he thought about it, it started to make sense to him.
To properly integrate into him, the white steak rged with his soul in the form of the system, granting him the ability to develop a lot faster than he was supposed to.
aning that at so point, he would gain all the energy floating in this white room, reaching the sa unimaginable level of power Leon reached just before he crumbled apart.
He couldn’t help but wonder... after he had absorbed all the energy previously possessed by Leon, would he still be able to level up?
And then the system, would it just leave him having competed its job?
All this questions kept piling up within him, however, not even Leon had the answer to them.
All he knew was that the system was ant to help him gradually adapt to the high amount of energy within him, bringing him to a new height of power.
But still, even the things he knew about the system were simply mind-blowing, leaving him reeling from the shock.
’What kind of energy... do I actually have?’ He couldn’t help but wonder, his eyes narrowing into a slight frown.
"The truth behind our energy is a mystery..." Leon suddenly said, jolting him out of his thoughts.
"Even after searching for years, I wasn’t able to find anything about it. Not even the celestials seed like they knew the truth behind it, all they knew was its terrifying strength."
