Although ti freeze was still active, the intense strain he had been feeling on his energy suddenly vanished, surprising him.
Confused about what was going on, he swiftly placed his hand on his chest, carefully inspecting his energy.
’Wow...’ Leon thought, his eyes shining with glee as he inspected his energy.
The white fla within his chest was burning with even more vigour, its size about three tis larger than it was before.
He didn’t understand what just happened, but he was currently overflowing with power!
With how much energy flowing through him, he felt he could even sustain ti freeze on the floor forever!
’What is this... how co my energy suddenly increased?’ He thought, narrowing his eyes in shock and confusion.
The last thing he rembered was that strange black smoke sinking into his head, and before he knew it, his energy suddenly underwent a massive growth.
’That smoke creature... could it be... that I absorbed it?!’ He thought, a strange glint flashing through his eyes.
Although he seriously doubted that was what happened, it was the first possible situation that ca to his mind.
Based on what the strange smoke said before it charged at him, he doubted its plan had been to help him in any way.
So how co he suddenly received a boost in his energy?!
The only plausible answer he was able to co up with was that the smoke had indeed tried to attack him in so way.
But fortunately for him, his energy repelled the strange creature and he was sohow able to absorb it, thereby increasing his strength.
However, a part of him still felt that his thought might be a little bit far-fetched, and none of it might be what he was thinking.
The reason for this was that he didn’t know anything about that smoke.
He didn’t know the reason why it had to possessed Harry’s mother, neither did he know why it attacked him, or what it was trying to achieve by doing that.
Besides, it also knew what kind of power his elent possessed, and had asked him a rather strange question.
’What’s your aim on here?’ The smile face being’s question resurfaced in Leon’s mind, causing his expression to twist into a deep frown.
What did it an by that... he didn’t know.
’I hate this...’ He thought, gnashing his teeth in annoyance.
Being in the dark about this whole situation greatly annoyed him, however, he didn’t really have a choice other than to bear with it.
He was practically clueless about everything that was going on, whether it was his elent, or his energy, or even the true origins of that weird smoky face being.
’I’m going to make sure I get to the bottom of all this! And to do that, I need to get stronger!’ He thought.
If he ever encountered a situation like this again, where ti freeze was ineffective on his opponent, he would he completely helpless.
He had to develop his elent, in order to learn more ways of attacking other than just relying on ti freeze.
However, doing that would be anything but easy.
Unlike normal Elentalists who had spell scrolls and the large number of information accumulated by Elentalist over the years, he had to do everything on his own.
He was basically alone with his problems.
With what just happened, he doubted revealing his elent to the world would do him any good.
They could suspect him in relation to the possession, and might even experint on him to find the true nature of his elent!
The thought of that was really scary...
Unbeknownst to him, while he was busy deliberating on his situation, the black lines around the neck of Harry’s mother slowly vanished into thin air, leaving no trace of their previous presence.
’I should leave...’ Leon thought, dashing out of the ward.
Although he wasn’t feeling any pressure from keeping ti freeze active, the situation with the strange black smoke greatly bothered his mind.
Fortunately, he hadn’t touched anything in the room, so there was no need for him to re-arrange or anything of the sort.
After locking the door, he walked over to the short ginger-haired man before stuffing the key in his pocket just as he t it.
"Finally..." He mumbled, heaving a low sigh of relief as he returned back to his seat.
He gaze briefly drifted to Harry, who was still frozen beside him, and his brows furrowed slightly.
’I’m really sorry about this.’ He thought, staring into the frozen eyes of the boy.
To be honest, he felt a little bad about what he just did. After all, he was supposed to be here to support Harry in this crisis his mother was going through.
However, he had disregarded that, going into the ward despite it still being locked out to the both of them.
Apart from that, he couldn’t tell him anything about what he witnessed in there.
’I really am a bad friend.’ He thought, with a wry smile on his face.
"That’s already enough." He muttered, summoning a small green clock above his palm.
Swoosh!!
’Release.’ He mumbled inwardly, and the green energy encompassing the whole floor imdiately retracted back into the clock.
Everything on the floor imdiately returned back to normal, and the people who were previously frozen started moving again.
"—sure you’re okay?" A familiar voice suddenly sounded beside him, as Harry finally finished the words he was about to say before he froze ti.
He was already expected this, so he wasn’t too stunned with the question.
"Yeah, I’m more worried about you though." He said, lightly nodding his head at the brown haired boy.
"Hmm... okay." Harry muttered, a weird glint flickering across his eyes.
rely a few seconds ago, Leon was acting strange, and even seed to be a little out of breath.
It looked as if he was anxious about sothing, what it was, he didn’t know.
However, all of a sudden, his expression returned back to normal, making him feel like what he noticed earlier was just an illusion.
anwhile, Mr Lindt’s eyes suddenly narrowed deeply, and his hand slowly moved to his chest pocket.
’Hmm... that’s weird.’ He thought, feeling the key resting within his pocket.
Although one might underestimate him due to his short stature, he was actually a middle stage five Elentalist, and was incredibly perceptive of himself and his surroundings.
He could feel that the key in his pocket was slightly out of place, however, he couldn’t put a finger of what really happened.
Though Leon tried his best to position it just the way he had t it, there were still slight differences, which he easily picked up.
After thinking about it for a few seconds, he simply brushed the thought off his mind, feeling that he had just being worried for no reason.
"Now back to—"
Bang!
A loud bang suddenly echoed in the air, as a small door at the other end of the hallway slamd open with a loud noise.
"W-what... what the hell?!" The short adventurer shouted, feeling a chill run down his spine as he stared at the wide-open door.
’No... no... no...!’ He thought, his eyes slowly widening in horror.
The reason he felt fear wasn’t just because of the door, it was because of what was locked up behind that door!
Leon and Harry’s eyes also drifted to the door, shocked at the suddenly noise.
"Argh..." A beautiful woman with long brown hair slowly walked out of the corridor, gently rubbing her forehead wifi her palm.
"Where the hell... am I?" She muttered, letting out a low frown as the moved forward.
She was clothed in a thick blue gown, which was placed on her by the doctors and scientists working on her in the AMO.
The people around her quickly gave way for her to pass, avoiding her like she was infected with the deadliest plague on the planet.
Harry’s eyes slowly trembled in shock as he stared at the woman, a mix of expressions ranging from joy to sadness flashing across his eyes.
"M-mom... mom!!" He shouted, imdiately running towards her without a care in the world.
His father was more hesitant, simply staring at her with his lips trembling in shock.
anwhile, Leon stared at the scene playing out in front of him in disbelief.
’She’s awake?! How?!’ He thought, remaining glued to his seat.
Unlike Harry, he didn’t feel too excited upon seeing her.
Because firstly, he had just been in that room a few seconds ago, and she was still lying on the bed unconscious.
He could vividly rember the thick black lines he saw bulging all over her body, especially on her neck.
However, now as he looked at her, he didn’t see any trace of the strange lines, or even the corruption that had been afflicting her!
’H-how did... this happen?!’ He thought, his expression twisting into a confused frown.
’Could it be?!’ He thought, his eyes narrowing deeply.
There was another thing on his mind, one that greatly worried him...
That black smoke was able to move around despite ti freeze being active, so it clearly saw his face!
Since it was forrly inhabiting in her body, did that an she saw him too...?
’Did she... see ?’ Leon thought, his fingers trembling slightly.
