Despite standing so far from it, he could still sense that baleful aura emanating from the door, and it sent a slight chill down his spine.
"Harry!" Harry suddenly called his na, breaking him out of his thoughts.
"H-huh?" He muttered, finally turning his gaze back to the boy.
"You weren’t even listening..." Harry muttered, releasing a low sigh.
"N-no... it’s not like that. I was just... thinking about sothing." Leon muttered, swiftly trying to co up with a valid reason for his actions.
"There’s no need for that. I’m—"
"Hey boys." The ginger haired man said, waving his hands as he slowly approached them.
"Ohh, I forgot to introduce him. This is Mr Lindt, he’s also an adventurer." Harry’s father said, pointing his hands at the man standing beside him.
"Ohh..." Harry muttered, slowly nodding his head in understanding.
To be honest, he didn’t really care about whoever the man was, all he wanted was to know what was wrong with his mother.
"I know you have questions Harry... co on, let’s talk over there." The man said, directing them to a set of chairs at the other end of the hallway.
"So... can I see my mom now...?" Harry suddenly asked, just as they reached where they were going.
"About that... I’m really sorry, but you can’t." The man said, with a sad expression on his face.
Harry’s eyes slowly widened at his response, and he tightly clenched his fists, greatly confused about the whole situation.
"Please take a seat... there are a lot of things I need to discuss with you." Mr Lindt said, pointing at the chairs behind Harry.
The boy reluctantly sat down on the chair, while Leon took a seat beside him, however, his mind wasn’t in anything the man was saying.
Now that they had moved down the hall, that strange mana he had been sensing suddenly beca stronger, drawing his attention even more.
’Could this be due to the mana core corruption Harry told about?’ He thought, wondering if it was sohow related to Harry’s ill mother.
’What exactly is behind that door...?’ He thought. The more he kept sensing that evil mana, the more his curiosity grew, until he could barely hold it in again.
For a brief mont, the thought even ca to his mind to ask the ginger haired boy about what was in that room, however, he swiftly brushed it off.
He only accompanied Harry here, he couldn’t be too forward, asking about things that didn’t concern him in any way.
Not only would that be very disrespectful to his friend, but it could also negatively impact his view of him, greatly affecting their future relationship.
’Should I?’ Leon mumbled inwardly, lightly clenching his fists.
A strange glint flickered across his eyes as he slowly opened his hand, revealing a small green clock which slowly floated above his palm.
’This might just be being stupid... but I want to know what this strange feeling is, no, I have to.’ Leon thought, staring at the clock with a wry smile.
Since there was no one who could tell him wanted he know, he would just have to find out for himself!
"Leon, are you—"
Swoosh!
A powerful green energy suddenly bursted out of the clock, swiftly spreading not just across the hall, but all through the floor.
After a few seconds, the smoke from the ’explosion’ finally died down, clearing the air for Leon to see.
"Hah... I really did it." Leon muttered, letting out a huge sigh of relief.
He slowly turned to Harry, who was still sitting beside him.
The brown haired boy was completely still, with his face in an awkward position.
Leon rembered that he was about to say sothing just before he activated his skill, however, he had been too focused on channeling his energy to listen.
"I’m really sorry buddy..." Leon mumbled, slowly standing up from the chair. ’You’ll have to forgive for this one.’
Every single thing in the hallway was rendered motionless no matter what they were doing before.
It wasn’t just in the hallway though, everything on this entire floor had been completely frozen in ti.
At first he wanted to just freeze ti within the hallway they were in, however, after giving it so thought, he realised how stupid that would be.
He would surely be at a huge risk if an Adventurer happened to walk past the hallway, and notice how everyone was just strangely standing still.
There was no way for him to explain how he was the only one unaffected, and the situation could easily beco complicated, as they could confuse him for a high-ranked mana beast.
After taking all that into consideration, he finally decided that the best thing to do would be to freeze ti in not just the hallway, but the whole floor on which they stood on.
At least that way, even if soone was trying to climb unto this floor, they would also be frozen the mont they get within its range.
He didn’t think he would be able to do it though, but it seed like he had greatly underestimated his strength.
Though he could use his ti elent without needing to manifest the green clock, his range and control over ti was greatly boosted when he did so.
That was why he was able to freeze ti on such a large scale, as such a feat would have been impossible without the use of the clock.
"Wow... no matter how many tis I do this, I’m still thrilled by its power." Leon mumbled, with a smug smile on his lips.
Almost everyone on this floor were Elentalists, so even many tis more powerful than him, however, in the face of his power, they were all rendered helpless.
"Hehe... with this power, I really am invincible." He said, letting out a light chuckle in excitent.
’I can’t let myself get too distracted, I need to check what’s inside that room.’ Leon thought, swiftly snapping himself back to reality.
Thump!
Thump!
Thump!
He quickly walked towards the door, his heart beating rapidly as he gently placed his hand on the handle.
’I hope I’m not making a mistake...’ Leon thought, finally twisting the handle.
