"That must be the reason," Han Yuheng muttered to himself.

Just as he was convincing himself, the door to the waiting room was pushed open. A nurse looked at the docunts in her hand and said, "Han Liling's family mbers, please co with ."

Hearing the nurse's words, Han Yuheng ca out of his thoughts and followed the nurse to the doctor's office.

Ten minutes later, he finally arrived at the office. The nurse knocked on the door and said, "Doctor Yu, the patient's family is here."

A clear yet tired voice ca from the office, "Please co in."

Opening the door, the nurse looked at Han Yuheng and said, "Comrade, please."

When he entered the room, he saw a young man writing with his head down. Hearing footsteps, he raised his head and said, "Comrade, please have a seat."

After Han Yuheng took his seat on the other side of the desk, the nurse placed a folder on the table and said, "Doctor Yu, this is the patient's information."

Doctor Yu nodded to the nurse, opened the folder, and read the information for a while. Then, he looked at Han Yuheng and said, "Comrade, I am the attending physician of your daughter. You can call Doctor Yu."

"Doctor Yu, how is my daughter?" Han Yuheng asked, with a hint of worry in his voice.

Doctor Yu showed Han Liling's data to him and said, "The patient's condition is now stable and the operation was successful. Although her condition is not life-threatening, the injury to her left leg is too serious. Her leg is broken and so flesh was torn off."

Hearing his words, Han Yuheng felt his hands and feet go cold. He knew his daughter's injuries were serious, but he didn't expect them to be so serious. He could not imagine the pain his daughter must have endured as her flesh was torn away.

Although he noticed Han Yuheng's pale face, Doctor Yu continued to explain calmly, "It will take at least eight to fifteen months for her leg to recover. She also needs therapy to help her recovery. Although the injury on her leg will heal, it will leave scars and she may end up with a limp. While it will not affect her daily life, she will not be able to walk or stand for long."

"The patient also needs to be observed in the hospital for at least ten days," he added.

After Doctor Yu finished speaking, Han Yuheng looked at him and asked, "Doctor, how much does the therapy and dicine cost?"

Doctor Yu calculated it and said, "One course of therapy is 150 yuan, and the monthly dication fee is 180 yuan."

The mont he heard the price, Han Yuheng was stunned. Although he had savings, they were not enough to pay for therapy and dicines. What's more, he still needs to pay for the surgery. There was no way he could get that much money.

"Doctor Yu, what will happen if my daughter is not doing the therapy?" he asked.

After a mont of silence, Doctor Yu said, "If the patient undergoes the therapy, although she is limping, she can at least walk without crutches. But without therapy, she may need to use crutches for life as her left leg will lose its function."

Seeing that Han Yuheng was considering giving up treatnt, Doctor Yu sighed and tried to persuade him, "Comrade, you must think about this matter carefully. Your daughter's future depends on it."

Knowing that what the doctor said was true, Han Yuheng asked again, "Doctor, how long does my daughter need to be treated and how long does it take to take dicine?"

"She will need to do the therapy for at least a year and will need to take dication for three months."

After hearing this, Han Yuheng made up his mind to give up treatnt. Although it was expensive, he was able to pay for the dicine. As for the therapy, that's impossible. Even if he sold everything in the house, they wouldn't have enough money.

If his daughter marries into another family, she will no longer be a mber of the Han family. Therefore, the family's money should be left to his son since he will be the one who carries the family's line. So, even if his daughter needs crutches for the rest of her life, as long as she can still walk, she will be fine.

After considering the pros and cons, he looked at the doctor and said, "Doctor Yu, I understand. Thank you for saving my daughter."

Doctor Yu smiled when he thought that Han Yuheng decided to let Han Liling do the therapy and said, "This is what I should do. Comrade, if you need a recomndation for a therapist, you can co to at any ti."

Han Yuheng nodded with a stiff smile and said "I will. Doctor Yu, I won't disturb you anymore."

After leaving the doctor's office, the nurse took him to the ward. Before leaving, she handed him a docunt and said, "Comrade, this is the surgery and hospitalization fee. Please pay at the counter."

After taking the docunt, Han Yuheng smiled at the nurse and said, "Thank you, comrade."

As he stood alone in the corridor, he looked at the receipt and saw the total fee. He was shocked when he saw that the surgery fee alone cost him 500 yuan. The fee exceeded his expectations.

He took a deep breath to calm himself down and put the docunt in his pocket. Opening the door, he entered the ward to check on his daughter's condition. In addition to his daughter, there were three patients inside. When other patients' family mbers saw him, they all smiled and nodded to him.

Han Yuheng nodded to them and walked to the bed by the window. When he stood by the bed, he saw his daughter lying on the bed with a pale face. He looked at her left leg, which was thickly bandaged, and her left arm, which was pierced by a needle and connected to an IV bag.
