Mu Zigu waited for five minutes before he saw a military jeep coming in their direction. Looking at the license plate, a smile appeared on his face.

When the car stopped outside the gate, a guard walked over and said, "Comrade, please show your identification."

Xiao Yiguan lowered the window and handed over his ID card to the guard. The mont the guard saw the na written on the ID card, he quickly gave him a salute before returning the card.

Glancing at the back seat, his heart skipped a beat when he t with Father Xiao’s gaze. Not daring to delay the General’s matter, he quickly opened the gate.

After they drove into the family compound, Xiao Yiguan stopped the car near his brother-in-law and asked, "Brother-in-law, are you waiting for us?"

Mu Zigu nodded and replied, "Qingqing asked to wait for you, Father, and Mother."

Xiao Yiguan nodded and said, "Let’s go."

After he climbed into the car, they drove toward the residence area where he lived. When they ca out of the military jeep, the neighbors who were watching the children playing in the yard looked at them with curious gazes.

Seeing that the one coming was a pair of middle-aged couple and a young man, one of them said, "Are they Xiao Yiqing’s family?"

"That woman looks like her. She might be her mother," another one added.

"If they are Xiao Yiqing’s family, then wouldn’t that an that middle-aged man is General Xiao Feng?"

The mont they heard this, everyone was surprised but also excited. It was rare for their family mbers who work as soldiers like them to et with important figures, let alone them. So when they saw Father Xiao and Mother Xiao, they were in awe but didn’t dare to talk to them.

When Mother Xiao walked past the neighbors, she smiled and nodded at them as greetings. Since her daughter lived here, it’s better for her to have a good relationship with the neighbors. As a mother, she felt the need to greet the neighbors so they would treat her daughter kindly.

While she only treated it as a normal greeting, the neighbors were stunned and delighted. Even after they went into the building, the neighbors were still talking about how gentle and friendly Mother Xiao was.

Thanks to her greeting, the neighbors’ impression of Xiao Yiqing slowly changed for the better. With a mother as friendly as this, there was no way the daughter would be as arrogant as the rumors said.

Not knowing that her mother managed to change her image with just a smile and a nod, Xiao Yiqing turned off the stove and brought the last dish to the dining table.

As soon as she placed the bowl down, the door was opened and she saw her husband and family entering the living room. The mont she saw her parents, her eyes reddened and she rushed toward her mother.

When Mu Zigu saw his wife walking so fast, he reached out to her, fearing that she would trip. But before he could hold her arm, he saw his wife hugging his mother-in-law.

Xiao Yiguan saw his brother-in-law’s arms stretched out awkwardly and muffled his laughs. He never expected that he would be able to see his brother-in-law’s awkward mont.

Not noticing her husband’s worries and embarrassnt, Xiao Yiqing hugged her mother and said, "Mother, I miss you so much."

Mother Xiao patted her daughter’s back gently and said, "Mother also misses you."

She was glad that her daughter seed to have returned to her teenage years even after being married for almost a year. Only when a woman was pampered by her husband did she look younger and behave like a spoiled child.

Her daughter’s spoiled behavior shows that her son-in-law treated her very well and their relationship was good. Now that she saw with her own eyes how good her daughter’s life was, Mother Xiao finally felt relieved.

After a while, Father Xiao said, "Wife, it’s a good thing to see your daughter. Why are you crying like this?"

Mother Xiao let go of her daughter, wiped her tears, and said, "What do you know? I just miss my daughter, can’t I even cry now?"

Hearing this, Father Xiao could only say helplessly, "Okay, it’s my fault. Don’t be angry."

Mother Xiao ignored her husband and said, "Qingqing, how have you been?"

Xiao Yiqing smiled and replied, "Mother, I’m very well."

Xiao Yiguan placed the gifts on the low table in the living room and said, "Qingqing, we brought gifts for you and your husband. You can check it later."

After he said this, he went to the kitchen and saw that the dining table was full of dishes. He was hungry, and seeing those dishes made him salivate.

Reaching out, he picked a piece of fried spring roll while asking, "Qingqing, you made all of this? It’s delicious!"

Xiao Yiqing saw her brother already eating and knew that he was hungry. Holding her mother’s arm, she said, "Father, Mother, let’s eat first before the food turns cold."

Mother Xiao patted her daughter’s hand and replied, "Okay."

After everyone took their seats, Father Xiao asked, "Qingqing, since when did you learn to cook?"

Hearing this, Xiao Yiqing explained, "Father, I asked my friend to teach how to cook. Even if she was unable to teach personally, she sent a recipe book."

"All the recipes inside that book were her personal craft. She also pointed out important things that I need to pay attention to when cooking. After receiving that book, I tried cooking the dish. It took a lot of failures before I managed to get to this level."

When Father Xiao and Mother Xiao heard this, the two of them exchanged glances and nodded. Mother Xiao looked at the dishes on the table that were more exquisite compared to those sold in the state-owned restaurant and said, "Qingqing, you have a very good friend."
