The midwife smiled when she heard Li Chenze's question and said with relief, "Both mother and daughter are in good health. It's a miracle that nothing bad happened, as the umbilical cord was wrapped around the baby's neck."
When everyone heard this, they felt fear and finally understood why the delivery was so difficult.
Fearing that the baby might catch a cold, they brought the baby back to the bedroom. They put a brazier inside since the window was opened for ventilation. With the Kang bed ward up, both mother and daughter wouldn't catch a cold.
After napping for twenty minutes, Zhang Dongi woke up, and the midwife said, "Niece, you should drink so porridge first before breastfeeding your baby."
Zhang Dongi nodded and said, "Thank you for your help today, Aunty."
The midwife smiled and said, "This is what I should do."
Since she had finished her job, Li Chenze gave a red envelope to the midwife and sent her off. After leaving the Li family's house, the midwife checked the red envelope.

After the midwife left Li Chenze's house, the Li family gathered at Father Li's house. Due to the colder weather, they went to the bedroom where the Kang bed was ward.

"Father, since we are celebrating a newborn baby, how about we prepare so cakes or cookies? We can make them by ourselves, and the cost of the ingredients is not high," Lu Jueyu suggested.
Pan ijia nodded when she heard this and added, "Third sister-in-law, your idea is very good. Not only can we show our sincerity, the gift is also not expensive but doesn't lack attentiveness either."

Knowing that it was useless to glare at her shaless husband, Pan ijia could only roll her eyes and ignore him. She thought that no one noticed their interaction, in fact, everyone saw it but chose to pretend to be blind.
Father Li was satisfied when he saw his sons were living happily with their wives. While it was only the eldest who had children so far, he had no intention to rush his second and third sons. No matter how they lived their lives, that was their choice. He could only give them so advice and reminders.
After they finished discussing the gift and the matter of the newborn baby, Father Li let them leave. He was tired after feeling worried and anxious for so many hours. So, he took a nap while the rest of the family went to visit Zhang Dongi and the newborn baby.
While most families would care about the newborn more, the Li family let the baby sleep and paid more attention to Zhang Dongi.

When Mother Zhang heard their words, she was overjoyed. She knew that the Li family treated her daughter well, but she didn't know how her daughter's relationship was with her sisters-in-law. Now seeing how they cared about her daughter, Mother Zhang was relieved.
She ca to help take care of the baby and Zhang Dongi during her postpartum period, so when she heard Lu Jueyu and Pan ijia's offers, she didn't refuse. If she had to cook for the family too, it would be too much for her old bones.
"Nieces-in-law, thank you for both of your help," she said with a smile.
Even though she was a generation older than them, she still had to show so respect to them. Calling them nieces-in-law not only made them closer but also followed the custom.
Hearing her polite words, Lu Jueyu smiled and replied, "Aunt Zhang, this is what we should do as a family."
After so chatting, they took their leave when they noticed how tired Zhang Dongi was.
