It was the night before the Zhang family ca to propose. He was standing in the yard, drenched under the rain, asking her, "Yun'er, are you really going to marry him? Then, what about ?"

"Brother Yuheng, you know it's impossible between us. My family won't allow to be with you."

Bai Luyun saw herself saying these words coldly with dull eyes.

At this mont, she finally understood that sotis, her behaviors and decisions were not made by herself. She didn't have this mory at all, but what she saw right now had actually happened.

"Yun'er, if I get a job in the production team and am able to get a high salary, will your family allow us to be together?" he asked.

"As long as you can give a higher bride price, my parents will agree," she nodded.

Seeing the change in his eyes, Bai Luyun reached out and said, "No, don't do it."

Her words were futile, as he had already turned around and left without looking back. She followed him all the way until she saw him go to the hospital and sell his blood to get the money.

Selling blood was illegal, and he took a risk to do it. Not only was the risk of being infected by unclean needles high, if the other party refused to pay, he couldn't even report them. Fortunately, he got his money.

Because of this matter, he fell sick for several days. When he was able to leave the bed, he visited her parents and proposed to her, paying 50 yuan for the bride price.

It was 30 yuan more than what the Zhang family was paying, but her parents threw the money to the ground and humiliated him. Even after he had been chased out from her house, he ca back again and refused to leave.

In the end, her parents agreed to the marriage as long as he could take out another 50 yuan.

This ti, he didn't sell his blood, but went to the underground boxing ring. Serving as a sandbag for the wealthy people, he was injured severely just to get the money.

When she watched these scenes unfold, a young man suddenly appeared beside her.

He looked at her and said, "Child, this world is incomplete, and sotis, demons will sneak into a human's heart. They manipulate your mories and hearts."

"Over ti, you will lose yourself and doubt everything. Your heart demon had been born long before your husband's heart demon was born. The two of you are just souls who have lost their way."

The young man snapped his fingers and everything turned into nothing. The two of them stood in a place devoid of anything. Besides the light coming from the young man's back, obscuring his features, there was nothing else in this place.

He turned to look at her and said, "Now that you have learned the truth, what choice will you make?"

Bai Luyun raised her head to look at him and asked, "What choice do I have?"

The young man let out a chuckle, pointed his forefinger at her heart, and replied, "You have limitless choices, and each choice leads you to a different future. But there is only one choice you truly desire."

"Since you have already made up your mind, why bother to ask this?" he asked her back.

After he said this, he turned and walked toward the light. Before he disappeared, he added, "My daughter likes your descendant. And for that, I will grant your wish."

With another snap of his fingers, Bai Luyun felt sothing being gouged out from her heart. When she noticed a black mist drifting out from her chest, she saw a blurry face there.

It was her face, full of hatred, jealousy, anger, and pain. The black mist slowly dispersed as a scream was heard coming out from it, "No!! Bai Luyun, you can't kill ! I'm you, and you are !"

When the black mist disappeared, she lost consciousness due to the pain.

The next mont she opened her eyes, she saw her husband holding her hand while sobbing silently. Her fingers moved as she felt his warm tears fall on the back of her palm.

Noticing this, Han Yuheng raised his head and t her gaze. Seeing his wife finally wake up, he stood up and hugged her.

He buried his head on her shoulder and said, "Yun'er, you are finally awake. It has been three days—I thought you would leave and never wake up."

Hearing this, Bai Luyun was stunned. She felt that it was only a blink of an eye, yet three days had passed. Raising her arms, she hugged her husband and said hoarsely, "Ah Heng, I'm sorry for making you worry. I'm back."

Han Yuheng was too delighted to notice his wife's strange words. After a mont, he let her go and said, "I will go inform the doctor. Wife, wait for ."

"Okay," Bai Luyun nodded.

After he left, she looked at his back and reached toward her heart. She only rembered a fragnt of her dream and forgot most of it. But this ti, when she looked at her husband, she no longer felt torn as before.

The anger, disappointnt, pain, and hatred caused by his betrayal were no longer there. She knew that as humans, no one was perfect, and everyone made mistakes. After all he did for her, he deserved a second chance—so did she.

She couldn't change what happened in the past, but she would be able to change their present and future.

As for her daughter, Liling, she would respect her decision. If she didn't want to see her anymore, she wouldn't force it. She would do her best to give her a better life without interfering with her life.

Now that she had freed herself, she felt so relaxed and comfortable. It was as if she had returned to her younger self. She regained her courage and determination.
