Holding Lu Jueyu's arm, Pan ijia pulled her to a chair and said, "Your body is in a delicate state, so just sit down and don't tire yourself."

Lu Jueyu smiled at her words and said, "Second Sister-in-law, if your swelling ointnt runs out, just let know, and I will get you more."

The mont Pan ijia heard this, she glared at her and said shyly, "I don't know what you are talking about."

Knowing how thin-skinned her sister-in-law was, Lu Jueyu didn't tease her anymore and said, "Second Sister-in-law, if you can't handle it, you must tell your husband. You can't just let him do as he pleases, or you will suffer. n's appetite will grow bigger over ti."

Pan ijia chuckled and said, "Brother Yun treats very well. He won't bother if I'm tired."

Looking at her radiant face, Lu Jueyu nodded and said with relief, "That's good."

As the two of them chatted in the kitchen while waiting for the water to boil, Lin ifeng's brother arrived with his mother. When they saw the guests laughing and chatting in the yard, their expressions darkened.

Looking at the tea, candies, and roasted nuts, they felt a pang of heartache. No one knew how much money had been spent on those things.

As they walked toward the house, they had only one thought—to get the bride price and take back all the candies and snacks.

Those were supposed to be theirs. How dare Lin ifeng give them away so carelessly?

Sitting in the front yard, Li Chenmo and Li Lingyun knew those two people were coming to stir up trouble. Even without knowing who they were, their expressions made their intentions clear.

Seeing them enter the house, they followed after them.

As soon as Lin ifeng's brother stepped inside and saw the dishes on the table, he shouted angrily, "Lin ifeng, how dare you spend money like this?!"

Startled by his sudden shout, Lin ifeng's hand trembled, and her chopsticks fell to the ground. Noticing his wife's reaction, Jiang Ziyu turned his head to see a man glaring at her.

He stood up to block the man's glare and said, "Comrade, today is my joyous day. You are welco to enjoy the snacks and tea, but be respectful to my wife—or don't bla for being rude."

Hearing his words, Lin Sanlang sneered and said, "So, you must be Lin ifeng's husband. I heard you couldn't even afford a wedding banquet. What gives you the confidence to talk to like that?"

Hearing her brother belittle her husband, Lin ifeng stood up and said, "Third Brother, I was the one who didn't want the wedding banquet. Please don't bla Ziyu."

"Shut up! You have no right to speak here."

At her brother's harsh words, Lin ifeng subconsciously hid behind Jiang Ziyu, clutching his sleeve.

Feeling his wife's hand trembling, Jiang Ziyu's expression darkened. He looked at Lin Sanlang and said, "I don't want to hit anyone on my wedding day. You'd better leave now."

Lin Sanlang's anger flared at his words, but before he could respond, Mother Lin grabbed his wrist and whispered, "Sanlang, look at those things."

At her words, Lin Sanlang turned his head and saw baskets of goods stacked in the corner. The mont his eyes landed on them, his gaze lit up. Forget everything else—just the radio alone was valuable enough to be used as his own betrothal gift!

With that thought, he stepped forward, reaching out for the radio. But before he could touch it, Uncle Lin slamd his chopsticks down on the table and said angrily, "Lin Sanlang, who said you could touch that?!"

Lin Sanlang froze the mont his uncle's angry voice rang out. Although his father was older than his uncle, he had feared Uncle Lin since childhood.

Seeing his uncle's cold glare, he hesitated, then stepped back toward his mother. "Mother—" he muttered.

Mother Lin, feeling sorry for her son, turned to Uncle Lin with a frown and asked, "Eldest Brother, what do you an by this?"

With her hands on her hips, she continued, "ifeng is my daughter. These things were given as betrothal gifts by her husband. By rights, I, her mother, should be the one to accept them. Now that her brother likes the radio, what's wrong with giving it to him?"

At her words, Aunt Lin snorted and said, "Sister-in-law, what a good mother you are."

Noticing Aunt Lin's mocking tone, Mother Lin frowned and asked, "Sister-in-law, what do you an by that?"

Aunt Lin t her gaze coldly and said with a sneer, "If I hadn't seen you give birth to ifeng with my own eyes, I would have thought she wasn't your biological daughter. What kind of mother treats her child like a slave and a tool to make money?"

The mont she heard her sister-in-law's words, Mother Lin imdiately retorted, "As her mother, I was teaching her how to take care of a household. What's wrong with that?"

Too lazy to argue, Aunt Lin continued, "When ifeng reached marriageable age, I introduced so many good n to you, but you refused them all, saying she was still young. You kept delaying her marriage because you didn't want to lose your household servant."

"Now that she is older, all those good n are already fathers. To scrape together a bride price for your third son, you planned to sell her to an old widower with five children. If not for my husband intervening, ifeng would have been pushed straight into a fire pit by you."

Mother Lin's expression shifted as she tried to co up with an excuse. "That was because—"

But before she could finish her words, Aunt Lin cut her off sharply, "Sister-in-law, on the day ifeng left your house, my husband gave you 20 yuan, and you agreed not to interfere with her marriage."

"Since that was the case, who gave you the right to co here now and demand her betrothal gifts?" she asked coldly.
