At first, Pan ijia was puzzled by his words. In her family, her father always kept a secret stash, even though he handed his salary to her mother.
Her father had once told her that as a man, it was important to have money when leaving the house—not just to build connections and maintain good relationships but also to uphold one's reputation in public.
Because of this, she had never asked her husband for money, even after they got married. Besides, they didn't have many expenses in the village, she wasn't soone who liked to spend money either.
Most of her earnings had previously gone toward buying food and ingredients. Now that her husband provided her with grains, vegetables, eggs, and at, there wasn't anything else she wanted.
When Li Lingyun noticed his wife staring at the can in a daze, he flicked her forehead lightly and asked, "Wife, what are you thinking about?"
Snapping out of her thoughts, Pan ijia replied, "I was thinking about how much you would need each month."
"I don't go out to socialize much, so I don't need a lot. Just give ten yuan. If I use it up, I will ask you for more," Li Lingyun said after a mont of thought.
Since her husband had said so, Pan ijia nodded and opened the can. The mont she saw the money and coupons stored inside, she was stunned and rubbed her eyes several tis, thinking she was hallucinating.
Watching his wife's adorable reaction, Li Lingyun felt proud and happy. All these years, he had worked hard to earn money to provide himself a better life.
Now, he had a new motivation—to work hard for his wife and their future children. He wanted to give the woman who showed him the warmth of love the best of everything.
Unaware of her husband's thoughts, Pan ijia took out the money and coupons from the can and asked, "Husband, how much money do you actually have?"
"Well, this is all the cash I have at the mont. The rest of my money has been used to open several stores and animal husbandry businesses. Oh, and I almost forgot—we also have so gold buried in the mountains," Li Lingyun replied casually.
Hearing this, Pan ijia stared at her husband in disbelief as she said, "Husband, I didn't know you had so much money."
Noticing her strange tone, Li Lingyun frowned and asked her back, "Is it a problem that I have money?"
Rubbing her nose, Pan ijia replied, "Well, I thought our situation was similar. I never expected you to be this rich."
The mont he heard this, Li Lingyun understood his wife's underlying aning instantly. Reaching out to hold her hand, he said, "Wife, no matter how much money I have, it's all for you and our future children. So, don't overthink it."
"But I—"
Before she could continue, Li Lingyun interrupted her, "Wife, you accepted when I had nothing. Surely, you can accept now that I have more things. I don't care about wealth or power—all I care about is sincerity and love. This money is to make our lives better and more comfortable, it is just a tool."
Pan ijia looked at her husband for a mont before nodding and replied, "Husband, I understand."
After a mont's hesitation, she added, "By the way, Husband, I entrusted my money to the Third Sister-in-law. Should we take it back?"
"How much did you entrust to her?" he asked.
"100,000 yuan."
When he heard this, Li Lingyun thought for a mont and suggested, "Wife, if you trust , how about we use your money to invest in a seafood business?"
"Husband, what kind of seafood business?" she asked curiously.
Looking at her curious gaze, Li Lingyun explained, "Wife, my friend in Yunnan wants to start a trading business focusing on seafood. He is hardworking and trustworthy, with strong connections, but he lacks the capital."
"If we invest, we will get 70% of the shares while he keeps 30% since he will provide the manpower and connections. He needs about 300,000 yuan to start the business."
When Pan ijia heard this, she was stunned for a mont before she exclaid, "300,000 yuan?! That is a lot of money!"
Noticing her disbelief and worry, Li Lingyung reassured her, "Right now, I have around 80,000 yuan in cash. If we add your money, we can keep 30,000 yuan and invest the rest."
"I will ask my third brother if he would like to join. He could contribute the remaining 150,000 yuan. That way, we will each have a 35% share, and my friend will hold 30%."
After considering it for a mont, Pan ijia nodded and said, "Husband, since you trust your friend, I will trust you. Let's visit Third Brother tomorrow after we send my family to town."
"Alright," he agreed.
After their brief conversation, Pan ijia hid the money, and the two went to bed. Since they needed to wake up early the next day, they cuddled as they fell asleep.
The following morning, everyone woke before dawn. As the Pan family didn't have many belongings, only Zhang Ermu ca with his bullock cart to send them to the city. anwhile, Li Lingyun prepared a cart that could be attached to his bicycle.
Once the cart was secured, he loaded the Pan family's bags along with gifts they had bought from villagers or received from the Li and Lu families. With the cart behind the bicycle, it was much more comfortable for Pan ijia, who sat on the back seat.
When they departed, the sky was still dark, with dawn yet to break. To light the way, Li Lingyun lent a flashlight and lantern to Zhang Ermu. The flashlight helped him avoid ditches or boulders, while the lantern illuminated the cart.
Shortly after they left for the city, Li Chenmo woke up feeling refreshed. Checking the clock, he saw it was ten minutes to four in the morning. His movent stirred Lu Jueyu, who also opened her eyes.
