Chapter 975: Invasion (10)
Chapter 975
Han and Dan were still observing the entire clash from above when their eyes landed on two distinct, dominant figures: Thalos and Fenrir.
"Er? Is it just , or does that thing not look human? It resembles a moving stone statue," Dan comnted, pointing directly at Thalos.
Han’s brows were furrowed in deep thought.
"It is powerful. Imnsely so. Which breeds a vital question; how did the Supre Magus secure an entity like this on his side?"
Dan’s brows began to twitch with rising concern.
"The more I observe and reflect, the more dangerous the Supre Magus appears to be. I an, even his subordinates are pushing back heavily against the Behemoth Clan’s elite."
Han nodded, pointing toward a different sector of the fray.
"Look at it. The Crimson Lotus Clan is fighting on his side as well. Oh? Isn’t that Da and Anna over there?"
Dan followed the direction of his brother’s finger.
For a brief second, Da had blasted an enemy away, creating a montary opening for the duo to catch a glimpse of their siblings before the endless swarm of enemies converged over them again.
"Oh! Now I truly wonder why Anna decided to join Da on his suicide mission," Dan muttered, a look of annoyance crossing his features.
Han shrugged casually.
"That’s exactly why I’m here. I won’t let anything happen to her."
Dan then scanned the wider battlefield, only to spot another monster who was destroying the opposition without restraint.
Rivock!
"Weak," the descendant muttered with a bored expression before driving his fist into the face of an unlucky attacker.
Twirling around while ducking, he avoided a sharp sword slash aid at his neck.
Planting his palm firmly on the ground for a second, he kicked backward just as more n rushed at him from the front.
Click—!
His fingers snapped against each other, and a brilliant yellow glow erupted where his palm had rested only a mont prior.
BOOOM—!
A violent explosion rippled forward, searing through the approaching ranks.
Landing in the center of more than fifty n, he frowned, a pair of Ki swords materializing in his hands.
Ki began to compress intensely around the soles of his feet, vibrating with raw power.
BANG—!
He blurred forward, his Ki swords flashing in a silver blur as he moved among the enemies.
He was cutting them down with brutal, savage swings that left no room for error.
Crouching low, he dodged a heavy axe that had been streaking toward his throat.
Before he could fully reposition, a massive club descended toward his skull.
He drove his body to the side just in ti as the club smashed into the earth with thunderous force, shattering the stone where he had been standing.
"Eh?"
Leaping upright, he rocketed forward with full velocity.
His sword drove into the attacker’s eye and through the skull with clinical lethality.
His leg snapped forward in a brutal kick that sent the man’s fra flying backward, crashing into the midst of the others like a heavy projectile.
"Tsk. These are just petty cannon fodder. Where are the real guns who will make my blood pump?"
Swooosh—!
His hand snapped backward, parrying a strike that had been speeding toward his neck.
Deflecting the blow with ease, he spun around and hamred his palm onto the man’s head.
The ground cracked beneath the soldier’s legs as an agonizing pain surged through his very being.
Luckily, the man’s skull didn’t shatter due to the dense Ki coating protecting his body, but he was left completely disoriented, his vision swimming.
That split second was enough.
The soldier suddenly felt a rush of wind hitting him from above.
Opening his eyes, he could briefly see the clear sky before his body was sent flying through the air like a ragdoll.
Within monts, he felt a bone-jarring impact that caused his ribs to creak in protest.
He had just been used as a living weapon to scatter his own comrades like bowling pins.
Rivock grinned, holding his Ki swords tighter as he began swinging them in a frantic, rhythmic motion.
Within monts, more than a dozen Ki slashes manifested in the air around him, humming with lethal energy.
Stabbing one of the blades into the ground to anchor his stance, he released the energy.
The slashes fired outward toward the surrounding enemies.
No amount of Ki coating could save them from the new leader of the Ironfur Clan’s wrath.
The projectiles tore through their ranks, leaving deep gashes that struck their vitals.
The n collapsed onto the ground in wet thuds, while Rivock continued to grin like a total madman.
.....
In another area, Mada and Noelle could be seen.
Though in the sa vicinity, they weren’t fighting together as a single unit.
The three descendants—the new leaders of the major clans—didn’t usually coordinate their strikes.
They walked together and occupied the sa space, but they never fought as one unless they faced an overwhelmingly powerful adversary.
Sliding forward as if the earth beneath him were made of glass, Mada’s katana tore a jagged gouge through an enemy’s midsection.
He followed the strike with a precise, fluid spin to parry a blow aid directly at his head.
Without wasting a single heartbeat, he rushed forward, driving his fist into the attacker’s face.
The impact caused the man’s head to snap to the side as saliva burst from his mouth.
A silent whistle of displaced air erupted from behind.
Mada whirled around a tad too late; a spear was already jabbing toward his skull with rapid velocity.
Before he could even lift a hand to defend himself, a whip suddenly curled around the shaft, locking the weapon in place just an inch away from Mada’s eye.
Noelle spun around to glare at the attacker with her single, piercing eye.
Ki compressed intensely beneath the soles of her feet.
With a silent bang, she flash-stepped in front of the soldier.
Ki swirled aggressively around her palm while the attacker struggled to wrench his weapon free from the whip—which wasn’t even being held by the girl at that mont, yet it was exerting an imnse, autonomous force.
Bashing her hand into the man’s midsection, his abdon caved in from the slam.
She had funneled a significant amount of Ki into the strike.
Blood spritzed from the man’s mouth, and his body was sent hurtling away into the distance.
Turning to look at Mada, she held out her hand, and the whip blitzed back into her grasp.
"You need to be more careful," she noted coolly.
Mada smiled before his eyes shifted toward her flank.
With minimal movent, he blurred forward, deflecting a sword strike from a hidden enemy with a loud, tallic bang.
Without hesitation, he parried the blow away before snapping his hand forward in a lethal counter.
His sword erged from the other side of the man’s neck.
"Sa to you," Mada uttered as the body slid to the ground with a heavy, wet thud.
