Chapter 809: 3 V 1: A Family lodrama

Chapter 809

anwhile, while the siblings were at each other’s throats, their father stood facing three opponents.

Gunther Stormvale. Mada Stormvale. And an elite instructor of the academy—Seraphine.

"So... how do we begin?" Rowen asked with a faint smirk and a slight tilt of his head, staring at the trio who had their weapons drawn and ready.

With a steady exhale, Gunther stepped forward.

His hands gripped the hilts of his dual swords strapped across his back as he kept his gaze locked deeply onto Rowen.

Sera stood beside him, her fingers tightening around her blade with visible intensity.

"Mada..." Gunther began without turning around. "Support where you can. I won’t tell you not to fight because I know how stubborn you are—and we both know how powerful he is.

Which is exactly why I need to say this."

Mada held his breath, ready to hear what his brother was about to say.

"I need your help today. We can’t defeat him with just our strength, so... support us however you see fit—without getting in our way."

Mada froze, shock rippling through him as he stared at Gunther’s back.

His grip on his sword loosened slightly, and his eyes grew moist.

’Gu-Gunther needs ? He—He needs ? He acknowledged my strength?’

"Oh, for goodness’ sake. Enough with the family lodrama. Look—the others are already enjoying themselves." Rowen groaned impatiently, gesturing toward the other battles raging across the arena.

Gunther didn’t respond to the taunt.

He tightened his hold on his swords, inhaling and exhaling slowly to steady himself.

"You ready?"

Sera shifted fully into a combat stance, Ki flowing down to her feet in preparation for rapid movent.

"Always."

Gunther shifted his weight onto his legs as Ki surged through them—internally and outwardly.

"GO!"

Gunther shot forward with lightning speed.

Sera followed closely behind.

All eyes locked onto Rowen, searching desperately for even the smallest opening.

But the leader of the Iron Fur Clan didn’t seem to register them as threats.

He remained standing there with his arms folded across his chest, watching them approach with a calm, assessing gaze.

Within a second, they closed the gap and appeared before him.

Gunther drew his swords.

In one fluid motion, Ki wrapped around the blades, causing them to glow faintly as he swung upward from below, unleashing a crescent slash toward Rowen.

From the side, Sera lunged with all her strength, aiming to corner him right at the start.

"Hm."

With an effortless tilt of his head, Rowen avoided Gunther’s slash, allowing it to tear a deep trench into the earth behind him.

As for Sera’s thrust, he rely shifted his body slightly to the side, letting the blade pass harmlessly by.

Recovering almost instantly, Gunther’s gaze hardened as he brought one sword crashing down toward Rowen’s shoulders.

Finally uncrossing his arms, Rowen raised a hand and smashed it into the descending blade.

The impact nearly twisted Gunther’s entire body sideways.

Before he could stabilize himself—

Rowen’s fist slamd into his abdon with crushing force.

For a split second, Gunther gagged, the air knocked from his lungs.

His body was sent staggering backward in sharp pain.

Clang—! Clang—! Clang—!

Sera circled Rowen, her sword lashing out repeatedly in rapid succession, attempting to draw blood.

Yet with the effortless poise of a seasoned brute, Rowen avoided every strike.

At tis, he casually coated his hand in Ki and smacked the blade aside as though brushing away an inconvenience.

Gunther regained his footing and darted forward once more, joining Sera in the assault.

A yellow tide of energy flowed across his swords as he swung upward at full speed, forcing Rowen to twist his entire fra to evade the attack.

Kicking off the ground, Sera launched herself into the air, her sword raised high above her head.

She brought it down in a powerful arc aid directly at Rowen’s skull—

And for the first ti,

The man frowned deeply.

He was about to counter when....

"Gunther needs ! AHHHHH!"

A determined roar from Mada interrupted him, causing the man to glance sideways—only to see the direct descendant already upon him, thrusting his sword toward Rowen’s neck.

Now, with an attack coming from above and another from below, he was montarily boxed in.

"Nice."

With a powerful leap, Rowen propelled himself backward, evading both strikes by several tres as Sera landed, her sword cleaving through empty air.

At the sa instant, Mada’s blade was racing toward Sera’s face at full speed.

But with a brutal twist of his wrists and torso, he redirected the strike so it cut through nothing but space, sparing the instructor.

From where he landed, Rowen raised one hand—palm open and aid at the trio—

Then...

Booom—!

A sphere of Ki shot toward them at breakneck velocity.

Too fast to evade.

But they didn’t need to.

Gunther appeared in front of them in a flash.

With a sweeping, clockwise motion of his swords, a crushing yellow wave burst outward at full force, colliding with the incoming attack and knocking it off course.

Without hesitation, Gunther hurled one of his swords with every ounce of strength he could muster, sending it streaking toward Rowen like a blazing cot.

Coating his hand in Ki, Rowen swatted the projectile aside—

Only to find Gunther already standing before him.

Gunther’s hands gripped the guard of his remaining sword tightly.

Visible Ki coiled around the blade as he thrust forward with his entire might.

Rowen prepared to dodge—

When Sera blitzed in from the flank.

Just before reaching him, she vaulted upward, her sword raised high overhead.

"This again?"

With a scoff, Rowen stepped back swiftly, evading Gunther’s thrust, which struck empty air with a thunderous bang.

Simultaneously, he avoided Sera’s descending strike as she slamd into the ground where he had been monts earlier.

But then,

A smile.

Sera’s lips curved upward.

A deafening boom followed as a shockwave erupted from her blade, surging forward and slamming into Rowen with the force of a battering ram.

He was sent sliding backward, surprise and irritation flickering across his face.

And behind him—

Mada waited.

His sword was raised high, Ki surging through it with every passing second, building power—ready to deliver a decisive strike.
