Chapter 766: Massacre

Chapter 766

"Ho-How do you have so much energy left?!" Gunlag couldn’t help but shout in panic upon seeing the thousand wind swords floating in the air.

Fenrir, too, was taken aback by the overwhelming display of dominance.

’Grey Dawn. Have I ever heard of a mage this strong before? He looks... young, so he must be from the newer generations. Too bad it’s been decades since I last went to Arondale.’

The other fifty warriors, upon seeing the thousand wind swords, imdiately fell into panic.

They began taking cautious steps backward until—

"Don’t move." Grey ordered calmly.

And for goodness’ sake, he wasn’t even looking at them.

His back was completely turned as he stared ahead, as though the n behind him were insignificant.

The mont the order was given, crackling sounds filled the air behind the humans, causing them to fearfully turn around.

What they saw made their blood run cold.

Fifty lightning spears hovered in the air, all pointed directly at them, vibrating with power and ready to tear through flesh the mont anyone tried sothing foolish.

"He-Hey, Grey. What are you doing? This will cause an uproar if you do kill them?" Ash finally found the courage to speak as he stared at the Supre Magus’ back.

"Ex-Exactly. What will we say happened to over three dozen humans?" Lance added with a loud gulp.

"Think about the consequences of what you want to do before you do it. This will cause problems later on if it’s found out." Brook added.

"..."

A few seconds of tense silence followed as everyone watched Grey’s unmoving back.

For those being held hostage by the elental weapons, those seconds stretched like minutes, even hours, as beads of sweat trickled down their temples.

"You are right. This will cause a problem later on for Grey." Grey heaved a sigh as he flicked his wrist, causing all the elental weapons to dissipate from view.

Everybody let out a collective sigh of relief until—

"... But for the Supre Magus, it won’t."

BANG, BANG—!

Two consecutive bangs split the air as Grey sharply turned on his heels.

In the next instant, he vanished from sight.

A heartbeat later, screams of agony erupted as limbs were sent flying through the air.

Blood splattered across the battlefield like fountains erupting all at once.

Streaks of lightning flashed violently among the n, jumping from one body to another and tearing through them as though they were nothing more than fragile paper.

Within a minute, Grey skidded to a sharp halt.

Behind him lay decimated bodies, twisted and broken like slaughtered animals, pools of blood spreading beneath them.

Everybody gasped at the horrifying scene.

Gunlag hiccupped in terror as his eyes locked onto Grey’s.

"Yo-you are a monster." Gunlag muttered in horror while retreating one fearful step at a ti.

"A monster?" Grey repeated with a raised brow, his lips curling into a knowing smirk.

"Maybe I really am one. After all, this world does need a monster to clean up the ss left by an even greater monster."

He blurred forward, appearing directly in front of Gunlag like a demon stepping out of a nightmare.

"... And this monster will do everything possible to protect those he holds dear, or his allies. Your riot earlier nearly put my allies’ lives at risk, and I wasn’t about to let that happen."

"Ahhh!" Gunlag roared as he slashed diagonally toward the Supre Magus.

With a simple flick of his wrist, Clara materialized in Grey’s grip as he blocked the strike with effortless ease.

Gunlag leaped back, creating distance, before swinging his sword upward from below, sending a visible Ki slash rocketing toward the Supre Magus.

Casually sidestepping, Grey avoided the attack as if it were nothing.

Bang—!

Gunlag kicked off the ground, crossing the distance between them in an instant.

He thrust with all his might toward the mage’s abdon.

With surprising agility, Clara was already there, intercepting the strike.

The thrust was blocked with a loud ringing clang, and the mage was sent sliding backward several steps across the ground.

Gunlag took advantage of this and bolted forward, slashing from the side, but Grey rely tilted his head, narrowly avoiding the slash that whooshed past him.

A kick followed imdiately, cracking through the air as it collided with Gunlag’s armoured side.

The armour held for a brief mont, but the warrior was still sent staggering backward in imnse pain.

"That armor is annoying." Grey muttered as he blitzed forward.

He slashed from above, but Gunlag lifted his sword, intercepting the strike with a loud clang.

Using his superior strength, he pushed the mage away, causing Grey to slide backward for a mont across the ground.

Gunlag smirked.

"You are still an immature warrior. Unfortunately for you, I’m stronger."

Bang—!

He exploded toward the mage, who was stumbling backward for a mont until he suddenly slamd his foot into the ground, halting himself completely.

With a sharp huff of air, his eyes narrowed into thin slits.

Invisible steam began pouring out of his nose and mouth as he watched Gunlag charging forward like a raging bull.

"Breathing Technique: Second Formation."

The wind sharply wrapped itself around Grey’s sword as Gunlag had already leaped toward him like a feral beast of old.

The wind howled violently around the mage’s blade, and with practiced ease, Grey kicked off from the ground, propelling himself backward and creating distance between them.

Gunlag crashed into the ground monts later, kicking up a small mound of dust.

"Wind Wheel." Grey muttered as he swung his sword, sending a massive wheel made entirely of compressed wind rocketing toward Gunlag at blazing speed.

Lifting his head a fraction too late, the wheel slamd into his neck, tearing straight through as blood splashed violently into the air.

His head separated from his body before he even registered what had happened, blood spraying from his cleaved neck like a grotesque chocolate fountain of so kind.

Thud—!

His body swayed for a mont before collapsing to the ground with a heavy thud, his head landing beside it, leaving all the mbers of the Crimson Lotus Clan staring at Grey, who was panting hard.
