Chapter 743: The Gift

Chapter 743

"A gift. A gift. A gift." The phrase kept repeating inside Grey’s mind over and over again.

As both he and Borfan left the clan base, he began wondering what sort of present the leader of the Demonic Clan had for him that required them to leave the territory itself.

He could not ask his question as he quietly followed behind the man.

His robe fluttered within the air. Crimson hair wavering slightly as he stared ahead without any shift in expression.

’He should just hurry. I have quite a lot to do before two months pass. Ti is of the essence. I need to learn the second stage of Ki, modify this pendant of mine, practice my skills, and plot ahead.’

His thoughts paused for a mont as a deep frown crossed his face.

’Hold on. Why am I unable to sense this man’s aura? Even Blake, who is a Celestial, radiated an energy I could detect. Why can I not do the sa with Borfan? Is this a good thing or sothing dangerous?’

"We are here." Borfan announced, snapping Grey out of his thoughts.

Grey finally lifted his head to see that they stood before a forest filled with towering trees.

Looking behind him, small mounds of stone jutted out from the ground in scattered clusters.

Back in front of him, the forest stretched endlessly. It sprawled outward and covered the area for as far as his eyes could reach.

Yet there was sothing more.

Being in tune with the wind affinity, Grey was extrely sensitive.

His ears picked up faint chatter deep within the forest.

Though he could not see who was speaking.

"Co on. Let us go in." Borfan said as he walked toward the forest calmly.

’Is-Is this a trap or sothing?’

Still choosing to remain composed, Grey followed behind him.

His steps were deliberate and purposeful.

Eyes darted all around the area as he tried to ntally mark the route they were passing through.

Soon enough, they stood before a wide clearing.

It was large enough for two trains to pass through side by side.

In the middle of the open space, tents were pitched in formation.

Dozens upon dozens of canvas shelters filled the clearing, with hundreds of n littering the place.

Many were chatting while others played gas with each other.

Crunch—!

Grey’s foot stepped on a dry branch, causing it to snap beneath his weight.

The sound snapped the n out of their chatter as they lifted their heads to see the intruders who had arrived.

’Hold on...’

Grey frowned as he stared closer at the attire the n wore. Seeing this, his eyes lit up with confusion.

’Wait. These are mbers of the Umbrafell faction. Hold on. Is this one of the camps Da was talking about? So-So Borfan knew about these bases for a while now?’

Borfan, on the other hand, simply had his hands clasped behind his back as a warm, friendly smile rested on his face.

Seeing the intruders, all the n quickly geared up in an instant.

Weapons flashed through the air as they took battle ready stances.

Grey’s feet subtly shifted against the ground.

A small, almost imperceptible pulse of mana moved through the earth.

The ground beneath the n lit up with a dull glow, one by one.

Of course, they did not notice anything at all.

The mana continued snaking through the soil as the Supre Magus made a ntal count.

’One hundred and fifty... one hundred and eighty...’

’Two hundred and fifty n. Damn it.’

"Who are you both? And what business do you have here? What do you want?" one of the n snapped angrily.

Tak. Tak.

Borfan took two steps forward. His bulky shoulders swayed from left to right for a mont before he stopped moving.

"You are all on the land of the Noxarian faction. With where you are hiding and your numbers, I presu you all want to attack here, though not like your amount could do anything aningful."

He withheld himself from laughing as he finally unclasped his hands from behind him and then released a long breath.

"Also. News reaching

is that one of your camps kidnapped my daughter and did unimaginable things to her. Unfortunately, I cannot do anything to them because the Supre Magus here..." the man said as he pointed toward Grey beside him.

"... already wiped that camp out single handedly."

’So what now? He wants

to do the sa again?’

"And I am here to reward his efforts. But for that, I need you all gone from this land. It is not yours."

"And we said, who the hell are you to give us that ord..."

"Borfan Grimvale." A dark yellow glow flashed across the man’s golden eyes as he snarled at the n standing before him.

He lifted his hand into the air.

A yellow light began materializing around it, shining with terrifying intensity.

It was as bright as a miniature sun while he held it out in front of him.

"That is the na of your killer."

Whoosh—!

Borfan lightly flicked his wrist, sending the shining yellow glow forward at imnse velocity.

It raced through the air at breakneck speed, so fast that the n were unable to keep track of it for even a mont and then,

BANG.

A deafening sound rang out with overwhelming force, so loud that Grey was tempted to cover his ears.

But he did not move an inch, unwilling to miss what Borfan had just done.

The glow was so massive that it blocked his vision from seeing what happened to the n.

Then slowly, the ki blast began condensing at incredible speed until, within a second, it looked more like a tiny pebble floating in the air.

"Huh?" Grey blinked several tis.

His heart raced violently at the sight before him. Or rather, at the lack of sight.

The two hundred n he had counted, their tents, their weapons, everything was gone.

Erased from existence as if they had never been there to begin with.

Snap.

Borfan clicked his fingers together and the small floating pebble dropped to the ground and then,

BOOOOM—!

A violent shockwave blasted outward in all directions.

Every tree in the area was uprooted. Thick trunks were torn free from the soil and sent flying across the air.

Grey barely managed to keep his balance as he stared at the destruction unfolding before him.

The trees scattered like leaves in a storm, causing the entire region to beco far more open as the clearing expanded violently.

Thud. Thud.

The trees crashed into the earth with heavy impacts, resembling fallen bodies littering the field.

Looking further ahead, the place where the energy struck the ground had turned into a massive crater that stretched several ters wide and plunged deep into the earth.

Grey was utterly stunned by the sight.

His mouth nearly fell open, but his desire to maintain composure forced him to keep his expression restrained while his eyes burned with shock.

Tak. Tak. Tak.

The sound of footsteps pulled him out of his daze as he watched Borfan walking away calmly.

"This is my gift to you. The land is yours. Do whatever you want with it. Goodbye for now. Until we et again." Borfan spoke over his shoulder as he continued walking and then,

Like a ghost, he vanished from view, leaving Grey standing amid the ruins with his heart pounding wildly.

"What the hell just happened?"
