Chapter 723: Been Wasting Ti

Chapter 723

BANG, BANG, BANG!

The cacophony of attacks scread through the air with an ear-piercing screech, echoing violently across the mountain.

Literal sparks painted the air in different shades of color.

Blue, yellow, and sotis orange blended together into a mythical storm of light that flashed with every violent impact.

The ground trembled and quaked with each clash as three figures danced across the mountaintop, moving precisely, quickly, and dangerously.

Two against one.

Each strike, each slash, each thrust was aid at decapitating their opponent, yet everything they did always ended in naught.

It was as if their opponent possessed the ability to peer into the future, predicting their movents before they even committed to them.

Every attack ended up blocked, deflected, or narrowly dodged.

Their speed was on equal grounds with his, yet his grin refused to shake or tremble even under such pressure.

His own blocks, parries, and evasive maneuvers were precise like those of a seasoned veteran of countless wars.

Each clash and clang sent sparks bursting into the air as drops of blood and sweat clung to their faces before splattering onto the shattered ground below.

They refused to remain in one place, dancing from one end of the battlefield to the other.

Every crack and crevice on the mountain floor deepened with terrifying intensity.

The mountain itself seed to groan with each violent exchange, as if begging them to stop, as if pleading for rcy.

But the combatants refused to relent.

"ARGHHHH! Just die!" Frowny bellowed as they continued their close-quarters combat, their blades and fists colliding without pause.

Though it had only been a few seconds, those monts felt like minutes.

They were moving far too fast for the normal world’s sense of ti to keep up.

Each strike and movent that would take ordinary warriors minutes to complete was executed flawlessly within seconds.

Their speed was so overwhelming that battling for re seconds felt like extended minutes within their perception.

Tilting his head slightly to the side, Grey narrowly avoided a lightning sword from the robed man, whose breathing had begun to grow ragged.

He was only a mage.

He had never been trained as a warrior, and the strain was finally biting into his stamina. It showed clearly now as his movents slowed, just a fraction.

Mana continued to dwindle with every reckless attack he unleashed.

Of course, this did not go unnoticed by Grey.

His grin widened further with each passing mont, stretching unnaturally across his face.

At this point, he looked almost like a madman, reveling in the chaos of battle.

A missed strike from the robed man singed Grey’s cheek, carving a thin slash across his skin as blood imdiately welled up.

He paid it no mind.

Leaping backward, he narrowly avoided a devastating punch from Frowny that split the air with a thunderous crack upon impact.

Twisting his foot sharply, Grey spun his entire body to the side in an instant.

His lightning sword dipped downward before he swung it upward, intercepting the robed man’s incoming blade.

The collision sent literal lightning sparks erupting into the air.

As usual, the ground shuddered violently beneath their feet.

What they did not know was this. Grey was not truly faster than them.

He was barely keeping up, especially with Frowny, whose speed was naturally overwhelming due to being a Stage 6 warrior.

However, Grey had survived countless battles. Battles that demanded constant alertness.

Battles that forced him to remain on edge every single mont.

Those experiences, combined with Yami’s brutal training that refined both his body and senses, allowed him to predict their movents almost instinctively.

His body had been broken down and reforged to the point where no movent was wasted.

Every strike, every block, every parry flowed seamlessly into the next like water in motion.

At that mont, he finally understood Thalos’ words.

’Fluid and unpredictable as water for attack.’

His realization ca a heartbeat too late.

Another punch from Frowny tore through the air and smashed directly into Grey’s face with devastating force.

His entire face was flung violently to the side.

Blood splattered outward as a deep hollow exploded into existence on the ground, rocks kicking up and spiraling through the air.

The sa punch that should have sent a normal human flying did not achieve the sa result on the warrior mage.

Ki flared fiercely across his feet and condensed toward his toes, which he dug deep into the ground, anchoring himself in place and further destroying the mountain beneath him.

’And as thick and unmovable as a mountain.’

A grin spread across his bloodied face as he wasted no ti swinging his sword upward, releasing a massive lightning slash that roared toward Frowny.

The warrior instantly leaped several ters backward, allowing the attack to strike the space he had occupied monts earlier.

His strange invisible barrier flared to life, absorbing the incoming strike as ripples spread across its surface.

A slight, almost imperceptible change passed across Grey’s expression, but it vanished the very next second as a plan solidified within his mind.

Throughout the entire exchange, he had been unable to land a clean hit on Frowny.

If the warrior sensed danger, he reacted instantly, activating that damned barrier with frightening speed.

A thunder-like boom suddenly rang out with imnse force, causing all three of them to glance upward at once.

High above, the two elental dragons had destroyed one another, erupting into a rain of sparks and pellets of fla that painted the clouds a dull shade of brown.

Recovering faster than the others, the robed man wasted no ti.

Lightning sizzled around his feet as he lunged forward, his speed sharply boosted.

His grip tightened around his lightning sword, teeth clenched hard as he materialized directly in front of the warrior mage.

His pearly teeth flashed as he thrust his blade forward like a spear, aiming straight for Grey’s exposed body.

"I just realised sothing."

Grey spoke calmly, a slight frown crossing his face.

Frowny was already moving.

He darted toward Grey’s position, his hand enveloped in a yellow Ki gauntlet as power gathered densely at his fist.

With a deafening bang, he appeared where the mage stood, swinging his punch forward with lethal intent, aiming to pulverize Grey’s body completely.

Space seed to warp and distort.

In the very next instant, Grey vanished from sight, leaving the robed man’s sword to strike only empty air with a dull thudding sound.

Frowny swiftly regained his footing mid-dash, twisting around as his eyes searched for Grey.

The mage had reappeared directly in front of the cave atop the mountain.

"I have been wasting ti with you both," Grey said evenly. "There is sothing I need to do."

Lifting his crackling lightning sword, he tilted his head slightly, staring at Frowny as the warrior recovered and lunged forward once more.

"Fusion magic: Lightace Cut."

He muttered the words while making a casual slashing motion through the air, his expression almost bored.

Instantly, a massive slash of deep blue, crackling lightning burst forth and rocketed toward Frowny, forcing the warrior to halt his charge.

He crossed his arms over his face and activated his Ki barrier.

The attack connected, slamming into him as ripples distorted the space around his body, confirming the barrier was active.

For a mont, it seed as though the defense would hold.

Grey only smirked.

The very next second, Frowny’s eyes widened in pure horror.

His mouth puffed outward as he choked, coughing up a mouthful of blood, stunning the robed man and forcing him to stagger back a step.

Crash!

It sounded like fragile glass shattering.

The lightning slash tore straight through the barrier surrounding Frowny and struck his body without granting him even a fraction of ti to react.

Right before the robed man’s eyes, the attack cleaved Frowny cleanly in two.

His split body collapsed onto the ground with a heavy thud.

No amount of Ki coating was enough to save him.

Blood drenched the mountain as the slash continued onward, carving through half the mountain itself before finally dissipating.

’Fifty seconds left.’
