Grey shuffled in his seat, leaning in closer.
"I'm listening."
Blake sighed, his eyes locking onto the warrior mage.
"Before I continue, I'm curious about one thing."
Grey raised an eyebrow.
"What?"
"Do you rember the second ti I visited you back in your world?"
Grey nodded.
"Yes. You gave
so skill books and told
I needed to grow stronger quickly because the otherworlders' threat would increase. You also said that you had been watching ."
Blake clicked his fingers with a faint smile.
"I love your mory. Like I said, I have been observing you ever since our first eting. The only ti I don't is when I'm too busy to focus.
I have seen all your struggles, all your battles, and that is why I praised you earlier. But witnessing your recent fight, the one that helped awaken your fifth affinity, it plunged
into confusion."
Grey cocked an eyebrow.
"Confusion? What confusion?"
Blake heaved a deep sigh as he adjusted his posture, his eyes fixated on the Supre Magus with an intensity that could pierce stone.
"How can you use that affinity so effortlessly? Spatial magic is extrely rare, even among special magic, and very few mages have ever awakened it.
All except one mage.
He belonged to the second generation of mages and, by luck, was a dual-affinity user who had awakened the spatial magic.
But back then, I didn't pay much attention to magic or the different types of affinities."
Blake paused, observing Grey's rapt attention, before continuing.
"But after that mage died, nobody else awakened the affinity. It was like it vanished with him.
For years, for several generations, there was nothing. That is why it is considered rare. But you… you not only awakened it, you also mastered advanced skills. How is that possible?"
Grey's brows knitted tightly as he stared at his hands for a few seconds, trying to articulate his thoughts.
"How can I explain this?" he whispered.
He inhaled deeply, lifting his head to et the old mage's gaze.
"I don't really know why or how I can use the magic so proficiently. All I know is this…"
He paused, carefully asuring his words before continuing.
"Back then, we were sent on a bonding mission with my friends. During that mission, we stumbled upon a dungeon in the world.
After defeating the boss, we discovered so treasures. One of them was this strange ring, which I accidentally placed on my finger. It got stuck, no matter what I did. It felt like it had fused with my flesh, so I left it there."
Blake listened intently, absorbing every word Grey said.
"Then, fast forward to the day…" Grey's voice cracked, his tone shaking montarily before he shook his head and pressed on.
"To the day my mother was killed. The assassin tried to escape by opening a portal or sothing similar.
When I attacked him with magic, slightly altering the runes, we unintentionally activated the portal.
Sothing struck the ring on my finger, which in turn affected my mana core. I paid no attention due to my anger, and that's how we ended up teleported to this world."
Grey paused again, letting the chain of events settle into his mind.
"When I arrived here, fast forward to when I began experinting with portals and traveling between places, my core would always vibrate, as if it were reacting to the portals each ti I moved.
It was strange… almost like the ring and my mana core were in so kind of connection with the portals.
That day when Z5 attacked and killed Vanessa, the rage within
boiled over. My mana skin burst forth, while every affinity I possessed rampaged wildly. Thinking back now, I noticed sothing important."
"Which is?" Blake raised an eyebrow, confusion flickering across his expression.
Grey slowly lifted a finger. A small circular mark was imprinted clearly on the skin.
"The ring got destroyed. Its fragnts flowed into my nostrils, and from that mont onward, it felt as if unfamiliar mories settled within .
Every skill I wish to use flows naturally into my thoughts. I could wield magic effortlessly, like it had always belonged to . So I believe that ring is the source of everything. That's what I feel, at least, when I reflect on all those events."
Silence filled the chamber as Blake released a soft sigh, leaning back into his throne-like chair while staring at Grey with intense focus.
"Too bad the ring was destroyed. I would have loved to examine such an artifact."
Grey rely shrugged.
"It is what it is."
"Alright. Back to the second thing I wanted to ask you."
"Shoot," Grey replied calmly.
Blake sighed once more, his gaze piercing deeply into the mage.
"Tell
this. Now that your mories have returned and you possess an affinity capable of traveling vast distances, do you plan on returning to your world? To your companions?"
A heavier silence perated the room. Grey did not respond imdiately. His thoughts churned for several seconds before he finally released a deep breath.
"Unfortunately, I can't go back right now. It isn't ti for
to leave yet. There are matters I must settle first.
Like you said, I don't believe I'm strong enough yet, even with my fifth affinity. I will return in a few months, once I'm confident in my strength."
Grey paused, noticing a faint smile form on Blake's face.
The Supre Magus rose to his feet, and the old mage followed suit as the white chair behind him vanished without a trace.
"And trust ," Grey continued firmly, "when I return, that entire world will tremble. I will hunt down those cursed otherworlders and ensure every single one of them is wiped out. That is my promise."
Blake's smile widened further at the declaration.
"I love that answer, especially your decision not to return yet. Which is why I want you to know this, Grey Dawn. You have my full support. I will go ahead of you and prepare everything for your eventual return."
As he finished speaking, a brilliant light began to consu Blake, his smile stretching wider than before.
"Good luck, Supre Magus, with your takeover."
With those final words, the old mage vanished, leaving the Supre Magus standing alone within the silent chamber.
