Chapter 669: An Invasion!
Chapter 669
BOOM, BOOM, BOOOM!
TREMBLE!
BANG, BANG, BANG!
The house shook violently, the very walls quivering with every explosive impact.
Dust rained down from the ceiling like tiny snowflakes, coating the floor. Cutlery, cooking utensils, boxes, and miscellaneous items clattered to the ground with deafening thuds and tallic clangs.
The humans lay flat in the center of the living room, in front of the sofas, their bodies trembling in fear. All except Grey.
’Damn it, damn it! This is worse than I thought. This is way too much,’ he panicked inwardly, recalling the danger he had sensed when using his lightning detection earlier.
"Wh...what is going on?" Millie cried out, her voice shaking as she felt the ground beneath her quivering violently.
Before anyone could respond, a deafening crash ca from above, prompting Grey to snap his head upward.
The ceiling had been shattered with a single devastating strike. Holes gaped open above them, and dozens of n began filtering down as if climbing out of a helicopter, moving with military precision.
One wide hole was blasted directly above, and about a dozen n were slowly descending when their eyes locked onto the group.
Grey’s eyes caught them instantly.
Unfortunately for the intruders, he was faster. He thrust his hand into the air, and fifty wind swords shrieked through the room with deadly precision, striking them in the throats.
Their eyes widened in shock as their bodies toppled over like lifeless insects, crashing to the floor with heavy thuds.
Millie stared in disbelief.
"Ho...how did you do that?" she whispered, her voice trembling.
"No ti for explanations," Grey muttered as he lowered himself to knee height, scanning the room for more threats.
None of the n were carrying weapons, which only added to his confusion.
’I sensed a large number of them outside, so this can’t be all. That fireball from earlier... I could feel the mana emanating from it.’
His eyes widened in sudden realization.
"Are they using magic? Are they mages? In this world filled with warriors, there are mages too? How is that even possible?"
"What is happening? Who are these people?" Vanessa asked nervously, her body trembling as Grey peeked over the sofas, scanning the room.
"I can hear voices over there, looks like they are hidi..."
Before the man could finish, Grey thrust his palm forward.
A violent gust of wind slamd the sofa in front of him, hurling it at impossible speed. It collided with one of the intruders, sending him crashing into a wall.
The remaining n turned sharply, their eyes landing on Grey crouched in front of the won.
More n were filtering in from the hole above, and Grey’s heart sank.
’If they are mages, and strong ones at that, the girls won’t survive. I need to get them sowhere safe.’
"Catch them!" shouted the n from the rear, descending from the ceiling while the ones at the front charged forward.
In total, around forty intruders ran toward the group, their movents coordinated and precise.
’No ti to hide. I will deal with whatever cos next after I secure the girls.’
"You all made a mistake by coming down here," Grey muttered coldly, his voice steady as he snapped his fingers.
Bright beams of light erupted around him, forming deadly lightning spears that shot outward in all directions, striking with unrelenting force.
The air sizzled with raw energy, and the intruders faltered as the storm of lightning t them head-on. Dust and smoke swirled violently, obscuring the room in a chaotic haze.
It happened so fast that the n were unable to summon any skills before they were impaled.
The difference in speed between their casting and the Supre Magus was as clear as night and day. The intruders all dropped dead instantly, without any chance of resistance or retaliation.
The girls’ mouths hung open in disbelief, eyes wide at the horrifying yet astonishing sight.
"Co on, let’s get you all out of h..." Grey’s words trailed off as another fireball streaked toward them from outside at incredible velocity.
In a blur, he spun on his heel, arms thrust outward, and yelled:
"Aerius ultra!"
BOOOM!
A trendous burst of wind erupted from him, colliding with the incoming fireball in a deafening explosion. The entire house shuddered violently under the impact.
"Move away!" Grey shouted, and the females scrambled back instinctively.
With the wind still whipping around him, he leaped to the side, letting the fireball crash into the central table. It exploded instantly, sending flas and splinters flying in all directions.
"What is this? What’s happening?" Clarice’s calm deanor began to crack, her voice trembling as she tried to process the impossible.
She was witnessing events that defied logic—Grey using abilities that seed almost magical, abilities comparable to the very attackers threatening them.
"I don’t know," Grey muttered, twisting his head to survey the room.
He could sense more intruders descending from every corner of the house.
The bedrooms, kitchen, dining area, even the bathrooms—no location was safe. They were being hemd in, surrounded from all angles, trapped in the living room with nowhere to run.
"What do we do now?" Clarice asked, anxiety creeping into her voice as she sensed the encroaching threat.
’Obviously, we need to escape. There’s no way I can handle this many enemies head-on,’ Grey thought, gritting his teeth as he eyed the door.
’I could try to draw a magic circle to teleport us sowhere safe. But where? I have no clue where to send them. That would require ti, and we don’t have any. They can’t fight them directly, but if they get close, these intruders can attack from a distance with magic. Damn it!’
"What do I do?" he whispered under his breath.
The n, however, were giving him no ti to think. They had already infiltrated the living room, surrounding them from every angle.
More intruders dropped down from above, encroaching rapidly.
"ATTACK!" they shouted in unison. Grey’s teeth ground together as lightning flared around his hands. He braced himself, watching the mass of n close in with relentless speed.
"Stay close. I will protect you all," he ordered, his eyes sharp and unwavering.
Soon, over a hundred n sward toward them from every corner, filling the room with a terrifying force.
