Chapter 605: Sothing Feels off!

Chapter 605

"Grey, what are you thinking? Why aren’t we joining in yet?" Thalos asked as he stood beside the Supre Magus, wind whipping across their faces from the force of the ongoing battle.

"You can go, I’m not holding you back. Sothing still feels off about this demon, and I intend to figure it out before I move an inch from here," Grey replied, his eyes never leaving the battlefield. Despite the fast-paced movents, he did not miss a single detail.

"What do you an by sothing feels off?" Thalos pressed again.

"Think about it," Grey said with a tired sigh. "When the demons first revealed themselves from that portal, soone tried to escape even after the lower echelon warned us not to move.

He was about five tres away, yet the demon killed him instantly. Then, a few minutes ago, it killed Instructor Kent so cleanly, as though it used a sword. But we all see it only has claws. Doesn’t that bother you? Doesn’t it seem off? As if the demon is hiding sothing."

"Now that you say it, sothing does feel quite off," Thalos muttered, stroking his chin while keeping his gaze fixed on the clash ahead.

He spoke just in ti. The other two descendants had joined the fray even though there was little hope they could do much. They stood beside Sera and Rivock while the demon growled at them furiously, its blood-red eyes burning with malice.

"Let’s go!" Rivock shouted, wasting no ti as he charged forward. His twin Ki swords trailed slightly behind him, slicing the air.

Sera swirled Ki around her feet, her sword vibrating and glowing a fierce yellow. In the next second, she dashed forward, with Noelle and Mada right behind her. The air trembled under the force of their combined movents.

"I have no business with you weaklings!" Gil thundered as it blurred forward, reaching Rivock in a flash.

Rivock’s eyes widened for a split second as razor-sharp claws streaked through the air toward him. But he quickly regained his composure, gripping his sword tightly. With the little Ki he had left, he forced his body down, ducking as the claws sliced through the space his head had just been.

Sera used that sa mont, kicking off the ground and pushing off Rivock’s back. She leaped toward the demon, sword raised high above her head.

With a fierce shout, she brought it down. The demon had no choice but to cross its arms in front of itself in a desperate attempt to block. The impact struck with terrifying force, a loud boom echoing across the arena.

The ground cracked open beneath them, shards of stone flying upward as the air vibrated violently. Sera gritted her teeth, pouring more Ki into her sword. The blade glowed even brighter as she pressed down harder, and a thin cut appeared across the demon’s arms, blood spraying out.

The demon roared in pure rage and swung its hooved foot toward her abdon, aiming to kick her away. But in a blur, Noelle was already there. Her whip snapped forward, coiling tightly around the demon’s leg to restrain it.

At the sa ti, Mada ca in from the left, his sword raised for a downward slash toward the demon’s face. But the demon’s bony wings twitched, and in an instant, it shot its head forward into the sword’s path, choosing to clash head-on rather than retreat.

The sword struck with a loud clang, as if hitting tal, but it had only struck bone, leaving not even a scratch.

That was when it beca clear — all four of them were stuck around the demon. Sera was still trying to force her sword deeper into its arms. Noelle’s whip was tightly coiled around its hooved foot. Mada was occupied with its wings, struggling to cut through them, and Rivock was desperately searching for an opening when...

GRRRRRRRRRRR!

Gil let out a beastly roar as it swung its wings apart and kicked off the ground. A massive gust of wind exploded from its body, blasting into the four humans with so much force that they were lifted off their feet and flung several tres away like ragdolls.

"Ack!" They groaned together as they crashed and rolled across the ground. Their bodies tore through the earth, creating deep fissures until they finally managed to dig their weapons into the ground, forcefully halting themselves.

"Kuk!" Sera coughed out specks of blood. She had been the closest to the blast, and the wind had hit her the hardest. Her shoulders trembled as she struggled to catch her breath.

’Co on! We need help. Even if it’s Leo, soone needs to get here. Where are the leaders? Why aren’t they here yet? Or is it... no. No, they can’t abandon us, right?’ she thought as her hands trembled slightly.

"Instructor Sera, what are you thinking?!" Noelle shouted, snapping her back to reality as they all slowly pushed themselves up from the ground.

"It’s... nothing. I’m just running low on fus. I don’t know how much longer I can last at this rate," Sera muttered, glancing down at her shaky hands before shifting her gaze back to the demon, which hovered in the air for a brief mont before landing again.

"Sa here. From my battle with that annoying peasant, I lost a lot of Ki and energy. I don’t know what he did to , but I feel weaker than I should," Mada added with a clenched jaw, casting a sharp glare in Grey’s direction.

’Huh?’ Grey narrowed his eyes the mont he noticed sothing off about the demon. ’Why isn’t it attacking? Why is it just standing there staring at them?’

"No point whining about how weak we feel. Complaining won’t take the demon down any faster, so let’s move!" Rivock shouted, taking the lead again. To conserve energy, one of his Ki swords dissipated into thin air, leaving only one in his grasp. Without waiting a second longer, he charged forward, fearless, with the others following behind him.

’No! The demon is preparing sothing. Crap, this might be bad,’ Grey thought as his fists clenched tightly, bolts of lightning crackling faintly around them.
