Chapter 578: Went Overboard!
Chapter 578
While Grey and Mada were capturing everyone’s attention and practically ripping the platform apart, Rivock and Thalos were locked in a heated clash, neither daring to look away for even a second.
Snap!
BOOOM!
An explosion suddenly rocked the air as Rivock activated his clan technique—Exploding Ki. This ti, the blast was so fierce that Thalos was lifted clean off his feet, blood spurting from his chest as he went hurtling backward.
He tumbled for several ters, his sword slipping from his grasp and clattering to the ground beside him. Blood dripped down his chest as he lay still, unmoving, his breathing faint.
Rivock landed with a soft thud, a devilish grin curling back onto his face. He began to stride toward his fallen opponent, his every step filled with arrogant confidence, but then suddenly halted mid-step as sothing caught his attention.
He tilted his head slightly, glancing behind him to where Mada and Grey were clashing intensely. His eyebrows shot up in confusion.
’Huh? Noelle’s nowhere to be seen, but her opponents are still on stage. Does that an she lost? Noelle... lost against a bunch of yellow bands? Even Mada is still in a heated clash with Grey. How on earth hasn’t he defeated him yet? What’s taking so long? Is he holding back because of ? No, that can’t be it.’
His brows furrowed even deeper, frustration flashing across his face.
’What’s going on today? Are the other descendants growing weaker or sothing?’
He muttered aloud, "Are they growing weaker? How haven’t they defeated their opponents yet?"
"You’re wrong. They aren’t growing weaker," a voice echoed behind him.
Rivock’s head snapped around instantly. Thalos, chest dripping with blood, had sohow pushed himself back to his feet.
"It’s just that you all ssed with the wrong people," the gargoyle said, his tone calm but cold. "Your opponents are the kind of people who don’t give up no matter what. You picked a fight with soone who can rally others toward his goals—soone who keeps growing stronger just to crush whoever stands in his way."
He pointed toward Grey’s direction and continued, "You ssed with Grey, and now he’s decided to grow stronger just to ss with you all back. He could’ve defeated your friend if he wanted, but he chose to toy with him instead—to show you the massive gap between you all."
Thalos’ lips curled slightly. "And should I tell you sothing else? I’ve been toying with you too, making you think you had the upper hand. I’ll keep doing that because Grey has sothing special planned for you, and I don’t intend to ruin it. So..." he raised his sword-hand, "...shall we keep on playing?"
The weapon lying a few ters away clattered and zipped back into his grip with a sharp tallic hum.
Rivock’s eyes narrowed. "How I stood here listening to all your speech is shocking even to . So I’ll give you the benefit of doubt and attack instead!"
He slamd his foot into the ground with such force that a crater exploded beneath him, and his figure blurred forward like a streak of light.
In the blink of an eye, he appeared before Thalos, his sword slicing toward the gargoyle’s neck with full, murderous force. A visible ripple split the air from the swing.
Thalos rely smiled. Calmly, he brought his sword up in front of his face—ready to et the strike head-on.
CLANG!
The swords struck true, sparks flying as tal t tal. Thalos skidded several steps backward, boots grinding against the cracked platform, but the smile on his face never faded.
Before he could steady himself, Rivock flash-stepped behind him and drove a solid kick into his back. The impact cracked like a whip through the air, sending Thalos tumbling forward violently.
Rivock didn’t wait. In another blur of motion, he appeared right in front of the airborne gargoyle and, without hesitation, slamd an uppercut straight into his chin—channeling every ounce of strength and Ki into the blow.
Bang!
The impact echoed like thunder. A spray of pink blood burst from Thalos’ mouth as his head snapped back, his body lifted off the ground and hurled high into the air by the overwhelming force.
Rivock still wasn’t done. Tossing the Ki sword in his hand aside, he let it dissipate into particles of light.
Then, crouching low, he gathered energy in his legs until the air beneath his feet rippled. In the next instant, he exploded upward like a rocket, the ground beneath him cracking from the sudden burst of power.
Now hovering above the rising gargoyle, Rivock clenched his fists tightly. Ki flared around both arms, visibly swirling and encasing them, the pressure so intense that his hands trembled with brimming energy.
Without hesitation, he clasped both fists together and brought them down toward Thalos with brutal precision.
The gargoyle’s instincts kicked in instantly. Almost as if on reflex, he crossed his arms in front of his body just in ti to brace for the impact.
BAM!
BANG!
BOOOM!
The collision was deafening. Rivock’s punch slamd into Thalos with mountain-crushing force, and the air rippled from the shockwave. Loud cracking noises filled the arena as Thalos was blasted out of the sky, crashing into the ground with terrifying speed.
The earth shattered beneath the impact, sending tremors across the entire platform. A thick veil of dust and debris shot upward, clouding the entire area.
"Damn! You kind of made
go overboard," Rivock muttered, frowning slightly as he landed softly on the broken terrain.
The crowd, startled by the massive explosion, turned their attention toward him. All they could see was Rivock standing tall in the middle of the chaos, his opponent seemingly gone.
’That should keep him down,’ he thought confidently, his eyes scanning the area. Turning his gaze, he noticed Grey and Mada facing each other—Grey’s lips moving as if giving a speech.
’Ti to take care of h...’
Swoooosh!
A sharp sound cut through the air. Rivock’s instincts scread. He spun around instantly, arms crossed defensively.
A blade tore through the dust cloud like lightning. Thalos’ sword—unheld ca flying at him with devastating speed and smashed into his crossed arms with bone-rattling force.
For the first ti since the fight began, Rivock bled. The impact hurled him backward violently, his body skidding across the cracked platform as crimson streaks trailed through the air.
"How is that possible?!" Sera scread, clutching her hair in disbelief as the dust slowly cleared.
Through the swirling haze, Thalos erged—blood dripping from his mouth, chest, and shoulders. His eyes gleaming with raw determination.
’Who are these students?’ Orion thought, his expression darkening with confusion and awe. ’How can they use techniques and power I’ve never even heard of?’
