Chapter 572: Not using my full power!
Chapter 572
Bang, Bang, Bang!
BOOOM!
Shockwave after shockwave was being produced as Thalos and Rivock went at each other relentlessly, their movents so fast that so of the spectators couldn’t even keep up with their eyes. Sparks kept flying across the arena, each one lighting up the dust-filled air as the ground trembled beneath their feet.
"ARGH!" Rivock roared in pure anger as he ca crashing down from the air with a powerful punch aid directly at the gargoyle. The sound of his descent alone tore through the air like thunder.
But with all his strength, Thalos barely managed to leap back just in ti before the punch slamd into the ground, creating an enormous crater on impact.
A thick cloud of dust imdiately rose into the air, covering the entire section of the platform, but bursting through it ca Thalos again, this ti with a powerful uppercut aid straight for Rivock’s abdon. However, the descendant spun around in a blur and brought his arms forward to block.
BAM!
The hit connected, yet Rivock only skidded back a few inches. He quickly retaliated, swinging his leg toward Thalos in a roundhouse kick, but the gargoyle had already anticipated the move and stepped aside in a split second, letting the attack slice through empty air.
Thalos dashed forward instantly, but Rivock, moving purely on instinct, spun around while whipping his leg outward, unleashing a massive Ki slash that tore through the air like a blade of light.
It struck Thalos squarely, sending him skidding several ters away, his heels carving deep trenches into the ground as sparks scattered from beneath his feet.
Before Thalos could even stabilize his footing, Rivock exploded forward from his position, propelled by Ki, his movent almost resembling a flash of light. He appeared right in front of the gargoyle and, without hesitation, drove his fist forward with crushing power.
BOOM!
The punch landed, a shockwave rippling outward. Yet Thalos didn’t go flying — instead, he grounded himself, his feet digging into the surface so deeply that the concrete cracked apart under the pressure. Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth, but his grin didn’t fade.
"You hit like a kid," Thalos mocked, his tone cold and taunting.
Rivock’s lips curved into a smirk. He slamd his palms together in a loud, booming clap.
BANG!
A huge shockwave blasted out, forcing Thalos to skid backward several ters, his heels grinding the surface and leaving long trails in the cracked arena.
"The condition of this segnt was that we all had to bring out at least half of our strength," Rivock said calmly, straightening his back. "But sorry to disappoint you — you only managed to make
use ten percent. That’s honestly surprising coming from a blue band though."
His words caused the entire crowd to gasp in disbelief.
"No way! Just ten percent? It felt like he was going all out from the beginning!"
"Sa here! There’s no way that was only ten percent!"
"But he’s one of the three direct descendants," another voice argued. "And the son of a clan leader. Should it really surprise you that much? His father’s a monster, and rumor has it Rivock inherited every bit of that ferocity."
"And don’t forget, Rivock’s a beast when it cos to their clan’s fighting techniques. I believe him. If this is only ten percent, we might not survive seeing twenty."
"Kek!"
Thalos’ deep chuckle cut through the noise, drawing everyone’s attention back to the platform. The gargoyle stood tall, now just one foot away from the edge, his golden eyes burning with renewed vigor.
"And you seriously think I’ve been going all out too?" Thalos asked, his voice echoing across the arena. "Sorry to burst your bubble, Rivock, but if I really decided to go all out..."
He paused, his eyes slowly lifting toward the viewing stand where the leaders sat frozen, "...even your dad—what am I saying?" He smirked darkly. "
"Even Orion Stormvale would struggle against ."
"Huh?!" The crowd exclaid in confusion and shock.
"Who’s that kid?" Selene asked with furrowed brows. "How dare he talk down on us?!"
"Keep shut, he talked down on us not you. But seriously though, who the hell is he to look down on us?!" Rowen roared in anger but surprisingly, Orion was as calm as usual.
"Hmm. What a bold declaration to say aloud." He muttered with an almost amused smile on his face.
"You know, one thing I hate is soone talking crap about my dad." Rivock said with a wide smile on his face. "But I will pardon you just this once because you gave
a good fight which nobody has given
in a long ti."
’I really want to use my gargoyle self against this arrogant brat. Let’s see if his mouth will still be running. But I can’t otherwise, Orion would recognise
instantly. I need to know if he is still trustworthy or not.
I need to know whether he is part of those who betrayed my master so I have to keep calm and participate in this damn tournant which Grey forced
into. Tch!’
"You said sothing, you haven’t been going all out, right?" Rivock asked then he grinned widely as he held out his hand and a bright yellow light began shining around it.
Thalos raised an eyebrow up as he imdiately stood on guard watching the descendant with keen eyes.
After a few seconds, the bright light dimd down and it’s place, a longsword made entirely of Ki was in Rivock’s grip and he swung it around causing it to produce a loud wooshing sound.
"So why don’t you go all out, let’s see what you got."
Thalos on hearing that, just chuckled loudly as he fitted his hand into his hair pulling out a tiny looking dagger.
Rubbing his thumb on it, it instantly elongated into a huge greatsword that looked like it will require the strength of two n to carry but Thalos simply held it calmly with a single hand.
"I won’t go all out yet but I will still use thirty percent of my strength. Try to keep up!" Thalos said and then like a lightning bolt, he zipped forward like a blur towards a slightly stunned Rivock who just ended up grinning instead.
"You bet!" He roared and then he dashed forward too.
BOOOM!
A huge shockwave suddenly erupted out as both warriors clashed swords causing an imnse gust of wind to spread out.
