Chapter 563: Battle Royale!
Chapter 563
"Wait, battle royale? What does that an?" The crowd could be heard asking in confusion.
Even Grey was confused as he leaned in alongside Thalos. The students who weren’t participating in the tournant but sat in the stands could all be seen occupying the front rows, allowing them to view the battles taking place clearly.
anwhile, the visitors filled the remaining rows, and soon enough, the confusion spread among them like wildfire.
"I wonder what is going on in the vice principal’s mind." Grey muttered with his brows furrowed.
"Whatever, not like we care." Thalos shrugged nonchalantly, stretching his arms lazily as if the entire situation bored him to death.
’I don’t know why, but I suddenly miss Yami right now. Only the heavens know when we’ll finally get to go ho.’ Grey thought with a small frown tugging at the corners of his lips.
"Ah yeah, that was a fulfilling break." Leo smiled as he saw that the students who were either injured or unconscious earlier were now up on their feet, vibrant and awake, staring at the vice principal in confusion.
"Leo, get all these over and done with already. Let’s tackle the eting we initially ca here for." Orion ordered calmly as he fixed his eyes on his subordinate.
"But I really wanted to keep them all in suspense." Leo pouted slightly in frustration but eventually clicked his tongue. "Fine."
"I’m bored." Rowen yawned loudly, his voice echoing across the stands like a rolling drum.
"Anyway, I’ll explain what I an." Leo said as he stood up to face the crowd with a wide grin spreading across his face. "So currently, I speak for everybody when I say that the previous fights were quite boring and tiring at the sa ti, right?"
He paused and scanned the entire coliseum. The mumbling from the crowd, followed by their hesitant nods, confird that they agreed.
"Which is why," he continued, his voice carrying authority as the mumbling died down, "I have co to a conclusion. It’s ti to push the bands below the red band to their limits. Hence, I have decided to pit the three direct descendants—Mada, Rivock, and Noelle against any six yellow and blue bands. The instructor should make his pick."
"Wait, what?!" Liam, who stood beside Ray, blurted out in horror, and it wasn’t only him. Every single person in the arena, even the spectators, had the sa shocked reaction.
’Hey wait, this is going too far now.’ Jared, who had long regained consciousness, thought as his body trembled in fear. ’I didn’t even face the main direct descendants, just another red band, and I still lost badly. If I get picked as one of the six, I’m dood.’
"And of course," Leo added with a devilish glint in his eyes, "if the six students are not even able to push these three to half their full strength, they will be kicked out of the academy with imdiate effect after the tournant. We don’t harbor weaklings here." He smiled faintly as he sat back down in his seat, his tone calm yet laced with malice.
’What is Leo thinking?!’ Kent thought with his hands tightly clenched while staring at the students who were all panicking and murmuring among themselves. ’What do I do now?’
"I feel like that punishnt is light." Orion suddenly added as he stood up for the first ti, his sharp gaze sweeping through the crowd. "Hence, I’m adding this. If the six students chosen by the instructor are not able to push the direct descendants to even half their full strength, the instructor himself will be kicked out of the academy too. It shows he failed as an instructor."
"Wait, what?!" Kent shouted in shock as he stared at the principal who returned back to his seat. His voice echoed across the hall, drawing even more murmurs from the audience. The tension was thick enough to choke on.
"Mada," Rivock whispered. "What’s your dad thinking?"
"I... I don’t know what’s going on." Mada replied too in a whisper as he rubbed his temples, clearly confused and irritated.
"None of these weaklings can push us to even a quarter of our full strength, talk more half our strength," Noelle added with a frown on her face, her tone dripping with arrogance as she crossed her arms.
"We give you five minutes to make your pick," Leo announced, his smile growing wider as if enjoying the chaos.
’Fuck, this is bad, this is bad,’ Kent thought as his hands began trembling. His throat dried up instantly, and beads of sweat trickled down his forehead. ’I... I don’t know who to pick. Who can I pick that would be able to push the direct descendants to their full powers?’
"Let
on this team." Finral called out, his voice steady, hands tightly clenched as he stood upright. His gaze burned with determination.
"Huh? Are you sure about this? You heard them. If you don’t try your hardest, you will be kicked out of this academy," Kent said calmly, trying to read Finral’s expression.
"I’m well aware of the consequences, and yet I still want to try," Finral replied with a determined look on his face. His tone carried no hesitation.
"Huh? What can you even do? In case you forgot, let
remind you that you got beat by Mada a few minutes ago," Albed said with a deep frown on her face, clearly unimpressed.
"Remind , instructor Kent, are you the one in charge right now or her?" Finral asked, glaring at the female.
". Why?" Kent replied with a raised brow, his curiosity piqued.
"Good to know, because I don’t want a whining bitch telling
what I can and cannot do. Now will you put
on that list?" Finral muttered with a deep frown as he saw a vein bulging across the female instructor’s head. The surrounding students gasped softly, surprised by his audacity.
"Fine." Kent sighed as he gestured for Finral to stand aside. "Jared, you are next."
"? Why ? I... I... I couldn’t even defeat a normal red band and you’re pitting
against the direct descendants? That’s crazy, I will lose!" Jared cried out, staring at the instructor like he had gone insane.
"It says here that you got a good score on your assessnt by helping you and your team hunt lots and lots of sky-ranked beasts. So it ans you have a pretty decent strength," Kent replied with a deep frown. His tone was firm but calm.
’Fuck ! How do I explain that I didn’t hunt those beasts?! Grey helped
hunt them and I stabbed him in the back,’ Jared thought as he clenched his hands, frustration evident in his eyes. Without any choice, he walked over to where Finral stood, his steps heavy with regret.
"Ray Dumbbell, right?" Kent asked as he stared at Ray, who nodded silently. "Will you fight? You are the strongest person among the yellow bands right now."
Ray just shook his head slowly.
"You’re wrong. I’m not the strongest."
"Huh? What do you an?" Kent asked with a raised brow, confusion spreading on his face.
"I will only join on one condition, instructor Kent," Ray replied as a confident smile flashed across his face. His aura subtly changed, drawing everyone’s attention.
"Which is?" the instructor asked again, his curiosity now genuine.
"Let Grey participate in this battle royale. Only then can we win this thing; otherwise, we are all toast," Ray declared boldly.
"Huh?!" The entire place erupted in confusion, students whispering and gasping as Grey’s na spread like wildfire across the hall.
