Chapter 461: The Future of Arondale!

Chapter 461

The next day arrived once again. During all this ti, Grey had been training and honing his wind magic from the previous day, ever since he received the magic book, with only a few short breaks in between.

Due to his talent for quickly grasping concepts and rembering them, he had managed to unlock all the basic wind skills in the book.

This was a bonus for whoever managed to learn all the other basic skills, and now Grey was feeling significantly more powerful than before.

He had not neglected his Ki, either. He had honed both magic and Ki together and had even reached a point where he could weave them seamlessly.

Thalos could not help but be amazed at Grey’s rapid mastery of the skills. In just two days, the young man had learned all the basic wind skills from the book.

Now, he was planning to move on to the next magic.

"I honestly wonder what the second part of this book contains. I wonder what it even is." Grey muttered under his breath as he flipped through the pages casually.

’I thought that by relearning and awakening my magic, I might recall my past as well, but I still can’t rember who I really am. It’s such a struggle.’

"So..." Thalos began, cutting Grey off from his thoughts.

"Huh?" Grey asked with a raised brow.

"Are you going to see that Da guy later today?" Thalos asked, causing Grey to halt his movents and stop flipping through the book.

’That’s right. The dude said I should co see him in two days, and today is the day. I totally forgot about it.’ Grey thought, his brow furrowing as he let out a quiet sigh.

"I honestly don’t know yet." Grey replied, going back to morizing the skills for lightning magic.

’Sheesh! To awaken this magic, one needs to endure a certain amount of lightning torture. They needed to be struck by lightning a few tis? Damn it! I’m sure I have this magic, but what horror did I even face to awaken it?’ he thought, knitting his brows.

"What do you an by you don’t know?" Thalos asked with a raised brow.

Grey simply shrugged dismissively. "I don’t know why he wants

to go back there later today. I don’t think I can trust him. What if it’s an ambush?"

"Are you worried?" Thalos asked. "I an, if it’s an ambush, I’m sure we can both handle it just fine."

"Really? You’d help if we encountered one?" Grey asked.

"Nope." Thalos replied bluntly, causing the young man to scoff. "But I feel like we should give him a chance. He might be useful to us. Besides, I don’t plan to spend two weeks cooped up in a cave alone."

"Alone? You have

here with you." Grey retorted.

"I said what I said." Thalos huffed, turning his head slightly aside.

"Tch!" Grey scoffed and went back to staring at the book in his hands.

’Well, I don’t think I have any choice in the matter. The ti for the eting is drawing near. Besides, I think I need to hunt more beast cores. I really need them.’ Grey thought with a sigh before closing the book and rising to his feet.

"Let’s go." Grey said, striding toward the corner where the magic circle had already been drawn.

He placed a beast core in it and activated it with his mana, causing a white portal to swirl to life in front of the duo.

Holding his hand out, a robe appeared in it. It was dark purple, almost black in color.

Without hesitation, Grey draped it over his body, pulling the hood up to fully conceal his face from view.

"Don’t I need so sort of disguise too?" Thalos asked, glancing at himself.

"Haven’t they seen your face already? Besides, it’s not really your real face, so we’re kind of fine," Grey said before stepping through the portal.

"It’s not your real face, so we’ll be fine. Tch!" Thalos mimicked Grey’s tone with a scoff before stepping through the portal himself.

The mont he crossed the threshold, the portal snapped shut, leaving the cave empty for a few tense seconds until...

A bright light suddenly enveloped the cave, illuminating the rocky chamber with a blinding glow. A whooshing sound reverberated as loose rocks were flung aside by the sheer force of the energy. Gradually, the turbulence cald down, and the cave returned to silence.

A few monts later, the light dimd and finally faded completely, leaving two figures standing in flowing robes.

One of them was an old man, his long white hair tied neatly into a ponytail. His robe was completely white, immaculate, and without a single blemish.

The second figure appeared much more ordinary at first glance, a man with brown hair, his robes flowing gently around him.

"His mories... I feel the seal I placed on them is weakening," the old man muttered, his narrowed gaze sweeping across the room.

"Truly, the kid lives up to his title as the youngest monster of Arondale. In just two days, he has managed to relearn his wind magic. Though it is not yet at full strength compared to when he was back ho," the brown-haired figure remarked.

"The youngest monster?" the old man asked with a raised brow, then chuckled. "Then where does that leave Kael? Or even his loudmouth friend... uhm, what’s his na again? Right! Raze. That kid is also shaping up to be soone terrifying."

"Yeah," the brown-haired man sighed. "Those children were devastated when they thought Grey had died. In their grief, they began training harder than anything I have ever seen, and slowly, they are becoming the backbone of Lunaria Academy."

"Luckily, we managed to avoid their return ho. I need Grey to beco stronger as quickly as possible. I do not enjoy interfering in these matters, but I will have to collaborate with the overseers of this continent to create circumstances that will push him further.

I need him to beco the monster he once was... No! With his Ki, I need him to beco sothing far more terrifying.

When he eventually regains his mories and returns to our world, nobody—absolutely nobody—will be able to stand in his way, including those pesky otherworlders." The old man grinned widely as a bright light slowly began to envelop them both.

’I wish him the best of luck then. Grey, please... the future of Arondale rests in your hands. Know that the First Mage is on your side, no matter what he is about to do. Take care, my son,’ the brown-haired man thought, a hint of lancholy in his eyes, as the light grew blindingly bright. With a loud whoosh, both figures disappeared from view.
