Chapter 383: The Cyclone Fang Kick!

Chapter 383

"We’re here," Vanessa announced, her voice light yet satisfied as she and Grey finally reached the mountain’s summit. The wind blew gently around them as they stood atop the peak, gazing down at the vast forest sprawling beneath.

"Well, ti to train," Grey said with a shrug, pulling off his shirt and tossing it aside. His chiseled abs and defined muscles glead with sweat under the sun, causing Vanessa’s eyes to widen slightly. She bit her lip, trying not to stare too obviously—but it was hard not to.

"One..." Grey muttered as he dropped to the ground and began a set of push-ups.

His arms moved rapidly, muscles flexing with every motion. Vanessa sat on a nearby rock, silently counting along in her mind, her gaze fixed on him.

In just five minutes, Grey wrapped up his push-ups and smoothly transitioned into sit-ups, then squats—his breathing steady, his focus absolute.

"Fifty-eight," Grey finally called out, beads of sweat dripping down his brow. Vanessa huffed as she watched from the side, her arms crossed.

’Tch. I thought we ca up here to spend so ti together. But nooo, this fool is busy doing his damned exercises... How annoying!’ she grumbled inwardly.

When Grey finally dropped to the ground to rest, his chest rising and falling rhythmically, Vanessa couldn’t help but watch him in silence. His eyes were locked on the forest below, his mind seemingly adrift in thought.

"Oh? You can actually sit," Vanessa remarked dryly as she saw him rest, pretending not to care, though her heart was racing a little.

Grey didn’t respond right away. He simply inhaled the mountain air, letting its calmness soothe the storm within him. But then, Vanessa ca to sit beside him.

"I refuse to believe you followed

all the way up here just to watch

train," Grey said without turning, his eyes still fixed on the quiet forest.

"You’re right," Vanessa replied as she stood up suddenly. She walked to the center of the rocky clearing, turning around and gesturing for Grey to join her.

Grey raised an eyebrow but complied. "What is it?"

"I know Dad said you need to rest and take it easy, but I think you should learn this—just in case. And don’t tell Dad, okay?" she warned, her tone firm, her brow slightly furrowed.

"I won’t," Grey replied with a grin, waving his hand nonchalantly.

"Good." She cracked her knuckles. "Now... co at ."

"Huh?" Grey blinked, confused.

"Did I stutter? Co at , you dumb pretty boy," she said again, folding into a battle stance.

"You know that was a complint, right?" Grey laughed lightly as he readied himself, crouching low.

"Whatever. Just co at

with your full strength," Vanessa snapped, motioning with her fingers for him to charge.

"As you wish," Grey smirked—and then, with a burst of strength, he dashed forward like a bullet.

At least, he thought he did.

To Vanessa, his movents were sluggish—like watching a determined snail sprinting toward her.

Boom!

Before his punch could land, Vanessa surged forward with explosive speed. She ducked under his fist effortlessly and leapt a foot away, her eyes gleaming with playful confidence.

Grey dashed forward again, but Vanessa kept leaping away with ease, expertly avoiding any form of direct confrontation. Her movents were graceful yet elusive, and the pattern began to wear Grey down slightly.

"Wait—are we going to keep doing this all day?" Grey huffed as he lunged forward again, trying to catch her off guard with a swift punch. But once more, he struck nothing but air.

"No, we aren’t," Vanessa’s voice called out from three ters behind him.

Grey turned quickly, surprised, only to see her standing there with a mischievous smile on her face.

"Watch this closely," she smirked. Then, with a sharp bang of impact against the ground, she bolted from her spot and launched herself high into the air.

She spun rapidly as she soared toward Grey, each rotation building more montum. Grey stared up at her in confusion, trying to make sense of her aerial theatrics. But then, her speed increased suddenly—violently.

With a final, fierce spin, Vanessa brought her leg around and—

Bang!

The impact echoed through the air like a mini shockwave. Her roundhouse kick landed squarely on Grey’s face.

Ti seed to pause for a second as her foot remained pressed against his cheek—then he went flying, helplessly hurled through the air like a ragdoll.

He crashed into the rocky terrain with a painful bounce, tumbling several tis before skidding to a dusty stop.

"And we call that..." Vanessa said proudly, her smile widening as she watched Grey slowly rise to his feet, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth, "The Cyclone Fang Kick!"

"That was... powerful," Grey coughed, wiping blood off his face while staggering back toward her.

"If you think that was powerful," Vanessa chuckled, brushing her hair aside, "wait until Dad uses it. Mine’s not even the finished product."

She walked toward the edge of the cliff and sat down, swinging her legs gently as the cool breeze played across her face.

"That technique wasn’t the finished product?" Grey asked, wincing as he sat beside her. "It literally launched

into the sky."

"Well, that’s only because you’re weak," she teased, sticking out her tongue. "Soone stronger would’ve blocked or countered that. When Dad unleashes it properly, the wind pressure from the kick can actually cut soone down."

Grey blinked in surprise, his jaw clenching slightly.

’Wind pressure that can cut soone down? Just how strong is Yami? I’ve never even seen him fight seriously...’ he thought with a slow exhale.

"Can you teach ?" Grey asked, stars forming in his eyes.

"I want to," Vanessa replied with a shrug, "but you’re not ready. You need to learn how to circulate Ki throughout your limbs first. Since you’ve successfully ford your Dantian, I’m sure Dad will teach you that starting tomorrow."

"Oh." Grey let out a small sigh and rubbed his sore cheek again.

"Grey..." Vanessa said suddenly, turning to face him. Her voice was quiet, almost hesitant, her expression more somber than usual. "If—if soday you rember your past... will you leave us?"

The question caught Grey off guard. He turned to look at her, his eyes wide with surprise.

"...Depends," he answered after a pause, his voice soft. "If I rember sothing urgent or soone I need to take care of... I might have to. But if my mories turn out to be the painful kind, then I’ll stay here."

"Hmph. You better not leave us," Vanessa grumbled, folding her arms and pouting as she looked back out at the forest. "If you do, I’ll build an army and co find you wherever you are."

"Sure, sure, my prickly queen," Grey chuckled—just as a sudden wave of pain slamd into his head.

He winced as blurry images flashed behind his eyes—a girl with red hair, sitting beside him. He was calling her the sa thing: prickly queen.

And then, just as quickly, the images vanished.

"You okay?" Vanessa asked, frowning as she noticed beads of sweat forming on Grey’s forehead.

"Yeah... I’m fine." Grey quickly stood up, brushing it off. "I think we should probably head back now. It’s getting late."

Vanessa rose too, though she grumbled under her breath about cutting the trip short. Together, they began the slow, quiet descent back ho.
